"How can we trust him? It seems clear to me that he wants to use you, stab you in the back, and them come to kill me the second that job is done." Dagny glared at the man waiting outside their small home through the window. "Why can't we run away? They could never catch us."

"Spending our lives looking over our shoulders isn't the kind of life I had planned for us." Ash crossed his arms. "No, I'll go along with his plan and if he turns on me I'll handle it."

Dagny shook her head quickly, grabbing onto his shoulders. "You can't do this. Please." The fear in her eyes made him hesitate for an instant but he knew what had to be done.

"When I return you can be angry all you want but you will be able to do so knowing we will be left alone." Ash pulled her arms down and gave her a faint smile before starting towards the door.

    "Please...don't die."

    "I won't."

    "
Nothing is ever private with those of importance. Surely you must know that by now." Ash exhaled, watching as the fog of his breath dissipated in the night air. "The offer will, of course, expire the moment you choose to go through with that wedding." A loud snap came from the tree Ash was leaning against as he reached up and broke off a twig from a low-hanging branch. He twirled the piece of wood in his hands and examined it absentmindedly before tossing it aside without another thought.

    "
Freedom always comes at a price. If you are willing to accept that and fight for what's yours," He pushed himself off the tree and walked over towards Morrigan withdrawing a silver business card from his coat, "you will know where to find me. Come alone whenever you are ready. I have all the time in the world to await your response. You, however, seem to be running short of time. One can only delay a union for so long." Ash turned from the woman and paused for a moment. "Regardless of your answer, I do wish you the best of luck. Truly. Travel safe."

Rhett looked back at the Shadowhunter, Hendrik, and perked his ears up as the nephilim spoke to him. Despite the change, Rhett's eyes remained the same as when he was in human form. Tilting back his head the wolf sniffed the air for a long moment and lowered his muzzle to the ground to take another sniff. The trail might as well have been a neon sign to him by this point. The intricacies of the fairy blood came alive standing far apart from any other scents in the city air. With a single bound the wolf leapt to another nearby rooftop and stood still, lifting his right forepaw, staring intently at the nephilim and wondering if the man could truly keep up with a wolf.

    ???? 1722

"What do you mean I have to help you?"

    "
Exactly as I stated. Unless you wish to place yourself and that bloodsucker you call family in the sights of a very well-armed group of Shadowhunters I suggest you do as I say." Ash's eyes momentarily caught the glint of the nephilim's stele hanging at his side. "It has taken us a very long time to track you two down. Not all of those soldiers you killed were human those many years ago."

    "
He did it to save my people! If you and your kind had not bothered meddling in the politics of a war then they would not have been in our way!"

    "
Needless to say, we will not take the deaths of so many nephilim lightly. It is only because more lives were saved than lost that you two are not dead where you stand. Here are the details of my assignment." The Shadowhunter's armor could be seen under the sleeve of his robe as he reached forward to hand Ash the parchment he had brought with him. As the warlock's black eyes scanned the words scrawled across it a strong look of concern crossed his face.

    "
A village just south of here was decimated and you're thinking it was...what? A clan of roaming vampires?" The details he had just read were sketchy at best. The first victim had shown up days earlier with bloody marks on his neck and the village the man belonged to was filled with bodies baring similar markings. Despite this, Ash knew it was unlikely to be vampires given the recent occurrence of a disease that was beginning to spread in the surrounding areas. Bloody marks were not an uncommon sight.

    "
I do not care what you believe, warlock. You are merely to accompany me and assist in putting an end to this infestation. Do this and your transgressions shall be forgotten. Don't and-"

    "
Your band of mercenaries will come after Dagny and I. I know how this goes. I have no other choice in the matter."

Ash raised an eyebrow, almost amused by the fairy's defiant attitude. She had more than just spunk about her. This made him glad. With one last glance in her fiancé's direction Ash followed after Morrigan who had chosen to go with him despite his choice of words earlier. The warlock increased his pace to pass in front of the woman once the two were nearing the forest's edge, far from the domain of the others and farther still from the eyes and ears of those who would wish to pry into private matters, and stopped directly just inches away from Morrigan.

