More than likely, yes. We're working on integrating Post Ratings into the new framework (in regards to appearance and some minor functionality). While it could be enabled currently on 8.0, I think it's more productive to work on getting it steady with future releases now instead of having to catch up after the matter.

I don't think we really need anything more than the current gender neutral avatar. While it could be a nice little thing, I think having a singular neutral avatar is preferable since it does universally signify that the member is new/someone doesn't have an avatar, whereas with gendered avatars you can get into the "why do I have crusty old man Xehanort and why does SHE have the radiant goddess Aqua."

Of course this also gets into why have default avatars in general since everyone typically changes them the minute they register, but that's neither here nor there.

Wait, vanilla Coded or Re:Coded, lol? If it's the latter I'm a little more forgiving since Re:coded was pretty fun gameplay wise (and also let you change difficulty level whenever you felt like it~).

r/anime is having a Best Girl contest

Chie Satonaka lost in round 1 & I am denying this reality rn
(some of the matchups were brutal though, Satsuki vs CC in particular was cruel)

Also Asuna is going head to head with Homura & if that Sexy Lamp beats Homura then this subreddit is confirmed for **** taste

    So guys

If you're like me and 'fake it till ya make it' doesn't really work out for you, what I usually try to do is tell myself "I will do __________" or "Next time in class I will say something about _________ at least once." Coming into your own takes baby steps and isn't a process that starts and ends all at once; you have to keep putting effort into it, and doing small things like that, in my experience thus far, do add up to building more confidence over time.

    IMPORTANT UPDATE RE: WINNER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hey guys, I know it's been quite a while since the Awards ended, and the winner threads have yet to be made. I've had a pretty hectic month and a half as of late, and unfortunately didn't map out my time as well as I should have when it came to doing this. But, I do want to say I do remember and will try to have them up by the end of this weekend. Really sorry about this lengthy delay, but I do hope you guys are still ready to celebrate your CHAMPIONS OF THE KINGDOM HEARTS DOT NET USER AWARDS OF YEAR TWO THOUSAND FOURTEEN.

As always, if you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to leave me a message and I'll get back to it as soon as I can.

    get your bodies ready 8)

The Persona one is ****ing awesome. The PR contact for Atlus USA frequently posts on Reddit and said they contacted the Atlus HQ about the new 3DS models right after they were announced, so idk how that will go. The NES one does look pretty disappointing imo, but the Smash Brothers one looks great.

Agreed! I've only played FFXII so I don't know how a standard size party for an FF game usually goes, but I'd be surprised if there were less than 5-6 party members total. From the original trailers Stella definitely had/has some sort of ability on par with Noctis, and assuming that new 'Luna' girl is Stella remade, it does seem like she has some pretty crucial intel they need (and the way she clenched her fist definitely seems like she's resolved to do something important).

That said, I am kind of wary that all of the playable characters so far are all male. I like having mixed casts with equal boy/girl ratio (Persona, Tales of the Abyss) since it, imo, creates a more diverse group of people & experiences coming together into a tight knit group of what is essentially a functional family born from dysfunction. That said, my hopes for the "brotherhood" angle they're going to try to pull for here is that the party isn't all made up of the same brooding/silly funny guy/serious/macho buff stereotypes -- it's fine if that's the initial traits, but I do really hope that each of them grow and show that they subvert these traits. Make Noctis crack bad jokes and cry about his dad or s/t, make Prompto make mistakes & grow up and mature from them, make the smart glasses guy be into like...dancing at catchy pop music or something. Something.

I've said it before & I'll undoubtedly say it again, but in addition to the severe lack of well written female characters in meaningful main character/protagonist in gaming as a whole, I'm getting tired of seeing the same type of male character over and over again. Diversity in gaming includes being able to portray men in a variety of different lenses, and while on the whole taking gaming history into account, not as pressing as getting female characters into the mix of things, it's still something v. important to me and something I think needs to happen as part of the movement to diversify meaningfully & respectfully.

On the female characters, I do really hope there's more than Stella (and that she's not the only well written girl on the side of the protags! Independent women should not be only relegated to villainous spots because that's an absolutely ****** message to send out). Additionally, I hope that the women they do introduce, even if they do only show up in one town or one part of the game, show some semblance of a rounded personality! There should be female NPCs that have memorable enough traits or moments where you can point to the map and be like "yes this is where Sheila the inkeeper lives and she does xyz and is so cool." And it's so easy to do in a game, because you can give NPCs quests to hand out to the party and expose on their lives through that! It's so simple, and crucial in making the world feel alive, and I really hope to see them do that with XV.

