That's what I said already. Therefore, that was implied, and that was not. Nice try.
That's racist.
I hate to break it to you, but you're actually pretty good. I've seen you and Ed and Maki-rin discuss various things in the Skype and I've read a couple of your posts on site. I know that you're more than capable of making a clear and cogent argument and defending it without cracking and contradicting yourself, something that I know that I do sometimes. You don't argue on as many topics as some other people, but possibly as a result you know the ones you do argue pretty well. So yeah, don't be surprised. I think you're more than capable of beating most of the people on this poll if the topic is right.
The part that makes you sick is that you're cold, more extreme temperatures tax the immune system. And guess what? Water is better at transferring heat than air is so in inclement weather getting wet makes you colder and thus does actually make you sick.
And Lenny Bruce ain't even scared.
You're being incorrigible.
I don't think that something like that really qualifies as a part of debate skills. It was really just positing my own opinion and then explaining it. I feel like debate focuses more on justifying something. The difference being, in this case, an explanation is a reason why I feel a certain way and a justification is a reason why feeling a certain way is correct.
That's great, tomorrow there's gonna be an earthquake.
What do you mean by you people?
I've never seen Peace and War make a good argument. Admittedly, these are all posts outside of the debate section, but I cannot actually believe that he suddenly becomes able to write more coherently and gains untold amounts of knowledge upon entering the section. So here's what it comes down to: 1) He's pretty disrespectful towards who he's arguing with and uses sarcasm in a derisive and ill mannered way. 2) He doesn't know what he's talking about a good portion of the time and simply appeals to the same kind of authority figures and pseudo-intellectual nonsense, even if it's been debunked or holds no meaning in the context of the debate. 3) He misses the point of the opposing argument with startling regularity. 4) He cannot consistently paint a coherent picture of his position and seems to even change it as the argument progresses. Yeah, maybe I'm wrong and all of the flaws I saw were just in the arguments that I was present for. Maybe he actually takes the time to sit down and think out his argument for other threads. I'm going to base it on what I know, though, and I think he shouldn't even be in the running for first.
Yeah, them getting moved to a new section years after they had been posted in makes a real big difference. Secondary note: If by half, you mean 2. Sure.
I'm... Okay, this is something I was never expecting. Even so. Yes, even so, I think I can see why this has come to pass. I think I can see why there is an end in sight now. The spamzone is Kingdom Hearts Videos dot net. The spamzone is the hear and soul of the place. It's where we got the KHV Songs. It's where we got Young Joey. It's where we got Sforzato Quest. It's where we got Voxli and the Death Note Game. It's where we got Count to 1,000,000 and Question Time. It's where we got Nate's Steam Giveaways. It's where we got everything that makes our site special and fun. It's where we made ourselves and defined our time here. All of the drama happened there, all of the laughter happened there. But that's, decidedly, over. What do we get out of the spamzone now, though? Can you guys think of set of threads that you're going to remember next year? Can you guys think of something that really got a laugh outta you, like woke up the neighbors even? Can you guys think of something that makes you glad you joined whenever you go there? I have to say, "No." to all of the above. There's no good threads anymore. There's no interesting discussions. There's no shenanigans or chucklefuckery. The place is dead. The place is terrible. But it's still my home.
I've seen Maki-rin argue pretty recently. I disagree with the assertion that he depends on them. Yes, he does only debate to win. Yes, he favors breaking down the opposing argument over supporting his own. Yes, he treats his own definitions as universal and doesn't explain them until prompted. Yes, he acts like saying the word, "aesthetics", is enough to justify anything related to art. Yes, he turns many a losing argument into a semantics argument. But in the end, for all of the annoying and stubborn things he ends up doing while he's trying to break down the opponent, he does usually follow a consistent and clear thread of logic with minimal fallacy. He doesn't usually fight from a point of irrationality. That's just from the last few I've seen, but in the end, I think he's been this way for a while. He values logic and he's not half bad at it. Still wouldn't say he's the best, though.
Wouldn't that show in people getting the message? When the others here said that it seemed serious, they meant that you seem to seriously want the user to become a Premium. It is that peer pressuring, and not the call out, that they think you should say is a joke. They would like for you replace the disclaimer about it being a call out with one of the suggestions. The content is the problem, not the title. KS's advice was sound. Please do not ask for it and then dismiss it.
I don't even argue.
I have a dream. I have a dream that one day, 2Ds such as myself will be acknowledged, understood, and respected just as much as any 3D. I have a dream that even though we cannot ever meet each other, we'll be able to spend time with each other every day. I have a dream that despite the fact that we cannot touch hands, we will be able to touch hearts. This is my dream. This is my hope. A 2D cannot do all that a 3D can, but 2D will never betray you. 2D can always be there, even when there is no room for another. 2D will wait for you. 2D will never change on you. I am 2D and I still have a dream, because you believe in me.
Ghetman is the friendly neighborhood superhero you know that you can trust. He may not be here with us in the safety of our homes, but he brings us a greater gift. Nay. He brings us the greatest gift of all. He brings up that safety that we share here with each other. Without Ghetman, there is no /khv/. Without Ghetman, there is no sunshine. So I salute our hero. I salute him and say, "RIDE ON! LUMBERBLACK! RIDE ON!"
Wahahahahaha. Ah, mah drills.
You deserve it.