    "
Your unbeloved is quite an uninteresting character. I suppose that is how marriages are arranged in your culture, correct? That seems to be your way. A strong queen and a king whose only purpose is to keep up appearances and strengthen ties between two families. Efficient but unnecessary." Ash tilted his head as he looked over the fairy. "I wonder what will become of you once you are his. Will you fade into obscurity or shall you lose your spine just as he has? You will have centuries to live with whatever becomes of you and so will he." Ash turned away from the woman and took in a deep breath of the fresh night air. It was comforting feel the presence of only one other rather than the multitudes found deep in the city.

    "
I am certain you have thought of this as well. The loss of your freedom to a mere contract binding you to one you do not care for." He leaned against a tree keeping his back to the fairy. "I am not here to remind you of your impending doom, however. Such gloom should not be the basis of a centuries-long life. I am here to offer you an alternative. An obvious loophole if you will. Would you prefer to not only keep your life but enhance it as well?"

The scent of fairy blood was still strong in the air. Rhett was grateful it had not been as overpowering outside compared to when he stood next to the headless body but, even as a werewolf, the scent disturbed him. Hendrik then asked for his help in tracking down Masque and in response Rhett nodded slowly. "Yes. I suppose it would not be too difficult...as morbid as it sounds it's a good thing Masque took the head along with him. That kind of mess leaves a trail even if there isn't blood splattered everywhere. Especially from a fairy." It was times like this Rhett wished he could transform to boost his sense of smell but given the situation, despite its importance, he could not bring himself to change. One of the many disadvantages to having lived away from his own kind for so long. At least he could control it during the full moon.

    "
I suppose tracking this killer is important enough to warrant this..." Rhett withdrew a small glass vial with a thick black fluid inside it. "Something Ash gave me in order to make myself more...useful. I'd prefer it if you averted your eyes for a moment. This is going to be unpleasant." He sighed, shuddering as he remembered the last time he had taken a taste of it. During his last complaint Ash had said he would add something to give it a less foul taste and as Rhett downed the potion--"Ack! That liar!" He coughed, doing his best to hold his stomach. In a matter of moments gone was Rhett and in his place stood a large black wolf with a single white stripe running down from its chin to its chest. The wolf let out a low rumble and licked its lips, baring its huge fangs, obviously unhappy with the taste lingering in its mouth.

As always, disdain met him from the fellow fairies. Some faces in particular were more than familiar. The gaze between the one who seemed to be the leader of the greeting party gave a long hard gaze towards
Morrigan who, quite obviously, did not return the same kind of longing with her presence. Rather than bring up the elephant in the room, Ash diverted his attention back towards the fairy he had traveled the short distance with. "I am glad your sister has been returned to receive a proper ceremony. Justice will be done to the one who has taken her life." Black eyes flashed just for an instant over in the direction of her fiance. "But I will be in need of your woman right now, in fact. I would like to call in that debt as of this moment." He spoke plainly, making it clear that he would not give the group any further respect than he would another.

    "
Would it trouble you to travel with me, Morrigan? I am sure you would not find it unpleasant nor a large investment of your time."

Rhett glanced once more in Hendrik's direction as Brianne introduced the elder Shadowhunter. Brianne was, unfortunately, not joining their little hunting party due to the unwanted presence of...another nephilim. Rhett had not been present when Roxanne had interfered so he was confused as to why Brianne needed to leave with, what he assumed could have been another helping hand, and shrugged it off as Shadowhunter strangeness. Before he could say a word in response to Hendrik the man had already taken lead and began climbing the ladder to the roof. "At least he's friendlier than Ash." Rhett muttered as he held onto the railing of the ladder and began his ascent after the Shadowhunter.

Ash raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the fairy's sentiment towards the girl's corpse as he left his coat to cover the body. He would have to get it cleaned later. Or replaced. As these trivial thoughts left his mind the warlock watched as Morrigan wordlessly called a bat to her hand, said some unintelligible words to it, and released it back to the sky. Having seen this ability before he was hardly shocked to see such a scene although it had been some amount of decades, or even more than a century, since he had last seen a fairy do such a thing.

    "
That's quite a strange favor to ask a warlock." He took a deep breath as he mulled it over, knowing exactly how much a favor like the one she asked would be worth to him. Weighing it against what an ancient vampire was paying him was pointless knowing how fickle this particular one was. If the stars looked dimmer plans would have changed. No doubt a bloody mess like this would have caused a change in plans as well. Ash had the time to meet the fairy's request that was certain.