I'm not hype for this game as I have no idea what to expect (nor care to form one since I think going in blind will be fun), but I do hope that it creates well rounded characters and fleshes out the world that it's taken so long to create.

tl;dr: i am willing to **** with the boy band aesthetic (because all the zoolander/backstreet boys jokes are hilarious)

talking mythology b/c i had that class today and this has been something my teacher made me aware of & i've been thinking about

in the book of genesis, specifically the first chapter and the second, there's two major inconsistencies that i can't believe i never noticed before. in the first part it is explicitly stated men and women were created at the same time from the same things -- has far less negative implications than eve being born from adam specifically, as stated by God, to be his helper and make him not be lonely.

the second thing is that it was stated in the first part also that god created man and woman in their (not the "26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness") image -- implying a gender/sex nebulous deity (even though God is still referred to as "he" in the passage, though it's also worth noting this is a lowercase "he" as opposed to the "He" we get in the rest of the bible, implying less of this "All Father" image, commonly depicted in myths of Europeans, as well). this is in opposition to the second chapter of the genesis, where we do have the capital "He," All Father image, and we also get that it's Adam specifically who's created in God's image, whereas Eve is just an afterthought of the process.

this is also interesting because Adam is made from the earth, the adamah, which has classically been associated with feminity, and it's Eve, a woman, who is born from a biological man rather than how biology actually goes. It denotes this patriarchal effort of western myth to override this idea and concepts of the feminine creation deity with ones who are strictly this decisively masculine figure -- this happened with Greco-Romano mythos too, where the Titans and Demeter, who was the deity because of her powers and connection to the earth and its agriculture and life essence, having her role lessened by the Herakleidan gods (Zeus/Hades/Posiedon ruling over the Heavens/Underworld/Seas respectively, dividing the cosmos amongst men and giving the power to male figures). my teacher said a quote highly pertinent and is one that I circled like four times but looking at all of this, it is true, that "myth serves as a justification for social structure"

(also on the adamah again really quick, but notice how Adam's curse from God following consuming the forbidden fruit was related to his creation, and how Cain inherited this duty of tilling the land, raising things up from the adamah in essence. that's it. that's literally the reason why god disliked cain's stuff instead of abel's -- abel was able to do something other than what his father did (raise livestock), and cain was left tilling the earth that was no longer spiritually rooted to humanity at that time. which, again, was literally reason 23/28734674 why the biblical depiction of god is such an *******.)

    DEAR GOD

the trailer for the dub was rough, but from what i've heard it isn't really as bad as some people make it out to be. ryuko's english VA is pretty unknown and satsuki's is Mokuba Kaiba, and the other characters barring Senketsu are pretty ok. it's not as bad as say, that one Pokemon special with mirages Pokemon (that was godawful), but it's tolerable.

i'd still recommend the subs over dub just because Satsuki and Ryuko's Japanese VAs blew it out of the park in terms of the emotional range, delivery, and the confidence behind the performance. (they also cosplayed as their characters and it was the cutest thing ever).

also the dub episodes still aren't all out atm (they're being released gradually via bluray), so if you wanna marathon KLK the best choice is the subs for now. would recommend Underwater's subs.

    ME TOO

i mean, i'm pretty sure everyone was expecting sasuke to pull some bullshit so we could get that final naruto and sasuke fight, but holy ****. I felt so bad for Kurama calling out to Naruto like that. :CCC swear to god, if he actually manages to kill the other kage, if he kills Tsunade, i don't even care about narrative/thematic continuity, Sasuke Uchiha Must Die.

On the narrative though, I do like that Sasuke's gonna be the final conflict. Madara was overhyped and got one-shot, and Kaguya felt so thrown in. I think she could've had a lot of potential since she's the source for why everything went bad, but everything she did felt so underwhleming for someone who's supposed to be this god figure. With Sasuke there's this sense of finality, that we're going to come full circle and this will be the definitive moment for the ninja system and the conflict it's been deeply attached to for generations

yeah korra book 2 was prob my least favorite avatar season (aside from the first avatar eps and "a new spiritual age"). also doesn't help that studio pierrot (as a reference point they animated the naruto vs pain fight) did the animation for half of the season and it was so off compared to what the usual studio (studio mir) does.
