    Book 4 Title revealed.

Rumor has it that all production for Book 4 will probably be finished by the end of the year, so we could see the final installment to Korra as early as January. On one hand it's exciting, but I'm also gonna miss all the fanart and stuff that usually come with the longer hiatuses :C (Hiatus until Book 2 was absolutely unacceptable tho). Really hoping Nick doesn't bumrush through Book 4 like they did with Book 3, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I will be the guy in the background with some form of accessory that causes a weird Easter egg juxtaposition of the differences in time period between the fictional world presented and our own

Apparently, Australia's promotional commercial for Book 3 had clips from Book 4 within it. Would urge ya not to watch it if you haven't finished Book 3 already, just to be safe. But it seemingly hints at a possible ominous role for a character we've seen in the show already:

Zelda Williams' character, Kuvira, who's the lead guard (and one of the Metalbending dance performers) under Suyin Beifong in Zaofu.

It was definitely pretty obvious there was something suspicious about her when she got that pretty extended screentime and name drop out of nowhere in the finale. I wish they'd done it earlier in the season so it felt more natural (show her interact with Suyin and Korra more, **** even have Korra thank her for helping save her from the RL back when they invaded Zaofu or be the one teaching Korra Metalbending), since it does feel pretty shoe horned in. Regardless, I'm excited to see what she's going to be up to. Bryan said that Book 4 will tie in with Book 3 a lot, so Red Lotus connection is a definite possibility.

plus a major female antagonist i've been waiting for azula's successor for so long :')

As a lot of people have said, the logo does look like a racing game lol. Persona 5: Grand Prix confirmed.

Really digging what is presumably the MC's look, looks a lot more normal than the other Persona protags so far (even tho I like Yu and FeMC's designs a lot, lol). The animation also has proportional bodies thank god. Even though it was tolerable in P3/P4, it was getting tiring seeing everyone with waists for days. Atmosphere definitely feels different from the previous two games, which is a nice change of pace. P3 was heavy with death and P4 was loaded with Jungian Psychology, maybe this game will be more sociology based, or maybe delve into Maslowian Psychology about the personality -- it would be fitting considering the "Emancipation" theme and the concepts of reaching Self Actualization.

Some people also pointed out that the MC's blazer has chevrons/prison arrows, which also ties into the whole emancipation thing in some way.

    but yeah hypehypehypehype

If you download XKit, there's an add-on that allows you to see only the original posts people make on your Dashboard. Don't think it extends to their actual blog, though.

Are you living on campus? If so it could be best to go back to your room and hang around the floor a bit. If you don't you could probably go out to lunch, see if you spit a few familiar faces, go to some of your professor's office hours to get acquainted & such.

The first day being a residential student is pretty rough, ESPECIALLY with gap periods, but there is some stuff you can do to keep busy for a bit if you look really hard. Also naps. Naps are godly.

This feature is included natively within in Post Ratings, so it'd be a little redundant to add it on only to not need it once the PR system is all set and enabled. ;c I know it's been a while since I've made any significant announcements regarding Post Ratings, but atm we're working on developing the style framework Misty mentioned here:

and want to ensure that the look of Post Ratings will match up within that framework since it will be the basis for future styles.

scattered thoughts that have been growing in my draft for this thread

thinkin about my fav avatar seasons and think I got it down, 1 = personal best, 10 = nowhere near my fav at all

    1. ATLA Books 2/3
    2. Korra Book 3
    3. ATLA Book 1
    4. Korra Book 1
    10. Korra Book 2

certain episodes exist outside of these rankings though, "Beginnings" exceeded my expectations in all regards, "City of Walls & Secrets"/"The Stakeout" had such solid scripts, and "Ember Island Players" in indisputably the best episode ever

MOVED INTO MY APARTMENT TODAY, you can expect pics in PYP later but I am kinda relieved school is here? I feel like I was an absolute slug this summer and it's beginning to feel like I just can not stay at home for longer than a month or so at a time. By no means do I think I'm totally equipped for the real world of adult employment & responsibilities yet, but the days of being content idling away at home are over. Kinda sad, but was bound to happen eventually I guess.

