This will be rather interesting.
1. Did I say that wrong? Trust me, I've very **** how to properly refer to the Creature (Creature/Adam/etc.). BTW, I guess they're showing the first episode of Penny Dreadful early on demand or something. First episode is okay, although it's very dry. And wow, the make up for the monster is very underwhelming. *sigh* 2. But whose the one who made her answer it, huh?
Can I still make it? ;-;
Gotcha .
It took me a very long time to figure out why you would marathon the movies. At first, I just assumed "oh, he just wants to marathon a movie, like how i might marathon the Harry Potter movies during a weekend because I'm bored". Then facebook reminded me why someone would do such a thing today. How original
First and current impressions? Why the name "Square Enix-Chan"? Most and Least favorite story telling cliche? The last five movies you saw in theaters and what you thought of them? Have you ever failed a class?
He shot at me. He hates on me.
And I swear, in that moment, we were all the spam zone.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to just flat out fail Early European History. I'm tempted to just give up on studying for that and just focus more on Biology and Linguistics. Thankfully, this year, I didn't have to write any essays for my final.
I liked it a lot better than most of the critics I've heard from. My main problem is that the script is just a mess. It's mostly due to the fact that it seems rushed and have a web of plotlines that made it feel cluttered. Thankfully, the actors were able to really able to get into character and do something great. Spoiler One of the drawbacks of the movie is that the villains are not all that interesting. The Rhino is more of just a cameo so they can set up the next movie. Harry Osborne was just very bland, and I don't blame the actor at all. I know he's a terrific actor; it's just that the script gave him absolutely nothing to do until the very end. I can tell they wanted Electro to be sympathetic, but it just didn't work. When he first appeared on screen in the opening sequence, it worked really well. You could just see the gleam in his eyes of how starstruck he was. I easily saw myself in this situation. He just took it too far; when we saw him talking to himself in his apartment, they lost me. The first battle between Electro and Spider-Man I though was really good. With the character stuff they set up, it was a great build up. I heard a number of critics tear down the soundtrack, and while I agree with them on a lot of it, I have to say that My Enemy (Paranoia) is a great track and fit very well in the scene. I can't stop listening to it. The only other scene in the movie that can compare to it is Gwen Stacy's death. It's something many knew were going to happen; at Barnes and Noble, there was a stand of Spider-Man comics on display for the movie, one of them being "The Death of the Stacys". I love how they did it in the movie though. They gave you that bit of hope when she grabbed the web; you believe that she's going to be okay. Only a second later do you see her hit the floor. Hard. That hope is just taken away. That's how you play with your audiences god dammit!
Awesome! My choice is Being Alive from Company Spoiler [/spoiler{
One thing I kind of disliked about flip phones was some of the people who used them. Oh, haha, you're "cutting" yourself with your Razor. Guh! Anyway, I much prefer my android phone to a lot of the apple stuff (ipad, ipod touch, etc), but that's just me. It handles all the apps well, has a pretty good connection, and takes great pictures. My only real problem with is that I"m listening to music and there is a clear one second gap between songs. It's not a bother until you're listening to an album straight through and there are gaps between two songs where it would sound awesome if there was no gap.
FINALLY! Someone else who describes someone whose a Bag of Dicks as a Bag of Dicks.
Thanks, Ryuk.
Just to be clear, when I say these are my top five, these are movies that I can watch over and over again and always get something out of them. 1. The Dark Knight (2008) - Probably the best technically made film on the list. I've always loved the story of the hero slowly becoming a villian, and this does this it the best. The Joker is a menacing villian and is just the imbodement of chaos. However, I don't watch the movie for The Joker's story; I watch it for Harvey Dent's. To me, that's the best thing of the movie: this fall from grace by his own hand, but still believing he's doing the right thing. 2. 50/50 (2011) - It's a movie about cancer, so I was able to relate to it a lot growing up with terminal illness. Part of the reason I love it is because of how well it portrays living and overcoming terminal illness (unlike some other story out there that simply romanticizes it). Also, I saw this at a very critical time in my life; I had just been released from the hospital after a very extended stay (and a month before my transplant), and I had just been dumped by my long time girlfriend. I connected with a lot of it at that time, especially Adam's meltdown towards the very end. 3. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (2010) - I love the original series, and can enjoy season two. While this is a nice conclusion to the series, it also is a great stand alone story. It teaches you to appreciate the life you have, even if it's a little whacked out at times. 4. Saw (2004) - I love horror. I don't watch Saw for the gore, I watch it for that psychological undertone of appreciating your own life. It goes into morality, personal ethics, and asks questions that a lot of people didn't want asked at the time it came out. It also was a very small project in the beginning, but it spawned into something much greater. As well, it was the relationship with the two leads that kept the movie going and never losing momentum. 5. The Silence of the Lambs (1991) - Hannibal is brilliant, and he doesn't need to be a teen idol/heart-throb for a new generation to do so. While his appearance is considered supporting, Hopkins's performance is what everyone remembers about the film. Having also done a paper on the movie, I looked deep into the themes and liked how the story was told. Recently, my cousin asked me why the movie is told from Starling's and Bill's points of view. One could simply say that's how the story was just told, but if you look deep enough, you'll see that they both share the same inner problem, but they are handling it in different ways. It's little things like that that make me love this movie more and more.
Until you're forgotten...
No real order 1. Puella Magi Madoka Magica - This is probably the most emotional I've gotten over an anime series, and for good reason. The plotting was really well done, the idea and themes were well explored, but what keeps me loving this show is the characters. 2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - To me, this is KyotoAni at its finest. The show (as well as the film) embraces the craziness, but also the heart of what it is. It feels very genuine in what it's trying to say. This was also one of the first few shows that I watched when I first got into anime, but I will always call this one my favorite of the early years because something about it made sure I would stay a fan. 3. Log Horizon - I won't lie when I say that part of the reason I love this show so much is because it is Anti-Sword Art Online in characters, plotting, story, and just about everything else(and I do like SAO, although it may not seem like it at times). Unfortunately, it didn't have the same kind of budget or popularity as SAO did either. Still, even if it wasn't a factor, it won me over with a well thought out story, amazing characters and just how fun it felt. 4. Romeo x Juliet - I like how this takes a lot of creative liberties from the source material while also paying respect to it. It makes the family politics a whole lot bigger, and takes place in a very amazing world. 5. Usagi Drop - A very simple anime, and different from everything else on this list. However, it's the simplicity that I love. It's a calming show that is drastically different from everything that's out there.
