How is it already the first week of August? Where did my summer go??
Cat was practically lost in thought as she waited for everyone to draw their straws. The anticipation wasn't helping her nerves, but suddenly she heard Kuma shout from a distance. She looked up to a hill, seeing him and two other guys -- one who seemed to be wearing armor and the one that Kuma was grabbing. He reminded her an awful lot of Vanitas, and if they were allied that only meant trouble was close behind. Karina ran towards him, seeming to hold a grudge, but was stopped by an invisible wall. She sighed, relieved that he couldn't charge at them at the very least, and listened to the armored man shout for them to head to the library. She nodded and quickly tensed up when she saw a Behemoth appear in front of them. Karina, for all her talk and tantrums, was the first one to run with a girl in tow. Kel spoke up and she realized that as much as she needed to take the mark, it clearly wasn't happening anytime soon. "Guess this gives a whole new meaning to 'run for your life,' huh?" And on that note, she retreated back to the Hall of Records.
I do apologize for not posting a reminder -- this week has been pretty hectic on my end. As an apology, I'll extend the deadline another week. If anyone might need longer, please do let me know.
So I got the weird urge to play through some old Scooby-Doo PC games and I just had a nostalgia attack All the CD's of kids games are right behind me and I feel kinda weird wanting to play them all again...
Don't be so sure. Games that have been out of print and were "cult classics" can go for a lot. You'd be surprised what people are willing to pay for physical copies.
always the wrong Cat... but yeah, I'll be sure to remind you
ur stealin' my schtick, dru but yeah, happy birthday cherry~
GotG was funny and full of action and just incredible Probably my new favorite Marvel movie no question And Groot is a baby and I need a plush of him asap
waiting for Guardians of the Galaxy to start i really do expect an Age of Ultron TEASER at least (and i want a high quality RDJ/James Spader voiceover at least) marvel why do you hurt me this way??
look to the left of this post yep, that's it
My issue with this is that manga and anime aren't exactly cheap. Even when things are localized, I've seen a single volume of the Attack on Titan manga go for $11 a pop everywhere. I'd pay that much for one of those 3-in-1 volumes that Shonen Jump is releasing for their big franchises like Bleach and Naruto, but not for a single volume. If they take down these sites, there's no real way to get the shows out to the public. American tv really only shows reruns, and even then the only shows that get any kind of decent slot are already well-established (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Beyblade, DragonBall Z, etc.). I know Adult Swim shows some newer anime, but most people like to try out a show on their own time without having to pay. Taking down these websites only hurts Japan in the long run. If it weren't for sites like this, stuff like AoT wouldn't really have a chance to get big in the West. If people can't watch, they can't rave and show the creators that localizing a series would be profitable. It's a vicious cycle, but in the end it's a "necessary evil" of sorts.

Cat looked at Beuce as he put on his "thinking cap" and pulled out the straws. Kuma seemed pleased with the method, and Karina and Kel took their straws first. She was afraid of failing since this was all a matter of chance, but as she went in to grab her straw, Glen swooped in and took it instead. He promptly tried giving a speech to show off some kind of bravado, but he only ended up coming off as childish. He openly called her out, and she grinned. She was sick of him and his pretentious little self. "You wanna take the mark? Really?" She didn't move from her spot. "You got drunk in Corona, and even without any booze you just act like a child. If you're just doing this on a whim, what kind of person does that make you?" She felt nothing but contempt for him. He was exactly the kind of person she couldn't stand. He'd only shown some semblance of real resolve once in Corona, and that was when she'd mentioned his daddy issues. She didn't want to take it there now though -- if she did, she'd be no better than him. "Hopping up out of the blue isn't exactly courteous when we've been discussing this. Then again, it's not like anyone ever taught you manners anyway." She left it at that and looked to Beuce's hand. She took a moment to debate and finally grabbed a straw. Even if it wasn't good enough, she'd beg Kuma for a chance. She needed this, not for herself, but... there was no way she'd lose this chance.
http://doctor-dean-winchester.tumblr.com Lots of tv shows + films and currently a crap ton of stuff from comic con. All the stuff I reblog is pretty much there on the page (though major spoiler warnings for S10 of Supernatural if you care; proceed with caution)
She looked to Beuce when he offered to take it in her place and shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I have to do it myself." She took a deep breath and collected her thoughts. "You want to help Seiza, and I can respect that, but what if the guardians' wisdom is only good for one use? I just... I have to do it myself." She knew bringing it up was a bad idea, but how else was she supposed to convince him? Everyone had their reasons for wanting to take the exam, but she'd already wasted too much time. This was the last hope she had, and she'd be damned if she didn't try her hardest to take it. "Really, I'm sorry," she said softly. Since they'd arrived, everything had just been a mix of disappointment and regret. She just wanted to be free of it.
Cat walked along with the boys, the idle chatter distracting her from her earlier outburst. She felt a bit better already, and she tried not to think about ultimatums, but the truth was undeniable: if it came down to it, she had to be the one to defeat the light guardian on her own. The thought of taking on such a legendary beast scared her, that was for sure, but she had to save her... no matter the cost. They walked out to the training grounds, and she saw Glen comforting a distraught Eon. Karina was standing around, looking as upset as ever, and someone else she didn't recognize was there as well. Suddenly, they were approached by a burly giant. He seemed to be praising Eon while sympathizing with him, and before she had time to think, Beuce questioned him about the Mark of Mastery. This was the Kuma they'd been searching out, and she was definitely intimidated by him in more ways than one. Eventually he stated that he would only give the mark to three of them. Karina and Kel spoke up and she quickly stepped forward. "I can't afford to lose this chance. I need to take the exam and face the light guardian." She spoke matter of factly, not daring to look away from Kuma -- partly to prove her resolve to him and partly not to look at any other wielders that he was taking the chance away from. "I'm not just doing this for myself," she said. She wasn't really directing it to anyone in particular at this point. Just whoever would listen. "I swore when I left that I'd find a way to save her, and the more I look the more it seems like this is the only way. So please, let me take the test."
