I am super picky about fanart I like and it's so awful. I usually prefer ones that stick to the style of the original and/or are like cutesy little doodles. I don't really like realistic representations of cartoon characters all that often, and vice versa with real people. I don't really talk about it ever and just skip over it without a word, but stuff like that's just usually not my cup of tea.

I think HoT's point still kinda applies. A few people, that I've been around at least, when they get super into drawing and also watch cartoons, start out with those anime/manga sketchbooks that walk you through how to draw specifically in that style. It may just be easier for them at that point to do that, because they've gotten more accustomed to doing it than the more clean/simple style of stuff like Regular Show or Adventure Time. Though, that fanart is also from DeviantArt, so tbf it's not too surprising there's a surplus of the anime style stuff, lol.

    Obviously, same here as well.

Agreed. I do find it taxing to see people hop in with "WHAT ABOUT [MEN/WOMEN]" in something that is specifically in regards to one of the two sexes. There's a more appropriate way of doing it that opens up discussion, but that only comes off as complaining.

On the statistics being crappy at conveying what's actually going on, they are also very wrongly categorized in some cases. I discussed it more in depth in an earlier thread, but basically rape, as seen by the US government, is held as "forced penetration" which obviously skews things towards most perpetrators being male, while being made to penetrate is simply sexual abuse, when non-consenting sex in general should be classified as rape.

I kind of disagree here. I think feminism has definitely grown to become more about gender equality in society, but there are some feminists who do make the environment of feminism uncomfortable for men, other woman, and so on/so forth. It is the reason why I don't mind the men's right movement, egalitarian movements and whatever else is out there.

Civil rights for Black Americans in the past also had similar divisions, notably King's perspective of nonviolence and Malcolm X's very staunch attitude on white people vs black people up until a few years before his assassination. I believe people should be able to have the rigth to different sects of equality if they're working in a way that is not counter-productive to the overall end goal in sight. Clash between groups is inevitable, but I don't think people should be forced onto or told that one specific path is the sole right way while another as something to not be taken seriously at all (Which, although I'm skimming the article rn I see some things said about the MRM that I do have some heavy qualms with & can bring up if you wanna discuss this further).

If people want to identify as feminist, men's rights activist, egalitarian, any, or neither, I think they should be free to do so. As long as they are working towards the goal of gender equality and equality between the sexes and righting the socio-econimic, political plights women face and the judiciary issues men face, I don't see the problem in one label over another, especially if they're made to feel unwanted or lesser in one of the certain groups.

    Also agreed.

My heroine is back, Nui's ass flew and I'll be goddamned if Ragyo's won't too.

    where to even start

The first minute and a half before the OP was so uncomfortable. I thought it was bad before, but yeesh. I wish I could live my life without knowing Ragyo tongues Nui every now and then. And that she apparently sucks (there is no goddamn way to not accidentally pun with these Kiryuins s2g) compared to Ryuko. Hououmaru looked like such a qt pie though, awww.

Satsuki not syncing with Senketsu wasn't surprising considering, well, Satsuki, but it was rad seeing her use all of Senketsu's forms like that. Blade Gale/Senjin Shippu was tight as hell. AND THEN NUDIST BEACH SATSUKI going toe to toe with Nui, and then she & the E4 cutting off her theme with the Holy Trumpets. I always wanted to see Ryuko kick her ass, but not like this. Never like this. :(

THOUGH LET ME TALK ABOUT MAKO

    MAKO MANKANSHOKU

    MAKO "lol, death flags" MANKANSHOKU.

There were like three times this episode where I thought she'd get killed. I was a little relieved after Senketsu put himself on her, but then

RYUKO RIPPING OFF JUNKETSU WHILE IT WAS ATTACHED TO HER SKIN was so raw and perfect for her character. Ryuko is reborn, and Nui's about to get her saprkel ass stomped. I'm somewhat concerned about the Shinra Koketsu and Ragyo & the Giant JPEG Artifact, but for now Ryuko is back, Satsuki's still best woman, Mako is alive, Broketsu saved the day, and our Way Status is intact.

Hullo kids. As I'm sure all of you are aware and care very passionately/not very much at all, Mish has hit me on the head and told me to manage QT while she hopped on a train into the sunset. There was a joyful BGM to accompany the scene and we were both moved to tears. And you all missed it.

Anyway, I am posting here to make a slight tweak to the QT Poll system (cue Mish twitching). Normally, if a participant were in danger of removal, you could vote for them and they would stay on the poll until they got into the danger zone again. From this moment forward, though, if said member is saved and does NOT get a vote for the following week, they will be bumped down on the list of people waiting to get onto the poll.

PLUMS YOU FASCIST! HOW DARE YOU DO SUCH A THING?!

Because I always wanted to be a European authoritarian. B) That, and also it gives a chance for more people to be placed on the poll. As it is now, only one new face has been showing up on the poll per week, and we need to advertise these little qt (<---- see what I did there see, I am very ashamed of this) members to the world. Don't worry though! Just because they get moved to the bottom of the list, doesn't mean you'll never see their wee lil faces back on the big screen (poll???).

This is a rather tiny change, but one I think should be able to get things moving along quicker.

    Also I nominate:

The point they're both making is that just because you can do something well, it doesn't mean that you can't mess up if you're careless. Just because I can use a stove doesn't mean I should just have my hand carelessly floating around one of the burners.

KH relationshippy things are all pretty ambiguous aside from the obvious Sora/Kairi. Personally I'd say Riku and Sora are more like brothers. They've known each other for quite a long time, so naturally Sora was very worried about him when Riku just disappeared and then began to dabble in darkness. People always say that he was overreacting when he found Riku in KH2/Kairi meant nothing in comparison to him, but at that point Sora hadn't seen Riku in a year, and that last time Riku was in the Dark Realm with a horde of Heartless to keep at bay.

Overall, I'd say it's more of a deep rooted bond they have between them. Both are willing, and have comitted, themselves to going to great lengths to protect the other one time and time again. This is also applicable for Kairi, even if she hasn't been given as much a chance in the narrative to go the distance as Sora and Riku have for the other two in the past.

Well, it doesn't have to be something that directly affects you. I've written argumentative papers on things I honestly couldn't get into, and it turned out pretty well. Given your interests, you could probably talk about something like video games: are they art or not, gendered writing in television with a focus on like...Doctor Who or something (inb4misty), or you could talk about an issue from the past that piques your interest.

Full on Empathy. Think like Rogue's powers, but instead of absorbing other people's physical strength/abilities, you get a thorough and complete understanding of them. Their joys, their regrets, their hopes, dreams, the number of times they've hit their toe on a desk; you'd know all of it. You'd be able to truly and fully connect with anyone, really. You would neverbe in need of social movements or anything of the like because everyone could understand one another.

But at the same time, I would really hate that, lol. We are built, or at the very least built ourselves, to be a people of conflict. Of struggle. If we could connect wholly with another person at a single touch, where is the fulfillment in the relationship? Where is the feeling of satisfaction at watching you and another person grow to build that attachment? And separately but probably one of the more pressing ones, how much of another person(s) can you take on before you start to lose yourself?

I think about this kind of thing more than I'd like to admit

If I had to give an uncontested yes though, I would love air manipulation or shit like shadow clones. Passively absorbing knowledge from my clones while I do my own learning or exploring? Hell yes.
