tbh I was expecting KHX to be cutscene movie ala Days/Re:coded in a KH3D port, but a phone game is pretty exciting too. I'm hoping we can get a release date for the West soon, and that Square maintains support for it. I know they completely dropped TWEWY: Solo Remix a couple months back (WHICH I'M EXTREMELY BITTER ABOUT LMAO), but considering it's an entry for one of their flagship series and one that's very relevant to what will be one of their biggest game releases outside FFXV, that should hopefully not be a big problem.

oh **** I totally forgot about the new chapter today

i like it but am kind of eh at the same time. i like sarada, she's probably the strongest character of the new gen kids to me, and seeing hokage naruto is definitely pretty gratifying after everything, but the story feels like it's blowing through things -- not necesarily bad but with this it'd be nice to sit down and take a breather. what is that little tailed beast thing walking around? who was that guy off in the cave and what does he have to do with everything? i know we'll get answers, but at the pace everything is going at it feels like the answers are gonna be tied together sloppily -- the kaguya thing was bad enough being strung into everything else and that was like 30 (?) chapters of development. if this whole series really is gonna be a short thing, i'm worried kishi's not gonna stick the mark. again. plus, i'd like to see how they really solved that "ninja world is built on & thrives on suffering" plotline that just got ignored with kaguya and everything.

that said, i do think there are probably answers about that shin kid & the whole with karin and probably orichimaru. plus that whole sharingan room obito had back when sasuke got itachi's eyes transplanted.

    QUOTIN' SUPA OLD POSTS

I feel kind of the same way and I've gotten into the MCU pretty heavily as of late lmao. Overall, I like it. It was a movie. The action was great and there were some character moments I liked, but I also really...feel really negative on it? I think it's just because I don't like Whedon's style of writing, and I'm really put off by the Banner/Widow romance and how Nat's backstory was framed within that. There's also some implications about imperialism and, even more in your face, with heteronormativity that altogether thinking about just make me feel bitter about it, though this is just the angle of critique I'm approaching it from.

plus i'm also just tired of his tony stark boner :v

I think you'd probably like the more character driven movies -- Iron Man 3 did pretty well with Tony & PTSD, and Captain America the Winter Soldier is just, so good. SO GOOD. I love Cap 2.

no worries about the rant, i feel the same way lol.

Admittedly I liked 700 when it first came out because of, unabashedly, the Naruto/Hinata ending. I still like them together, even though I have and will say the process of getting them to that point was handled really poorly and basically required a movie to make it work within the written canon, which is ****.And yeah, I definitely second that it was glorified fanfic, and it threw aside the sheer mess and complications that were there after the war; where is Orochimaru? How will Sasuke and the village as a whole readjust? How are the five Kage going to maintain peace with themselves & the smaller villages and lands out there? How will the ninja system change? Will there be Jinchuriki again or won't there be? etc.

It's basically how I felt about the HP epilogue; book 7 explored this huge wizarding war with grassroots rebellious actions and efforts and so much death and all of that. Then the epilogue came, no one's scarred, everyone's breeding like rabbits and everything is fine, except it shouldn't be and there's no reason for that to be when they went through all of that death and fear and struggled as much as they did. Even though the NaruHina end is gratifying for me purely from liking them together, I do wish Kishi really ended it at the end of 699 and just let the fans fill in the gaps from there & come up with their own ideas of what happened; I think the characters earned a happy ending, but Kishi didn't put nearly enough work in to make it feel like the narrative as a whole should've ended the way it did without addressing...well, everything that still needed to be addressed. It was a copout.

I hope it ends up being good too, though guess only time will tell. just don't bring out kaguya **** and things can be fine kishi

read da naruto gaiden chapter and thooooooughts

I like Sarada (I ain't calling her fkin Salad) a lot more than I thought I would. She's actually really nice and endearing; considering that the first chapter is her name, like the first chapter of Naruto was his, I'm hoping she's the main character rather than Bolt (Boruto sounds silly). I like Bolt, but he's too close to younger Naruto in personality imo and it would feel like retreading the ground we walked on. Plus, the other kids all seem kinda selfish? Bolt has a kinda understandable reason, but like...his dad is Ninja Jesus and has a village to run lmao. And he's still got his mom and his sister (WHO NEEDS TO MAKE HER APPEARANCE SOON).