    "
I was always under the impression your kind were not so frail and more...physically adept. I suppose it was a misconception on my part albeit an understandable one given your kind's lineage. Well, there's that and the fact I fought a particularly burly fairy two centuries ago. He was quite drunk. Unfortunately for him, I was drunker." Ash shook his head, regretting that he had begun rambling. "Yes. I will assist you. There will be no lackeys. Do not worry, I shall treat your sister with the utmost respect." With no visible effort, Ash carefully hoisted the body off the ground keeping his coat over it. It was noticeably lighter than he anticipated...no doubt due to its lack of...completion.

Thought this would be about the (vastly superior) console version of the game. It had, easily, the best saber combat out of any Star Wars game to date. Too bad we didn't get more games like it.

"Assist? Yes, that is what I am here for." Rhett could easily hear the impatience in Brianne's voice that reminded him of Ash. "I am here on behalf of Ash as he will not be joining us on our hunt." The werewolf looked over his shoulder, the scent of fresh fairy blood clear in the air, as he watched Ash cover the body of the girl who met her unfortunate end. "So, shall we get a move on before the trail gets cold?" His eyes wandered back over toward the older nephilim, Hendrik. The man looked to be the type of person who would shoot first and sort things out later which, to Rhett, was a good sign. If he did not have to be the one to kill Masque and anger the Shadow Hunters then that was fine by him.

Ash tilted his head at the sound of the threat coming from the fairy woman. A part of his curiosity insisted that he test her tenacity but he knew better than to waste time over such a trivial thing. "Relax. I'm the one who tried to bring some decency to your sister. Unless you'd rather me return her where I found her." Ash pointed towards where the girl's corpse had been hanging. "I am sorry for your kind's loss. Did you know this one?" Ash lifted his now-bloodied coat as to give Morrigan a view of the body.

Bad quality version of the trailer that was shown in the Action Time Report. Lots of info this time around but it'd be better to wait for things to be sorted out and written by people more coherent than me. For those who have the time:

"Dagny? That's an ironic name for a vampire." Ash finished tying the tourniquet on his bloodied arm and eyed the young girl standing before him. She had struck at him thinking him to be an invader due to his stolen uniform. It made perfect sense for a vampire to live in such a place with so little sunlight but for one to act so defensively for the humans they lived among? It would have been an amusing thought if he had not just witnessed so much bloodshed earlier in the day.

"And Ash is a better name?" She glared at him with piercing blue eyes.

"No." Ash stood up and brushed himself off, ignoring the pain in his leg. "Flee. You'll die while picking off lone soldiers."

"I can't do that. There are people I need to protect. If I cannot get them to safety before day comes-"

"They'll die regardless. I saw how poorly you fought. You've only made it this far because of what you are. Any other of your kind would have been able to do more than make me bleed if they had gotten the jump on me. Did your sire abandon you?" Before she could answer he continued. "No matter. Keeping a whole town alive is out of the question but together we can keep at least a few lives from being cut short." The vampire's expression changed to something Ash could not put a finger on, falling between somewhere between anger and...

Gone. Masque had fled the scene just as quickly as he had shown himself. Screams of horror echoed as onlookers pointed and gasped at the hanging corpse of the girl. All too late, his shadow had arrived and reunited with him but Ash was in no mood to listen to whatever news it brought. Just barely he could hear the angered voice of Brianne through the crowd. As always, a question he had asked himself came to mind. A question he had never given an answer to no matter how many forms it took in his mind. What was the point of the nephilim's existence? The answers anyone else would regurgitate were just things they were told to believe.

Now was not the time for the self-indulgence of his inner debate however. The headless body of a girl who did not deserve die was still fresh in the air. With a wordless command, his shadow was dispatched to bring her down to at least spare what little dignity a corpse could have. In seconds the body was brought to his feet leaving a trail of blood in its wake as a dark mass pulled it along. Downworlders cringed and backed away from him as he did this but Ash paid them no mind. He knelt down beside the girl's remains and placed his hand over the stump where her head had once rested. The scent of burnt flesh came to his nose as he cauterized the wound even though he knew little more blood would come now that her heart had stopped. He took a deep breath and pulled his hand away allowing it a moment to cool off.