Started writing this the other day, but since I never posted for 11, here is that. I'm still on that finale high, so I wanna wait a bit before I try to analyze that (it will probably be long), but I liked it a lot, definitely the best finale out of Korra by far.

Apparently there's a Tumblr blog out there called ZaheerForThePeople that has been posting some interesting stuff regarding Guru Laghima and Xia Bao. Would not recommend reading if you want to go into the finale blind or the posts are true, but for the curious cats it's out there.

edit: Those content of those posts didn't come up in the finale, though they seem so legit? Maybe it'll be grounds for something in Book 4? I dunno.

Also Episode 11 destroyed me at the end even though I think the first half of the episode was kinda boring (desert trip).

I feel like that part could've been taken out of the episode and given to something else? I dunno, the script felt weak in places ("I will do ________" x5), and I didn't really like how they used Iroh to tell Korra to go talk to Zuko when they could've just had her done that since everyone knows Zuko and Aang were buds. Also, "Zuko knew Aang best" except for, y'know, his wife and kids???

I am so torn about Tenzin's fate. Half of me wants him to live because that would be devastating if he died and Jinora/Ikki/Meelo/Rohan lost their dad, Pema lost her husband, and Korra lost her mentor. On the other hand, it would be so good for developing Korra and Jinora, that they both have to carry on Tenzin's legacy.

Speaking of his legacy, I never stopped to realize it but this episode showed just how much weight Tenzin holds in the world. He is the only Airbending Master, the only one who knows everything about the culture and practices, the only one who can teach people about it and Airbending. Even Zaheer recognizes this and seemed in awe of Tenzin when the Red Lotus approached them. Unfortunately that didn't stop him from ALMOST KILLING THE CLOUDBABIES.

    ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

Even if it should be expected that there would be more arrests solely based on numbers, there is no reason that the crime rate of black people within Ferguson should be close to 90% of all crimes. If it was 60%, that would be more understandable as it's more representative of the black to white population there; 90% of all crimes is incredibly disproportionate.

Unfortunately, this isn't a very sound example because in a 99:1 ratio like that, of course you would get the answer you are expecting/arguing for solely because it is heavily skewed into your favor (more blacks would be arrested because there are more of them).

This I could believe if it were about a TV show or something, but these are first person accounts -- primary sources, of Mike Brown's shooting. They are probably the most accurate sources of evidence we will ever get outside of a video recording or Mike Brown himself.[/quote]

It is proof because the numbers do not match up. There is no way that 60% of a population is committing 90% of the crimes, nor should they encompass 90% of the arrests. At the risk of presenting anecdotal evidence, my city school district is a majority black, about 60% or so. However, in the 2009-2010 school year, only 9% of black males graduated across the district. Is that number turn out not at the very least a cause of some suspicion about the system? Is that not a reason to ask "why are these black men not graduating?"

In the case of Ferguson, the question is "Why is the black population getting arrested so frequently?" The answer to that is that the system is inherently flawed and is one that is systematically racist, not because of any individual's decision, but because that is how it's been since racism was overtly prevalent and has since stayed even if our views as a culture have, for the most part, changed.

It's not about any individual police officer, though. It is about the societal & cultural structure of the police, and why it is bad. Of course there are good police officers, like there are good white people, or good men, or good heterosexual people. The meaning behind statements of "Police/White People/Men/Het People are bad" is that the societal/cultural elevation & priviledges that those people receive over those who are disenfranchised by our society that is the real issue. I know where you're cming from, for the longest time I was confused about it too (and those statements still make me kinda uncomfortable), but that is what people mean by it.

If someone is treating a police officer ****** despite them (officer) being a good person & proving that they are, then yeah, that is where that viewpoint is wrong because it is discriminatory. But the mass general statements like that are about the society, not any individual.
