    I feel

like I'm dying. No, not like I'm having an allergic reaction or acute lead poisoning. Not like I've been hit by a car or been diagnosed with cancer. It's the feeling that my individuals cells are replicating and dying and replicating and dying and becoming less and less correct with every iteration. It's the feeling where I'm getting older and more decrepit every second. It's the feeling that I used to be cleverer and stronger and better. I'm dying. My brain is shutting down. My nervous control is weakening. My senses fading to black. I'm not going to be here forever. I never was. Human is temporary. Machine is temporary. No part of me will remain. I'm dying. The end isn't in sight either. It may not be a hunter unbeknownst to its prey but death has a habit of sidling up real close and whispering, "Boo." But I can still feel it. Dying. I can still feel the slow and unstoppable destruction of the self. I can still feel weakness taking me, millionths of microns at a time. It happens to everyone. Everyone else can laugh and cry and scream. Everyone else seems to ignore it. It's maddening. I don't know what to do. I can't stop it. I can't cope with it. There is no out. There never was. There can't be. Inevitability is the charm.

    I'm scared.

No, you're not supposed to want to be inside. You are the outsider. The devil's advocate. The other.

I always knew that one day I'd grow up to be the Grinch, 'cause right now all I want is for the Whos in Whoville to stop fucking singing about their Who this and Who that, because I don't care what they have to Who about and don't want the Whoing to continue, regardless of the hollow and inane joy it may bring the Whos.

    Hmm.

Lower body needs a little more depth to improve perspective. The linework could be a little cleaner and smoother on the fingers and the front of her hair. Recheck the anatomy on the right arm.

That's all I'm seeing on a normal technical level. But as far as emulating Dangan Ronpa, a lot of it is actually color choice which you haven't got at all. The series tends towards stark contrast and really strong colors with kinda hand drawn looking gradients. What you have right now is super digital looking and the coloration is too weak and smooth. The eyes also look more persona inspired. Comments all based on the VN and novel art as I've never seen anything from the animation.

Overall, it's okay, nothing wrong with it intrinsically, but since you're trying to go for DR style you've got a bit longer to go.

You have made progress though, and I didn't realize you were working on something as limiting as an iPad so I'm impressed.

I don't dislike it anymore than any other kind of playthrough. I do, however, think the whole change of word and subsequent rise in popularity is pretty strange, but not in the unexpected way because repackaging has been a thing forever, but with something like this it happened quickly and happened not due to some company trying to cash in necessarily so much as "the people" made the decision. If you enjoy watching people at all, it's interesting. Also, you'd have known that if you had read the slightest bit into my last post.

I can't believe people actually call filmed playthroughs Let's Plays now. People used to just title them walkthrough, run or playthrough and we all understood what that meant because it made sense. Like seriously. I remember when Let's Play became the buzzword for amateur I should not care about playing a game I do not care about, but here it is now, being all up in the normal nomenclature over far more reasonable sounding alternative just because some no talent, worthless hacks wanted to bite on some other kid's style. Holy shit. Am I the only one who thinks this is strange or at least amusing?

How's your day been so far?

    Have you been eating alright?

Do you have a girlfriend yet?

    Where are my grandkids?

You're not getting any younger, you know.

I'm just stating facts here. People who don't have a degree in Fine Arts don't actually write essays on why art is important to the world. People like you and I who didn't major in art and whatever, don't actually discuss art in the same way. We don't say that art is the key to understanding humanity and we don't say that art is as important as breathing. Now seriously, just finish it.

That's not legitimizing art, that's saying vidyas are art. Different things, you ass.

Yeah... you're wrong. Firstly, people who try to justify and legitimize art aren't hobbyists by any contortion of reality or stretch of the imagination. They're people with degrees who dedicate their lives to studying, bullshitting about, or making art. Hobbyists and commercial artists usually just say something ranging from, "It's fun", to "It's money and I like it." So you've got your community upside down and backwards for one thing. Also, did you know that no one in history has been able to agree on a definition for art, least of all artists and art theorists? Yeah, a lot of art thinkers spend most of their time historically telling people what is and isn't art and defending it. That's why we even have shit like futurism, modernism, post-modernism, impressionism, etc. They're different interpretations of what Art with the capital A is. Secondly, Movie buffs and enthusiasts are some of the most pretentious and scornfully elitist folk on the planet. They subscribe to the New Yorker and talk about foreign films and do not fucking well watch Gremlins unless they're trying to make the case that it's great. They don't enjoy watching dumb shit because it's fun, they enjoy feeling like they are elevating something to an art form and feeling like they're better than other people. The movies as art debate is as much a thing as the video games as art debate just transpose it by year of inception and think about it. Anyhow, point is movie folk are the same if not worse than the vidya community on this issue. Books? Same fucking thing. Charles Dickens was considered low brow garbage (partly because he hated on the overclass so much) and the furthest thing from art during his time. Look at the fucker now, classic fucking literature. So yeah, you made a really ignorant argument there and I'm borderline offended by the fact that you seem like you think art can only ever be a hobby and is nearly valueless to the world.

Long story short, even Plato and Aristotle were arguing about what art was and everyone is constantly trying to justify themselves, you're only seeing this shit about vidyas because they're newer and opinions are so much more public nowadays than they ever before could be. Jeez.

Okay, I'm actually not gonna give a full critique of your work, because that's not the problem you have. You're not technically perfect and you could stand to get better, but trying to improve and refine what you've got here isn't what you need to do to grow as an artist. To be honest, that's what it sounds like you're actually asking for someone to help you improve as an artist.

Your designs are pretty much the same as every other kid on the internet who thinks he has good ideas and your art looks like a well practiced novice. What you need to do is get out of this fluffy comfort zone you've built for yourself and experiment. You need to draw something different from what you are used to. Probably different from what you want to. Because working outside your comfort zone is how you change yourself in the end. I see that you don't draw backgrounds. Go draw cars and streets and trees and houses. You don't have to use reference, in fact, it's probably better that you try your hand at designing these things too. It should affect your understanding of your other art and improve your ability to create. Don't want to draw inanimate objects? Ever tried drawing in a different style? That's another thing you could try. You could imitate or emulate a style you think is different from yours or you could try to come up with a new style entirely. The main point remains, you've got to try new things and don't be afraid to get a little messy. Your art should look awful to you sometimes.

Anyhow, if you don't like the advice and still want a piece by piece critique, something I think you'd benefit little from, I'm still willing to oblige.
