I do understand your thoughts, however; these two look slightly too similar the Generation V starters. I can clearly think of the Grass starter as some sort of swine-based Pokemon unless it was decided that quadrupeds with that structure have such intentionally curly tails. The Water starter may be a large amount of aquatic animals or possible derivatives. That tail may be a beaver or platypus tail while it also appears to have an excellent chance of being a simple fin. However - and it may simply be my screen - I can swear to see a sort of cross-hatching on the tail despite it being a complete silhouette, denoting a beaver-derived pokemon. This may most likely be distortion due to low quality, however.
