Alcohol yes, but I don't think it's because of the guns. After all, Clayton in KH1 had a rifle. But going back to Port Royal, another reason could have been the blood on the medallions. Those are two of the reasons I can think of for the change.
In the heat of the moment, as Sora and Kairi drifted apart, they probably didn't have time to think of any other options. It would have been very dangerous for Kairi to stay with him, so staying back was a smart idea. But I think another reason she went back to the islands was because of Sora's promise to her at the end of the game. That probably motivated her to go back.
I like a few songs from Demon Hunter, my favorite being "Fading Away" or "Carry Me Down." I don't like too much of their music, since it's too much screaming for my taste. Still, I must admit, they are quite talented. And Pillar...wow, Pillar. They're one of my favorite groups. I enjoy all of their newest cd "For the Love of the Game." I also have "Fireproof", "The Reckoning", and another great cd by them "Where Do We Go From Here". Their styles have really changed over the years, but I think "For the Love of the Game" is their best release.
Good chapter; your writing is improving with each update. I noticed one spelling error in the first section (I think), but I didn't notice many (if any) gramatical or tense errors. Great job!

"Come on," Sora said quietly to his friend, giving Roxas a quick look before turning his head forward and turning, heading up the walkway to the front door of Kairi's house. Whatever was going on, he really wanted to find out...just to make sure that everything was alright.

Sora shook his head, keeping his eyes forward. "No, Kairi's been acting the same way." Ever since that ball a week ago, Sora and Kairi hadn't been spending as much time together. That would have worried him slightly if it was just him, but if Namine wasn't spending a lot of time with Roxas either...well, things still didn't add up. And that was why they were heading over to Kairi's to see what was up.
