Sora silently exhaled, letting his tense muscles relax slightly. He didn't want to think deeply anymore; he just wanted a little bit of peace. Really, was that too much to ask for? The brunette didn't think it was an unreasonable request, considering everything they had gone through.

No matter what happened, Sora would always love Kairi. Even if she turned on him...treated him like dirt, decieved him again and broke his heart, he would still love her. He was under her spell, really. Sora let himself be close to her, because he knew that he would never actually have to go through that or retract his love for her. That was something that would last forever.

No. Sora wasn't willing to accept that. Failing wasn't an option as long as he had to take care of Kairi. He would be strong and see this through, making sure they both could get back on their feet. It was his responsibility to be her guardian, her protector. But his most important job was to be her lover. And that was a job he wasn't going to let go of. Not now, or ever.

Sora didn't want to think about his complicated relationships right now; he just wanted to forget it all for a little while. Things were too stressful, and he thought a small break wasn't too much to ask. Why did fate keep testing them like this? Was this one test they were going to fail...?

Sora didn't want to involve his other two friends, though. Namine had enough troubles, he was sure. And Roxas...well, Roxas was involved with what happened between him and Kairi. That thought made Sora tense up, and he knew he didn't want to talk to Roxas yet either. He sighed faintly. He'd just have to support himself through this whole thing and get over it by himself.

Leaving the past behind is easier said than done, Sora mused, a bit of frustration behind the thought. He silently wondered: did time heal wounds? It had helped the last time he had been in trouble. Things did settle down after a while, and Sora knew that time wasn't the only thing that healed his wounds. Roxas, Namine, and Kairi had all been there for him, and without them, he wouldn't have gotten past everything. He would have to depend on their support again if he was going to get past this road-block.

Sora realized he didn't have any other choice. He needed to move on, for both their sakes. He couldn't let Kairi feel guilty, even if it was a big mistake that had really hurt his feelings. Ugh, why did he keep thinking about that?! He just wanted to let it go, and he was upset with himself that he couldn't. This was going to be harder than he thought, and that realization made him feel sick to his stomach.

The last time Sora and Kairi had been in serious trouble, it was with Smith and Carter. They hadn't had any walls between them, because neither of them had done anything wrong. But this time, things were different. Kairi had made a mistake...a big mistake. Could they get past it? Could he get past it?
