Maybe it's just me, but I honestly don't believe that the media is controlled. The media is only supposed to deliver news, sometimes its true, sometimes its not. The media also basically publishes their opinion. And you probably don't hear about South America because it's usually North American based if you live in North America. Also, what are you not hearing about? It's already been said but, media influences your decision.
