It depends on what I hear first. I watched DB/Z as a kid and wholly prefer the English dub (though there are some voice changes I really don't like in Kai, lol). The same happened when I watched Gurren Lagann back in 2011; I remember watching the second movie and feeling kinda strange since the voices didn't match what I was used to. That said, I still had a ****ing kickass time and Simon sounded just as great in both sub and dub. Another instance of this happened with Code Geass; I had been watching the English dub up until the last three episodes I think? Then I watched the subbed version of the "ALL HAIL LELOUCH" episode and was just like "damn. DAMN." After that, I caught the dub episode and thought the delivery in that scene wasn't as good, lol.

So yeah. In the cases of where I've seen the sub first, I usually prefer that because it's both A). something I get to grow with while I B). watch it for the first time. Those two factors are probably the most important for me in whichever I like best.

Ryuko is pretty rough; VA is pretty new to the scene though, so hopefully she'll get used to it. Ryuko's original VA was fantastic so I'm trying to not compare too much. SATSUKI IS MOKUBA KAIBA AND THAT'S THE WEIRDEST THING. Senketsu is ehhhHHHHhhh. I wish they got the guy who sang some of the OST tracks to do it -- he would've been pretty nice. Mako sounds really annoying though. Sanageyama is kinda weird, but I like his and Nanon Jacuzzi's VAs. Patrick Seitz sounds too similar to the guy in AoT in this trailer, but hopefully that's not the case with the whole show.

Not too impressive right now, but not as bad as I was bracing myself for. Pretty much what Janime said.

tbh aniplex should use the underwater subs' presentation

Hey everyone, Stardust totally reminded me of this today, and it was something that should've been addressed. As you know and can see, we've hired the new staff recruits, and thus this process of hiring has formally ended. Unfortunately, this means that rejection PMs were to be sent out to those who were not hired this round, but even worse is that I had forgotten to send them when I had planned to wayyy back in April. I am so sorry, you guys. It's very likely I forgot because of school stuff, but that's not a good excuse.

This time, starting tonight, I will be gradually sending them out to folk. As per tradition, if you want elaboration on the rejection and so on, you are more than certainly free to ask. Again, I am very sorry for the long wait on this, and will get them out as soon as I can.

Chalk Zone was my JAM, I always liked watching it whenever it came on.
I'm not too sure if I agree. Those are two overarching plotlines you can find in quite a number of things, but imo it matters on how you present those struggles and how that effects the plot. What if there is no government and the characters have to work to establish one themselves? What if being parapalegic was much more common in this society, and there was a biopolitical divide between parapalegics and those who could walk around freely?

You can have the same umbrella plot (e.g. Death Note & Code Geass*; "Morally questionable protagonist takes to changing the world as they see best"), but have very different ways of exploring it.

    * acknowledging this could be a bad comparison, but it was the only thing that came to mind while I was typing this, lol

Considering Ven is currently safe and was shown to be content after defeating Vanitas, and a great deal of Terra's issues were self inflicted (and he seemed pretty confident he could beat Xehanort out in the BBS secret ending), I have to go with Aqua.

Not only did she lose her home and her master, but she had to fight both of her best friends and ultimately failed to save them. Although this later did prove to be a good thing, as it kept Xehanort at bay for a little bit if time, she must have felt absolutely terrible for the 10-11 years she's been in the RoD -- all of this happening right after she was bumped up to Mastery. Worst grad present by far.

Yeah, I dunno how I feel about it either. I do admit when the Sage name dropped her again and described her more, I thought she was kinda interesting & was expecting her to show up in some way. The tree talking and then her face castin' shade over the whole world last chapter solidified it more, but it is really shaky grounds to change around the big bad this late -- especially given that we don't know about her motivations or anything.

I'm assuming she's gonna use the chakra of everyone trapped to make the fruit and eat it...but what comes after that? Not too big into Madara either, but the guy at least had a solid enough plan. Hopefully the plot's able to just slide smoothly into whatever ****ed up plans Sasuke has after she's beat.

also tsunade's and gaara's dream were so sad
    kiba's was ****ing hilarious

The only fight scenes I've ever written have been for the Blood of the Cascade/Cascadia, but I typically end up writing them in a more camera man approach. For me, I've found it easier, I guess, backstepping from the character and giving a clear cut and simple description of what each character is doing. I've always thought about doing one solely from one of the character's heads, although it is kind of an adjustment to make since I've never really written from that point before, and it'd take some practice before I'm comfortable rolling into it.

I think this sounds like a good idea! It's very reminiscent of Signature of the Week, which with the mandatory critique for participants and lack of a length limit, should work well in building and keeping a consistent get together of writers on the site.

    Question Time with...

    luminous!

A couple of guidelines before you begin..

1 - Keep it within the rules of the forum, nothing over PG-13. This is still KHV, which means that you must not use this thread as an excuse to berate or harass the Question Time participant. That being said...

2 - ...The Question Time participant does not have to answer all of the questions.

3 - The Question Time participant must maintain some level of activity within this thread. Don't leave all of your questions unanswered. You're in the spotlight, baby, so shine!

4 - Give the Question Time participant some time to answer, and let others have a chance to ask. Remember that they are in the spotlight for at least one week, so do not feel the need to barrage him/her with a lengthy list of questions all at once.

And now that you have read the rules, you may ask away!~

    WE IN DERE LIKE

The podcast ones were removed iirc due to them happening not too often, but since they're weekly now I could see it working.

    Maybe'd.

iirc @Jayn wasn't entirely for it last year because of things going kind of slow on RPA last year and only like...two people qualifying for this, would have to ask her again to see.

    Maybe'd.

Saltiest might be a no, but if people feel strongly about it, I wouldn't be too opposed to it.

    Most Articulate has been Maybe'd.

Maybe'd, though maybe 'Most Hedonistic" could be a more apt title. Ierno.

    Already there.

    Maybe'd.

    Maybe'd.

    Maybe'd.

    Nah.

    obviously you and sax Nah.

Pfff, nah. EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD BE ME *twerk*

    Nah.

Encompassed under "Most Likely to be a Superhero"

I kinda feel like Best Profile encompasses this already.

    Fits under Best Profile.

Already have Best Graphic Artist, Worst I have to say no to since we require samples for the art awards, and it could be embarrassing/dickish to do.

Fits with 'Most Verbose,' which I believe we have still. Need to check.

    Fits with 'Biggest Flirt'

    Fits with 'Hottest Male/Female'

    Maybe'd.

    Maybe'd.

This probably won't happen since there were some people who have taken offense in the past. By the nature of nominations, people don't really know if they've been nominated, and for the 'Worst' categories that seeing that have been a little hurtful and jarring to some. With self-nominations, the people participating expect to be on the poll & know that the nomination is all in jest. If you and others feel strongly about it, I am willing to listen and consider it, but as of the moment I'm siding with self-nominations.

    Kinda fits under villain.

Explained my reasoning above, and the offer there applies.
