Back when BBS was first released, people made fun of Terra endlessly for trusting Maleficent who obvious looked evil. Good to know Disney raised a generation of children who think people are stupid for not making decisions based on what a person looks like
Currently ongoing thing where you vote on the PSN for your top games. Pickings are a little slim this time, but the winners in each category get put on discount for a while after, so that's pretty cool
Read this comic, and pretend it's canon Suddenly, Terra, Aqua, Ventus and Eraqus are actual characters, with reasonable rationale, and actual character development. By focusing hard and squinting my eyes, I was actually able to stir up real emotion while playing BBS. For added effect, listen to this music. Of course, the effectiveness of this tactic is relative to your imagination. And I still haven't found anything that manages to make Days sad.
In this picture: Mako and Mako ride the Mako in search of Mako for their Mako Cannon, but are being chased by Mako
Can't be beat
Weird style attempt for me, but overall I like it Especially how the violin turned out
Talking about how keyblades need a strong hearted wielder has made me think of something. Is there really any important character in KH who has actually had a weak heart? I mean, maybe some minor characters like the Peddler in Agrabah, but certainly not Aladin, Beast, or any other character like that. At the very least, some of these characters have strong enough hearts that Organization XIII wants their Nobody, so yeah.
Nintendo has just revealed the next installment in the Mario and Luigi franchise, Mario and Luigi Dream Team, whose core new feature is having Mario explore Luigi's dreams. It looks amazing Also, Yoko Shimomura
If you note, there is a body within the 'head' of the Dusk Nobodies. The more I look at this picture, the more it looks like the creature is wearing some sort of weird hoody. So yeah, is the Dusk basically a body suit? Also, pretty messed up how their faces are zippered shut
Was looking through some of my old stuff Found this: So yeah... ... ...
I thought it was confirmed early on that the Disney element of Days wasn't being remade for the movie? This screenshot disagrees, Not that I'm complaining. Besides, a lot of character moments were tied to the Disney worlds, so this is good. I thought they were just going to cut out the stuff like Roxas and Axel flying.
He had a keyblade before it was cool and they started handing them out to everyone. Alt title: Remember When Keyblades Were Special? I've seen a lot of my anti-keyblade proliferation sentiments being echoed throughout this forum, so I decided to make a topic about it. Keyblades used to be special. What made them special? Not their ability to unlock doors. Not their monster slaying abilities. The thing that made keyblades special was their rarity. It's really the same for anything, it's basic supply and demand. when Sora was the only keyblade wielder, it made him special, made him VALUABLE. When it turned out that Riku/Ansem was able to create -gasp- a SECOND keyblade, it was a big deal. When Roxas showed up with a keyblade, it was mysterious; a new kid who had a keyblade? What are the odds! Wait, what!? TWO keyblades! WOAH! And then, after getting the secret ending. HOLY! DID YOU SEE ALL THOSE KEYBLADES! THAT'S SO MYSTERIOUS AND AWESOME! AT SOME POINT THERE WERE A WHOLE BUNCH OF KEYBLADES! And then BBS happened. And it turns out there are tonnes of keyblade wielders. And all of Sora's friends get keyblades. And then we find out the origin of the keyblade: they're man-made swords used to fight in a war, based off a much cooler sword. Suddenly keyblades aren't so special :/ (And the origin of the keyblade is revealed in some random text blurb pretty much nobody will read? Seriously.)
So, I made a goal that I wouldn't advertise here until I reached 100 posts. Reached that goal faster than I expected ._. Anyways, my friends and I started a commentary group a while ago, and I thought it might be interesting to some of the people here because one of the game we're covering is Kingdom Hearts. I'm currently in the middle of getting back on schedule, but as a rule we release a new video each day. I think that about covers the introduction. I'd like to emphasize that we're pretty new at this, so any critique is welcome! Some things to note: the tone of the commentary more or less matches the rating of the game, so you'll find harsher language in, say, M rated games. You have been warned. Also, personally, I'd recommend our Walking Dead Commentary. I think it's the best we've done so far. Games in ProgressKingdom Hearts Democratic Mass Effect TIE Fighter Star Wars Battlefront (Complete) The Fancy Pants Adventures The Walking Dead Episode 1 (Complete) The Walking Dead Episode 2 Portal (Complete) Fire Emblem Final Fantasy XIII Super Mario Galaxy So that's the videos. In the future we plan to cover Zelda, Final Fantasy, Ratchet and Clank, Mario, Fez, Age of Empires and many others, so there's that. We're also planning some non-commentary content, some of which is KH related, so I'll post it on this site when the time rolls around. We now have a channel devoted to uploading the raw footage of our playthroughs so you can watch them without our commentary:http://www.youtube.com/user/appsplusgameplay
I don't know about you, but I've often wondered why KH has stayed so strictly within the confines of the Disney movies they recreate. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the worlds actually interacted with one another? I think that would be really interesting. HOW this would be interesting is a bit beyond me, I'm not terribly familiar with Disney movies, but I feel like it could open up a lot of cool possibilities.
