Two of my aunts are currently in marriages that came about as a result of a relationship that began online. One of my irl friends is also currently in an online relationship that is going well. I know several online friends who would argue with you. Online relationships are hard work yes, but that doesn't mean they cannot be successful. I think you are being extremely ignorant which is highly amusing considering you condemn ignorance so strongly. Where are they saying that they are more important/better than a real marriage?
