1000 posts? The reason why I'm not Premium yet is because: 1. I only recently started using this account. 2. I don't have anything to post in a lot of the time. I try to make my posts relevant, coherent, and not an eyesore to read. I don't particularly care, I'll get there when I get there.
thinking that a certain amount of posts, a teal username, and a couple of small priveleges makes you better than everyone else is pretty dumb. Same goes for rep. A member should be judged solely on the quality of his/her posts. Nothing more, nothing less.

Then you learn from it to try and pick a better candidate next time. Note I'm speaking of what America in general should do and not you specifically. It's kind of early to be making assumptions anyway, we don't really know what kind of president he'll be at all.
The reason they see Obama being elected as a sign of good change is because a couple of decades ago, people like him had to fight for seemingly basic rights. Yes, he hasn't done anything yet, and no, his skin color doesn't really mean anything in terms of what kind of president he will be, but if anything, him being elected is a sign that America has progressed a lot, even if he turns out to be a horrible president.
