Ohhh I got another idea! Maybe the actual final boss isn't really Xehanort, maybe the final boss instead is Kingdom Hearts! Depending in what Xehanort tells him, Sora decides that in order to end things once and for all, he had to destroy Kingdom Hearts.
I was actually thinking about this the other day. During Sora's travels in a certain world, he gets randomly confronted by Tidus. Being upset that he hasn't seen his friends for a set of years, Tidus explains how he went through his own journey gaining a vast amount of power. Because of this, he wanted to settle a rematch with Sora to observe who is truly stronger. Thus Tidus is a boss. After the fight, Tidus tells Sora that he wants to fight by his side not wanting to loose him again. Sora declined Tidus's offer informing him the journey will be too dangerous to handle. Tidus still insisted, making an argument how Sora, Riku and Kairi randomly disappeared on them and he refuses to see them leave without him again. So Tidus forces himself to be in the main party. As they travel, Tidus would interact with Sora and his affairs. Waka would be recruited in Riku's Scenario, Selphie can be recruited in Kairi's. Like the idea?