The fairies would want the body back. It would only be a matter of time before one came seeking an inquiry. Ash's black eyes shifted towards the nephilim's direction. They were far too young to be dealing with such ancient creatures, the oldest of which would yet wish to call even Ash a child. He removed his coat and placed it over the girl's body before rising to stand.

"I came as soon as I..." A young man hunched over beside Ash, panting as he tried to catch his breath. "...Could..." He pressed his hands on his knees and stood, turning his head towards Ash's coat. "What's going on? I smell fairy blood. People are freaking out and I couldn't get here sooner because traffic was awful and I had to run and why is your coat on the floor, should I get that or should I-"

    "
That's enough, Rhett. Run on sentences are tiring to listen to and more so to read." Ash pointed towards the nephilim. "Go. You will act as my eyes and ears. Masque is loose in the city and the Shadow Hunters will require your assistance."

    "What about business?"

    "
Go. I shall worry about that." Ash grabbed Rhett's arm, lowering his voice so only his assistant could hear. "If any of them captures him alive, you must correct their lapse of judgment. Am I understood?"

Rhett's eyes widened but the werewolf nodded in response. "Yes...uh...sir." Without another word he wandered towards Brianne and the others.

Already nearly a century of war into his life and the young warlock had already grown tired of bloodshed. Ash brushed off the snow from the blue Swedish uniform he had stolen and adjusted the saber at his hip. Taking a moment to inspect the musket from the dead soldier he slung the gun over to his back. The uniform was a tight fit as the soldier he had just slain was of smaller stature than himself but it would do for now. Escaping the unprovoked wrath of the Swedish army was his main concern now. The town in which he had stayed was already a loss and despite how he hatted to admit it there was nothing he could do. Even with his "special abilities" he knew he had no chance to stop the advance of an entire army. Ash's black eyes fell upon the rising plumes of smoke in the distance. The sound of snow crunching under a footstep snapped him back to reality. He drew his blade instinctively just as a figure closed in on him at a breakneck speed.

"Apprehended? Don't bother. Kill him where he stands if you get the chance." Ash looked up from the reflection of the orb of light that was cast on the table and stared at the young nephilim as she started to leave. "I am not apathetic to your cause." He stated plainly, sensing her apprehension towards his indifference of the situation. "Those who do evil tend to die horribly. One way or another, Masque will not live forever." As he spoke those last words the sound of air cracking as a tiny, yet familiar explosion, was set off close enough to break through the droning soundscape of the club. It was the sound of gunfire.

The orb of light disappeared as quickly as it had materialized as Ash rose from his seat in the booth and pushed past the curtain and into a throng of panicked Downworlders doing their damnedest to escape with their lives. Not far outside, he caught a glimpse of another Shadow Hunter he could recognize. Of course they would send two. Rather than pay him any more attention, Ash maneuvered himself to an exit. To think that Masque would be so bold to make a killing in such a public place...it sounded almost too typical. Without his shadow, he could only place himself at one exit but it would have to do. Keeping Masque from leaving was of more importance than trying to make contact through the mess he had just created.

Ash kept from drawing his weapon. There would be no need for him to reach for it. If the warlock had not already fled the scene the two nephilim just might have gained their chance to take a crack at slaying a monster.

"We gave you a chance to stand down, Ultron! You wasted it!" The metal menace had gone too far. As he could hear from Iron Man's talk with FRIDAY, the whole place was being taken for a "ride". Though it was too late to abort what Ultron had done Superman had every intention of aborting that abomination of science. Superman unleashed a massive torrent of heat from his eyes, the red beams speeding towards his foe. One quick burst was all he needed in his attempt to catch Ultron off guard with Superman immediately speeding to the side and circling to flank him before charging in to throw one superpunch right at the side of Ultron's face as soon as he was done tanking the heat beam.