Onto plot. I hate, hate, hate what he's doing with Sakura so far. It's the logical conclusion to a relationship between her and Sasuke (Sasuke and anyone, tbh), but she's just being made out to be some kind of joke and it's ridiculous. The whole "IS KARIN MY REAL MOM????" reeks of a red herring that he's probably just doing because he didn't give her or the rest of Sasuke's team a closure in 700. v:

I'd say Kishi's handling of Sakura's been the worst handling of a female character in something I liked so far this year, but reading some of the AoU reviews has got me wanting to fight Joss Whedon, lmao.

This very much so! I've been very tempted as of late to do a Korra fanfic (BET Y'ALL CAN'T GUESS WHAT ABOUT), and I often find myself reading different fanfics to see how people portray the characters; what aspects do they focus on, what situations do they put them in, how do they use the established characterization in canon as a base and move on from it, etc.

I wouldn't say emulate the writing style necessarily, but definitely see what kinds of things you like that people do and try to integrate that into your approach and put twists on it. Similarly, ask yourself what makes a good story for you! I've probably talked about it before, but I definitely prefer character driven things over plot driven usually, and my writing very much reflects that interest. I know it's very tough approaching a fanfic and trying to remain faithful to characters & the canon (if applicable), and trying to also hold up your own voice for it. It's okay if your first few tries aren't as successful as you might want, what matters most is trying and trying over and over, putting it out there and you'll see improvements for sure!

Misty's suggestion of going to the Works & Rec section is great and you'll probably get some groovy help, especially from people who are pretty familiar with RWBY

Honestly I'm really hoping they (Whedon and his team) don't go for Hulk/Widow. Bias towards Clintasha aside (...as much as possible, at least :b), I don't see how a romantic relationship could really work between them. Widow's been shown to be terrified of the Hulk, with pretty good reason considering what happened in the first Avengers after Loki escaped the ship. Similarly on Bruce's end, in the Hulk he's been manipulated by a lot of people, and considering Widow's kind of a master assassin/manipulator...lol. Romance between the two of them at the current point just seems like it would be shoddy for both of their characters. I would be totally okay with them developing more of a platonic relationship like with Cap and Widow in Winter Soldier, but given the previews thus far it seems like romance could be inevitable. :s Of course, my opinion could change after I see the movie, but as of right now I'm not really into that potential plotline.

Overall I'm not really all that hype for Age of Ultron, but Civil War's got me like 8DDDDDDDDDDDDD. I'm also soooooooooooo happy the Russo Bros are confirmed for directing Infinity War. I loved Winter Soldier, and I'm faithful that they'll do a good job with Civil war & IW. Of course, that is the only movie I've seen directed by them and it could have just been a fluke & both (all three) of those movies could be bad, but STILL EXCITED.

REAL TALK, my friend and I have been talking about this and we thought another alternative could be having both Gwen Stacy and Miles co-starring and taking up the mantle after showing Peter dies. With Amazing Spiderman canon it doesn't really work considering...yeah, but the glorious thing about reboots is that old canon doesn't have to be abided by. B)

bonus points if they also cast a non-white actress for gwen if dual spiderheroes ever happens, since that'd also elminate another representation factor they've been stepping around, but considering marvel's mcu track record thus far i ain't holdin' my breath for that one v:

    New trailer got released today:

Looks like character art has been updated (thank god we're past the gradients from P4). Yu is the most noticeably different, and Naoto looks...strange? Idk, it looks like they copied her fact art from P4/A/U and just pasted it onto her new model, lol.

ALSO IT LOOKS LIKE YOU CAN CHANGE OUTFITS? GOTY 2015.

