MAYBE I SHOULD GET SOME CHICKEN FRIES BEFORE DECIDING Maybe if we talk about raining money on Skype, then it will come[DOUBLEPOST=1411245575][/DOUBLEPOST] Let's not be aggressive here. Let's keep it about the images posted and be rational.
...
See, that is joke though. I don't think that way, and I actually that thinking that way creates problems, hostility, and a lot of unneeded aggression. It can be toxic and it can make people who're "privileged" re-evaluate a life of their's when there's no need- like if they're being told to check their privilege by someone who lives in a three story home while they have to privilege check from their trailer. I'm a big fan of context. Appreciate ya' re-reading, at least you agreed with the more serious stuff I said :)
Well, I guess I appreciate the thought, but I still don't feel I've earned your likes. Reading your posts, it's clear to me you wouldn't appreciate my beliefs on the matter or any similar manner
That's why I used Frog, too. Frog and Crono brute forced with dual techs, and Magus spammed strong magic and strength. He's useful, but I'll give you that he's also crippling.
Okay, I appreciate the compliment, thank you! ...but that didn't give me a full answer to my question (I'm honestly not sure if that was a yes or no), so I'll just warn you just in case you made any assumptions: "check your privilege" was entirely facetious on my part, almost to the point of mocking those who say it as a means of censoring people. I gave a full explanation in response to "61" on page 3 or 4, but yeah, I didn't actually mean I should check my privilege, and nor should Busa..
But... But Frog. And Magus .___.[DOUBLEPOST=1411187421][/DOUBLEPOST] I can't tell... but did you like my posts because I told myself and Busa to check our privilege?
How did I forget Celes... She has one of the most important scenes in vidya.
Eh, can't all be on top of our examples like me *shades* Honestly though, of all the franchises to be mad about for not being diverse, FF is not a criminal here as it's already done its part. We played as monkey in one game ffs, ya know? It's not like, say, Tales where it's a repeat offender since inception. Nah, it's been on top of the being diverse thing since VI, and I just don't wanna go back further.
I disagree. A lot of FFs are about the female character. The journey wouldn't exist without Yuna, Tifa and Aerith are incredibly big roles in VII, Rinoa is the source of conflict of her game, Ashe is the entirety of XII's plot, Terra's the MC and becomes a god, Lightning and Serah are the focal points of their games, and Dagger is where the plot of FFIX lives and dies. If FFXV is actually all about the boys this time, that would actually be diverse for FF given how many of the games are about the player supporting the female lead while she changes the world, if you're not already that female lead. If it's not, and I'm sure it's not, then there was a stir over nothing.
Have you not heard the good word? The good word of our blessed Dorito Pope?
Facial hair matches pube color. ;)
As much as I want to just take the easy way out and agree with you, I'm wired in that weird way where I can't. If someone is discussing something with me, and they tell me to check my privilege then I'll ask questions on the why. As long as they aren't saying it as a means to take away my voice on a subject, I'll listen and consider what they're saying. Because if they truly feel oppressed and see me living some privileged life, they'll want to express that and I want to hear that (evenifmaybeidont) I wrote that because I used the phrase as a joke twice here and people who use it legitimately would probably be upset if they thought I was dismissing it. Nah, I'm just mocking the attempt at censorship that comes with some uses.[DOUBLEPOST=1411156725][/DOUBLEPOST] On that day.... Suddenly pictures of the staff would appear on my cork board and a red marker ready to X the ones that I've taken down.
Check my edit.
Check your privilege. You don't get to talk about how human you feel a character is if they're your gender because your gender is well represented. Or some shit like that. I don't know. Who actually believes I'm being serious right now? But seriously, most game protags are written like someone who's on the outside looking in- it's why Shepard is able to always be a pillar of correct choices unless the player judges too rationally. It's much different when you have consider a kneejerk reaction. Player characters also always have bitchin' sense of directions and always know how to be cool or at the very least collected- even when they're being mocked (Chrono Trigger, FFX, Alan Wake). Even able to laugh off serious murder where in real life that type of behavior would be sociopathic (Uncharted). It's because of escapism practices. Both designers and writers use satisfaction as that means of escapism. I won't point out if it's good or bad because it's really none of my business how you choose to escape reality for a few hours. If you want escapsism in the means of a average person in t-shirts and jeans, do it up. In fact, it probably means you should play Persona as there's a lot of enchanted elements there, even if it has a really grounded presentation.
I've always subscribed to the belief that I don't need to have the same genitalia as my character to connect to them. For instance, the new Lara Croft and Samus. I also really like Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII because she's a socially strong character. But ya know what, fuck me. I better check my privilege.
Correcting you because wrong. They're story characters, at least claimed to be. Also, the doubling the workload thing was absolutely true. Google the amount of animations in ACIV. Then say "holy shit." Then realize they're probably doubling that for this game. Then realize they'd have to do all that again to make thinner models and be accurate to a more feminine body and recreate hitboxes on the clothes, environments, etc. It wouldn't just double their workload, the complaint came too late- it'd delay the game, which would increase the budget and probably cost jobs considering how many studios are already on that pile of crap. They used crap excuses, but ya know what, at least they were honest about it in my boo.
THIS ONE TOO
>No problem here >Assassin's Creed Unity .... No one is seeing a correlation between this event and that one? No one HERE is seeing that they may have been on a different side then? Maybe because now a game they're looking forward to is under the gun? Arright, cool, peace. For the record, I have no issue with it. If the writer envisioned his characters as male, changing them for public opinion would be a crime against the art of writing.
I wonder if a user has that name... Like, I wonder enough to be curious, but not enough to check.
