KH3D vs Re:COM was tough. COM has the best story in terms of plot progression and detail (after KH1) imo, but if you're new to playing it it requires a lot of attention to the battles. With DDD, there was at least some vague sense of familiarity with the combat and I could jump more easily into it. If I were to pick up one right now and play it, I'd probably pick KH3D, so that took it for me.

I liked Days' story but the gameplay was awfully repetitive. And KH1 is kind of hard to top, hah.
if KH1 loses to BBS tho that's just some bull

That's something I noticed too. Kishi's portrayals of grief are all really well executed. With stuff like this scene, the one with Naruto after the Jiraiya vs Pain fight, Shikamaru after Asuma vs Hidan, and the heartbreak that is the Kushina flashbacks omgggg. All of them had this raw, realistic feeling to it whether it be in the dialogue or just shown in the panels without dialogue. There is a lot to be said for his writing, but Kishi hits the mark every time with grief, imo.

    _MERGED

A friend and I had watched it through questionable means, heh, but my impressions basically boiled down to: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I was pretty torn on how I felt about it, but after a while I think the direction they took was the best for Homura's character arc. It was incredibly clear Homura tied her existence and all around joy to Madoka by the end of the show, and her obsession being what corrupted her to rebelling againstMadoka to "free" her was really fulfilling. I'm so glad that they addressed that, and it sets up an interesting conflict of Madoka's wants versus Homura's. GODDESS VS DEMON NO HOLDS BRAWL POSSIBLY ENSUING.

That said, I didn't see that coming at all, lol. I knew to expect a radical plot twist and thought that Homura becoming a witch was it, but considering it's Madoka I should've damn well knew the suffering quota was nowhere near full. I'm glad Kyubey got incapacitated, though I do feel kinda bad for it. ;c Sayaka and them were excellent, and CANON SAYOKO (lbr as if there were any doubts). Overall, this movie was very pleasing, and even if they just end it here I'd be pretty happy with it.

    STEINS;GATE
    Ended (2011) • 24 Episodes + 1 OVA + 1 Movie
    Science Fiction/Psychological/Time Travel/SONUVABITCH

From the makers of Chaos;Head and Robotics;Notes, and based on the Visual Novel of the same name, Steins;Gate is a science filled ride with tsunderes, mad scientists, and catgirls. You follow the main protagonist, an undergrad science student named Okabe Rintarou a.k.a. HOUOUIN KYOUMA as he wades through life with fellow lab members Daru and Mayuri (Mayushii). However, when he meets the tsunderific scientist Makise Kurisu, then discovers and builds a time machine, the very mundane aspects of his life take a quick turn for the most intense ride of his life. Probably my favorite anime of 2011 (sorry Madoka), Steins;Gate has a painfully slow start. but when the plot kicks in, you'll be caught in a time loop till you finish. Filled with strong and varied characters of all sexes and genders, gorgeous cinematography, comedic moments, and more Dr. Pepper than you can handle, you're in for a real treat. Recently, a non-canon movie was released in theaters, and is now available for Blu-Ray sale in Japan. While it's not canon, I found it to be very worthwhile and a nice addition to the story overall.

    PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA
    Ended (2011) • 12 Episodes + 3 Movies
    Science Fiction/Magical Girl/Psychological//人 ‿‿ 人\

You've seen Sailor Moon, Little Witch Academia, and Cardcaptor Sakura. Think of everything sweet and cheery about magical girls. Is it in your head? Got it all down? Good, now go watch this one. Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a rather unexpected entry into the magical girls genre, taking many people by surprise with a story unlike most in the field. With animation brought by SHAFT and a soundtrack straight from Yuki Kujiara, things are guaranteed to start off pretty weird then escalate before you know it. There are three additional movies after the films, the first two mainly just a recap of the show. The third movie, Rebellion Story, is a canon continuation of the story, however.

To answer my own questions, my favorite characters are basically a three-way tie between Ryuko, Mako, and Satsuki (tho Satsuki is still Best Woman 2k14). I usually dislike characters like Mako but she's really funny to me. I love all of her speeches and Episode 7 is still one of my favorites. Ryuko and Satsuki have a really nice dynamic, and I like that even though the pretense of their resolve is different -- Ryuko slowly building it throughout the series while Satsuki's is impenetrable, they're still pretty similar to each other.

Favorite OST track is hard to pin down. It's surprisingly really varied, so there's a lot of songs I like a lot. I'll have to say it's a tie between Blumenkranz

dese two, and I Want to Know (which sounds like a song to Ryuko from Pops Matoi which is really sad :C)
