I've tried to get as much info on the series as possible, but I've only ever played Zero and ZX. I know the basic structure of ZX Advent story, but I found that it seemed to get the story across more than the Zero games did. If nothing else the zero games at least have something that leads into ZX/Advent

Though with YGO Pro it's useful to have everything automated just for the sake of ease. Imagine if you had to play all the yugioh world championship games, or even some of the GBA games and had to do everything manually. That'd be a pain in the butt, it already is on Dueling Network

That's exactly why I stopped using Dueling Network unless it was someone I knew and could tell how to do something correctly. People would always use cards the wrong way and argue with you on the effect, or they would ignore you altogether and just do things their way.

Looks more useful than Dueling Network, that's for sure

Well, it depends on how you look at it. If you don't care about finding out why people are where they are in the first game, you don't need to worry about it. If you're interested in learning how the whole series started out and why, then it's the game to start with. It's not the best game, I'll agree, but it's worth it to learn more about stories and stuff. The wii release cut the story down to the bone giving no clarification of what was going on, but it does let you see what happens a little more between the two games
