I watched Frozen the other day and it was okay. I thought the pacing was kinda bad though (they climbed the mountain in not much time at all & eternal winter exploded right after Hans apprehended Elsa). I also wanted to see more of what Elsa was doing by herself in her ice castle. I liked Anna, but it just seemed like Elsa got pushed aside after she escaped the village and Annaruto let it go, and didn't get touched on again until near the end of the film when Hans brought her back. Let it Go was nice but the trolls' song was top tier for me.
Ahhhh, I see what you mean now. I thought you had meant that pants were wrong to be considered the normal and I was just like "but everyone wears pants, lol". But yeah, I agree with that point. To be fair, I don't think we'll likely see a change in that stigma for men to wear skirts/other things traditionally geared at women for a while, if only because the current general populace is socialized to separate the two, but attitudes are slowly changing and it should be a welcomed occurance in the (hopefully near) future.
I think What? has read the full novel, but then again, that's not all that shocking. :b Anyway, I agree with the storytelling point. A book -> film adaption cannot be expected to be condensed into an 90 minute film and follow the whole plot of the book word for word. This happens too with novels -> TV shows, TV shows -> movies, and so on, so forth. I do think that some very faithful adaptions (e.g. FMA: Brotherhood, though that's manga -> anime) was really good. There can be too many cuts made to a film though. The sixth Harry Potter movie was my first thought, since it completely cut out the scene of Fawkes' song and Dumbledore's funeral from the book; the former is whatever, but the funeral is pretty significant, even if only just because it's Dumbledore's.
I agree with this, but I also don't think it's too much of a negative thing to refer to pants as a 'default bottom clothing' for comparison's sake. Most people one tends to run into in their everyday life in the modern age have worn/continue to wear pants regularly, I can see why people often think of pants first as opposed to skirts/dresses. That said, I do think people should acknowledge those as just as 'normal' clothing for all people, but pants as a general usage isn't bad imo. i don't know where i went with this i had been thinking about it & felt compelled to reply lol
ASSUMING THIS IS ABOUT HER, I have seen it, greatly enjoyed it, and I disagree with what those Tumblr posts said, lol. Without going into too many spoilers, there are elements of the MPDG in Samantha & the other OSes in the beginning (which considering the fact they're stated to be sold expressly for lonely people right within the first 20 minutes of the film is like "yea and????"). But Samantha's character, and the nature of the OSes in general, gets fleshed out more throughout the film. I hesitate to confidently call it a full subversion of the trope, as the film doesn't delve into the full complexity of Samantha's character (namely her existence as both trying to be more human yet also being a machine), but I would definitely not say it's MPDG game is at 100%.
I would imagine they're basically shorts without the separate pant holes.

I saw this a few minutes ago and it made me laugh way too hard. If someone actually dubs all of Kill la Kill like that, it would be perfect.

You'd definitely get a loooot of helpful advice from @Ars Nova, he is excellent with class building.
The Hate ship won't sail itself.
Spoiler Even with him revealing he was a Super Bloodbender, I still don't think that hypocritical thing really invalidated his stance in any way. I really believed they could've worked with that if they fleshed everything out more. It was all there but they just dropped the ball. Hard. Though idek if I prefer this ending or Book 2's. Book 2 did some things better than Book 1, but it was still pretty blah.
I really only tend to watch Nickelodean when Korra is airing (which I don't have much of a choice because the Nick webplayer SUCKS).
