Well, there might also be the possiblity that the bible is corrupted. And who knows? Maybe God let these things happen as a test to see how long it would take for us to make such a discovery and realize the truth. lol Or maybe I'm just being a bit too optimistic?

I made a good arguement in there, if I do say so myself.
Many of the things in the Bible are pretty outdated. That's why most Christians over-look things like these in the Bible, since our morals (and society) have changed since then. I mean, when was the last time you've seen a senior citizen throwing rocks at a 14-year-old for getting tatoos? (Reffering to the part about having a reblious son and showing him to the elders and stoning him to death). Not only that, but not all of the things in the Bible are supposed to be taken so literally. More metaphorical, really. I mean, that whole 'cut off your arm if it sinned against you' thing isn't so literal. It would rather mean that if you wouldn't cut off your arm for it sinning(sp?) against you, then you shouldn't sin at all. I agree with this too.