As many of you probably know, each Nobody correlates to a certain Special Nobody. In turn, each Nobody has some control over that specific Nobody type. Some of you probably also know about how Roxas' Nobody type was the Samurai, and that they were planned as a party member at some point in the development of Days. So, my question, what would you think of more elements of Nobody control in Days? Whether it's as party members, subordinates, perhaps even dispatching them to certain worlds? Whatever you can think of. Personally, I think it would have made Days a bit more interesting, if at the very least giving Roxas a party member during those long stretches where he has none. It could also lead to some interesting/funny dialog with Roxas dealing with being a 'commanding officer' of sorts.
There have been some ephemeral musings about BBS' original development, including the possibility of it going by the name Kingdom Heartsb III. Suppose that had been the case (though the game was still the same) Do you think you would have treated it differently? Honestly, i don't think I would, BBS already felt like a numbered title to me (it's KH0 after all) but I feel like it would have made a lot of people complaining about how KH3 is never going to be released more silent. Though they would instead probably complain about it not being on the same scope as previous numbered KH games.
In KH1, Sora's wooden sword is used to emphasize his vulnerability, and show the power of the keyblade. This is done by having the blade phase through the Shadows that appear on Destiny Island. Why, then, does this not apply in Hollow Bastion? When Sora gets Riku's wooden sword, he is suddenly able to cause (very minor) damage to powerful heartless. why is that?
Something I've been noticing mroe adn more is that KH games seem to think they have better gameplay than they actually do; they expect you to react to crazy anime attacks, and punish you severely for mistakes. The thing I've found with KH is that it has always been more about spectacle than balance, KH1 and KH especially understood this. But after playing DDD, I started to pick up a pattern since then, of demanding things the player simply couldn't do. KH LOVES its lengthy animations, full of flashy graphics and elaborate acrobatics. What KH2 understood was that these moves took control away from the player for far too long to be fair, so they granted invincibility frames during them. These invincibility frames slowly made their way out of KH, until they all but disappeared in DDD. See, KH seems to be under the impression that it's 'fair', but anybody who has been knocked off a building in tWtNW by an Aura Lion should know otherwise. KH is full of unfair combos, offscreen potshots, and attacks that are more about being cool than actually having a practical way of being avoided, yet it seems the developers are slowly forgetting this, and demanding more and more from players. Demanding something they can't deliver on. I mena, it really says something that when playing DDD I never once felt like it was MY fault for dying. It was always 'gee, it sure would have been nice if that gianta attack didn't suddenly appear on my screen taking off half my health' and the like. I dunno, maybe it's just me, thoughts?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Claus When you can just google it to find out if Santa is real or not. At least, in my opinion DISCUSSION ADDED: We live in an age where very young kids have very easy access to very sophisticated technology. I don't know about any of you, but part of the wonder of being a kid was NOT KNOWING, but now at the first sing of resistance, the truth is only a google away. What do you think this will affect in the future? I personally believe it will lead to an even more rapid maturation of the youth populace.
At first I intended to make this topic about Birth by Sleep, asking about what sorts of commands and command styles Xehanrot and Eraqus would have used. Then I thought: why be exclusive? There are plenty of interesting KH characters we don't get to properly play as. So yeah, what sorts of command decks and command styles do you think your favourite KH characters would use? You can make stuff up, obviously, or use an existing one in a different way. Eraqus, personally, strikes me as a speedier and more defensive Sora, so I'd imagine him using many of Sora's commands, such as Sonic Blade or Zantetsuken. Obviously some light based moves in there as well, perhaps something along the lines of Mickey's Pearl? Xehanort strikes me as a magic based Terra, and I could see him using magic equivalents of Terra's signature moves, though undoubtedly they would all be darkness based. That said, he is shown to use regular elemental magic, like any other character.