    HELLO EVERYONE
I haven't been around the last like two-ish weeks because my apartment's internet has been wonky, and mine eventually got cut out last week lmao. |: I was waiting on my refund from school so I could pay rent, but it didn't come until rent was due and the staff at the apartment blocked my internet usage. I've been mostly using my phone and had paid last Wednesday, but they only reenabled it this weekend so FUN TIMES.

In actual fun times though, school had its yearly Freezefest this weekend and I have a free sled, along with gloves, shirts, and like 3 pairs of pajama pants. AND BO BURNHAM CAME TO MY SCHOOL LAST NIGHT AND HE WAS GREAT. Can't wait for Springfest in a few months.

I haven't watched since ep. 5 because I've been busy, but it sounds like things happened and now I'm gonna blast through the latest episodes as soon as I get home. 8))))))

I'm in college for Psychology, with a minor in Digital Literature and Media, and a concentration/immersion in Women & Gender Studies. In all honesty, I know my heart is in psychology, but I'm still uncertain as to where I want to go in the field. In high school, I was always fascinated by it and was geared towards being a forensic psychologist -- inspired by watching seasons of NCIS with my mom. Eventually I gave up on that because of the improbability of me getting in due to how popular that field was amongst every student, and found myself heavily gravitating towards working with children/teens from doing brief volunteering at a children's center housed at our school.

As a result, I've been heavily torn between wanting to go into child psychiatry or school psychology, the latter of which is avaliable as a 3+2 program at my school. If I did it, I would be able to get my Master's degree within two more years of school. Child psychiatry would take a lot more schooling than I think I'm really able to commit to right now. The last year or two have been draining on me for a lot of reasons, so I've been considering taking a year off after graduating because I really doubt I could handle any more school right away after that -- in short, I'm close to burned out and need a break, lol.

All that said, I've found myself still having a really fond spot for English, and an ever growing one for Women & Gender Studies. I had signed up for my minor because the classes were fun and I was interested in them, but I think there is a part of me that would like to do something with it in some capacity; I've had a burgeoning interest in trying to do blog write-ups/critiques of ~things~, though with the burned out feelings from school I don't really have that much energy to put into it atm as I'd like to. Women & gender Studies I took up for multiple reasons, improving myself & my relatiosn to other people, help with psychology, etc.

Basically, I don't have an exact picture of what I want to do yet. I've been planning on talking to my department head and get into communication with the program coordinator of the School Psych program and seeing if I can sit in on one of the classes and get a feel of what the work is like. I still think it may be best to take a year off, but I really need to see how this semester goes before I can really commit to any decision on that. Right now, I'm just trying to focus on the present, with a mindful eye of what is gonna happen later.

oh my god that trailer was everything I was hoping for and more

I can't believe the MC is simultaneously more swag and nerdy than Narukami, but this team looks so rad (ESPECIALLY THE CAT). I'm hoping the cat isn't as beary annoying as a certain mascot, but it is so cute. ;~; IGOR MA DUDE and new twins. Is that the MC in a prison in the Velvet Room???

The gameplay looks like such a huge step up from P3/P4 in dungeon design and exploration, I'm so hype to go through those. Demons are back? Does this mean other P1/P2 things are (Philemon/Nyarlathotep)?

Music is great, visuals are great, the menu layout is stylish as ****. I am really looking forward to this and need to get a PS4 pronto, lol.

    Question Time with...

    Nights!

A couple of guidelines before you begin..

1 - Keep it within the rules of the forum, nothing over PG-13. This is still KHV, which means that you must not use this thread as an excuse to berate or harass the Question Time participant. That being said...

2 - ...The Question Time participant does not have to answer all of the questions.

3 - The Question Time participant must maintain some level of activity within this thread. Don't leave all of your questions unanswered. You're in the spotlight, baby, so shine!

4 - Give the Question Time participant some time to answer, and let others have a chance to ask. Remember that they are in the spotlight for at least one week, so do not feel the need to barrage him/her with a lengthy list of questions all at once.

And now that you have read the rules, you may ask away!~
