All I did was give one of my several Eevees an EXP share and fought through the E4. They'll get happy enough to evolve into Umbreon or Espeon in Ruby/Sapphire, depending if the game clock is on day or night. Also yes, I have a lot of Eevees. My Jolteon I evolved from my Eevee I got in Fire Red got busy with my Ditto. A lot. A lot~.
That's what I'd suggest too. I'd give it a 8-9/10, that's really good for a first.