    ------------------------------------

Ghost Rider stood still as the Ranger circled about him, staring at him like some kind of freak of nature(which he was). "THE ONLY THING REPULSIVE ARE THE ACTIONS OF A CHILD FOLLOWING A MAD MACHINE." The Green Ranger lunged at him and the Rider made no attempt whatsoever to move or dodge, it was far too late for him anyways to make such an evasion. Unfortunately, with that single attack the Green Ranger defeated the Rider.......'s jacket. A large hole was torn in the leather where the dagger had been plunged and Ghost Rider looked down where the blade was buried, tilting his skull to examine the scratched ribs it had become lodged between. "MY JACKET." He drew his fist back, the sounds of his bones cracking as his fingers balled into a fist before he struck the Ranger right in the gut and began to rain blows on him while the blade was still stuck in his ribs.

    ------------------------------------

The scarab's sensors caught onto what Catwoman was doing before she even made her attack. Being a machine, the scarab cared not for making a witty retort and, instead, simply reacted by gripping the whip just as it reached its arm and yanked the woman right out of the air. As she plummeted in the direction of Blue Beetle, it fired yet another blast up at her from its other arm. "Stop!" Jaime shouted behind his helmet wishing he could command the scarab to cease its assault. Even if he was not "behind the wheel" if Catwoman were to be killed he would feel the guilt all the same. "Stop fighting her!" He pleaded. "We don't have to do this!"

"What do you mean Rhett still hasn't finished?" Pitch black eyes narrowed at the ground where his shadow lay, its movements not matching his own as it gave a shrug in response. "What does it matter than I sent him to trade with a vampire? He's more than competent enough to get something simple like that done." Ash watched as his shadow waved its arms about in a vague attempt to explain what had been going wrong when a familiar young woman's voice came into earshot calling his name. His shadow instantly resumed its normal "position" as the warlock turned his attention towards the girl.

    "
Masque?" He scratched his chin. "I've done some work in keeping tabs on that one. Well, at least I have tried to do so in case he ever directly interfered with my line of work. Truthfully, he appears to be more slippery than a vampire. You've given me a good enough reason to assist you but all the sweet talking in the world will not allow me to suddenly know where he is at this moment." He snapped his fingers, causing a dim white orb of light to form above their heads to brighten up the all too moody scenery of the booth.

    "
Have a seat. Perhaps when my assistant returns he'll have some news that will be of interest to you. If nothing else, I'm sure having a werewolf at your side will make hunting a much smoother process than going about it alone." Ash's eyes flicked back towards his shadow and, without a single word, it fled the area to retrieve Rhett from the meeting he had sent him to. Surely by now it would have been over. "As much as I would like to join you in wiping out one of demonkind's problem children, I have a great deal of other business to attend to. I'm expecting to meet one very ancient Egyptian vampire, his clan, and his fairy bride-to-be in an hour. They are involved in some ritual that would take far too many hours for me to explain and, needless to say, my involvement is--somehow--necessary." He let out a bored sigh.

    "
Anyway, if you are in town then surely you must have had a lead Masque would be too. If you tell me about your source I may be able to give you some better insight, Miss Lightwood."

    *cough*

    Character Name: Rhett Alban
    Age: 32
    Gender: Male
    Race: Werewolf
    Appearance:
    B)
Backstory: As a young teenager, Rhett found himself in trouble quite often. The one who had turned him abandoned him the moment he could show that he could, at least partially, control his Change. Upon finding himself unable to repay a debt to a fairy and about to face punishment, a warlock intervened and paid his debt for him before vanishing before the man could introduce himself. Time passed as Rhett took up several odd jobs here and there in the Mundane world after having seen how troubling it was to be living among Downworlders. He moved from town to town, never truly belonging anywhere and refusing to be part of a pack, before finding a relatively safe job as a flight instructor.
Years later, Rhett was framed for the death of a vampire clan leader. After being chased and backed into a corner by those the vampire had sired and a Shadow Hunter wishing to kill him in order to keep the peace, A warlock stepped out of the shadows and provided evidence proving Rhett's innocence. Rhett recognized this warlock as the same one who had saved him before. Feeling an enormous need to repay him, Rhett became his assistant...despite the fact that doing so would mean being around vampires. The warlock had introduced himself to Rhett as Ash. Rhett is incredibly loyal and keeps a light attitude which only opens up further when Ash is not around.
    Weapons: A revolver.
    Magic: N/A
Other: Creator is alive but gone. Rhett has been in Ash's service for five years now. He struggles to transform at will due to his lack of training and extended amount of time away from other werewolves.
