I think he meant that it was moreso the school's fault for not closing because of the snow storm. Also, school cancellations based on snow differ a lot depending on where you live. My cousin lives in Florida and there was one time where school was cancelled for him because of a foot of snow. Some areas that don't see snow often simply don't have the tools to counteract snow storms as snowier areas such as mine or yours do.

It's like why some place like...Alaska, may have dozens of different words to refer to penguins or something, but New York doesn't. New York doesn't deal all that regularly with penguins, so we don't need to have lots of words for it. In this case, I'm assuming Below's area just usually doesn't see much snow, if any at all, throughout the year, so they probably don't have as many plans to clear the road during snowfall.

That's what she showed, lol. The group she renamed from "Testing" to "See?" was a group that she had made for the example.

Even that in itself is such a limited audience. My kid brother hardly watches TTG or Spongebob (bless him for preferring the original), but I can't imagine any young kid really clawing after Teen Titans Go or other such paraphernalia. In fact, you'd think the more eye catching, action oriented shows would produce more yield for products, but I digress on that point.

Overall, it is really awful that things are being cancelled just because people outside of the very narrow target demographic are picking up on it. If more people than you projected are enjoying something you're doing, when is that ever bad for sales lol? If they were afraid they wouldn't sell many action figures, add more merchandise. Add shirts, or hats, or bags; so many people would be more likely to buy a shirt either for themselves or their kid, especially if the kid is young enough to be prone to swallowing small parts of toys still. It's ridiculous that CN and other stations are trying to pigeonhole their market when consumers would be fully willing if they expanded more on merchandise/who they want to see their stuff.

    On Mike's post:

Disney has taken more towards hosting shows that are predominately geared towards women, I agree. However, I'm sure this started out (and likely, continues to be) a conscious choice on their part due to women not receiving an equal standing or representation elsewhere in media. If we look at the top 50 highest grossing films last year, 64% of them (32/50) were composed of male leads (who were also mostly white middle aged men). Only 7 of the 50 had a female lead (mostly all also white).

I don't really have any qualms with Disney taking this approach as is taking initiative to help get more equal representation of both sexes in media, mostly for children. Granted, a lot of these shows have become rather...less quality than shows like That's So Raven, or Lizzie McGuire, or the Proud Family.

I do, however, also agree with the call for making a situation where a male lead breaks traditional gender stereotypes! Characters like Aang or Peeta or even Shinji serve as good role models to men that it's fine not to be some super macho SHOUNEN I WILL YELL AND DEFEAT ALL MY ENEMIES AND NEVER CRY AND ALWAYS BE 2STRONK, and I feel that's equally as important as having strong female leads if we really want to break the hold gender roles and misrepresentation have over the film/television industry.

That was fine Anize you did gud gurl

Anyway, this is probably just gonna be repeating what others have said, lol. I do think Disney's been playing it safe with their films as of late. It's understandable since it's a corporation and they likely get their funding from Oldass Conservative White Men, but at the same time they should push to switch things up a bit. Taking "risks" are the moves that can have the most payoff: I remember that Nick was like "LOL NAH" to having Korra be a black female protag because they were worried that no one would like her, but low and behold people were praising how cool she was and the show's been successful (interpretations vary here). They should introduce more varied characters in terms of race/sex/orientation because the odds of a majority of people having a backlash to it are slim to none.

I'm not really sure what you mean here. Do you mean racially stereotypical specific stories, like "a black kid protag that is shockingly involved with a gang!!!"?

If it's the latter then, yeah, I definitely agree. I hate it when a majority of popular stories about nonwhite people (sidenote: i hate the term 'person of color' but that is another discussion entirely) that play to stereotypical situations like that. I don't mind them once in a while because it does focus on an aspect of reality for people within whatever ethnic group or sexual orientation or whatever, but those types of stories shouldn't define the type of story meant for those people. Donald Glover hits it best in an interview where he talked about his trying out for the role of Peter Parker in the Amazing Spiderman:

From what I've seen and read about Frozen, Elsa and everyone being Black or Asian or Indian, or even Elsa being lesbian, would've hardly had an effect on the overall scheme of things. Disney could do the same types of stories they've been doing, but simply have one character be something besides a white kid. People throughout history have developed similar basic stories despite being continents and cultures apart, and that's because stories are and should be inclusive to everyone, something that anyone can relate to. While Disney's stories are that, their variance in characters needs to be brought to that same standard.

I don't read Bleach but it should not take a year's worth of chapters to dig into individual struggles and still not move things forward at a nice pace. Naruto did that with Tobi and that was, barring a few chapters here and there, so dull. AND THIS ISN'T EVEN GETTING INTO THE MONTH ABOUT KABUTO.

What's your favorite thing you've written and why?

You are given a time machine, notes from ~the future~, and some fine wine to drink along the way. Your mission is to go back in time to when a game you were really excited for was being developed, but late ended up being a total flop. What changes would you make to this game? (tl;dr what changes would you make to a game you thought would be good but was not very good at all).

Hollywood decides the KH-Vids Podcast is the hottest thing to hit the streets since the eruption of Vesuvius. You are given a chance to have any 5 people currently alive on an episode. Who would you choose, and why?

Maleficent almost did the same to me, but then I just equipped Strike Raid and resolved to be cheap. :'D But aww man, that sucks. Do you know what made them disappear? I haven't even looked at the Gummi Ship missions in depth, but I saw one was like "Get no points and take no damage" and felt the Platinum trophy launch into the distance.

I doubt it's the time I went to bed so much as how much good sleep I got, lol. I had woken up still tired yesterday so I knew I was going to be due for an early turn in. :v

I attempted to complete my No Equipment run on KH1FM on Standard Mode, then Rikunort showed me that I suck and should save the no equipment for Beginner. I am, however, using this run to finish all the optional bosses and stuff (although Sephoroth killed me in two hits looooooool).

I also fell asleep while texting my friend at 10pm last night, and came to the realization I am very bad at talking while about to collapse.
