Any proof of this? As I can recall the people with geostigma were only depressed about having it. Didn't really seem to mess with their mind until Kadaj and the leather gang came into the picture. Even Denzel seemed to be happier and more determined than Cloud.
He might have his reasons, but that's still not his character. The real reason why people complain about it is because they changed his character, but not only that, it is also that there is nothing appealing about someone who goes around moping all the time. It's why most people wouldn't watch reality shows where everyone is just depressed and talks about how awful they are, etc. Why would he move on in Advent Children when he already moved on in FFVII? It doesn't make sense. As for Duedecim, I never played it because the original game was ass and almost none of the characters were faithful to their origins. Maybe he got better for that, I do not know, but if you look at the picture in the OP, it's clearly for the original Dissidia anyway.
No he's not. If you play Dissidia, watch Advent Children, play Kingdom Hearts, you'll see that his personality is completely different from what it was in the original game. He's all mopey and goes around whining about absolutely everything. He especially goes around crying about Aeris, which he didn't in the original game. The Cloud in FFVII was quiet, sure, but he was in no way depressed. He willingly did things like dress up like a woman and he said things like "Let's mosey". If you don't think his character has changed over the years, then you should go back and play FFVII. It always amuses me how in Dissidia it is almost like they took Cloud and Squall and swapped their personalities.
