It was summer and I don't like people. While we're on Gundam. I fucpking love Gundam. Gundam is one of the reasons I'm in engineering. Gundam is one of the few series that I just get hyped over no matter what. When it's good, I get hype over how much I love it. When it's bad, I hype laugh over how bad it is and talk all kinds of ****. It's just one of those things that I enjoy when it's good and when it's bad. But your comment from a while back about protagonists made me feel like it was one of the things you were ungood with. Fun fact though, Gundam originally aired in the middle of the day so small children and housewives would be the target demographic. Which says a lot about the series if you think about it.

    Figures it'd be fucking Nyanners.

The concept for C was actually pretty good, it was just the characters, plot, pacing, animation and general mediocrity that held it back from being one of those shows everyone loves.

I have not. Truth be told, my animu knowledge is pretty low tier, even on a spectrum for a site as casual as this one. Safe to say I'll be looking into it, I'll get back to you when I have seen it. Seitokai no Ichizon is another one I never watched. I can't say there's a specific type of show premise I usually dismiss because basically anything can be good or bad based on execution. Though, one time I got it into my head that I'd just watch everything with a title that I had seen or heard before. It went horribly.

It failed because it didn't sexualize the characters enough to sell body pillows, it didn't have a plot for a video game, and so on. For a commercial success in the Japanese industry a show needs to sell all the secondary goods as well. Add that KyoAni, the studio basically responsible for the moe movement was making it they had expectations to fulfill and they didn't deliver. So yeah, I think someone from the studio even publicly apologized for making it at one point. Also, Japan has shit taste.

C as in the money and possibility control? I thought that was pretty bad. Redline was everything I wanted and more.

I mean, I sorta figured as much as you just said based on our past discussions and stuff but I still do view you as primarily someone who would only really follow old or high profile anime due to exposure because you naturally would not actively seek out a lot of this stuff. So a series like Nichijou which was unpopular and a complete commercial failure in Japan to the extent that people thought might be the end of KyoAni just didn't seem like it'd show up on your radar or attract your attention.

This particular thing was just because the humor is decidedly very Japanese and you seem none too wild about Glorious Nippon.

We're all trying to control people in our own way. Everything feeds back into how people act, that's why we all change because people changed us in some capacity. Whether you want to or not you're controlling someone to a certain extent. But that's not actually the point of what you're saying and I get that. But it still wasn't in anyone's best interest to take sides on that now that shots were fired and returned.

Mighty kind of you. Probably the best way to deal with people if you want them to like you.

I agree that it's rude and subjective. I don't think anyone was demanding the forum to entertain them. Now, I do agree that constructive criticism is often better than simple derision but when the point is just to tell someone they've done wrong and to stop, I don't think giving them an alternative is necessary. So I'll say there's your point you just made, but you didn't make it before so I'll say you improved your position there.
I don't think that's using my logic at all. In my experience dogs and people are the same in that respect. You can control people with fairly primitive means and it's just as effective if not moreso in tailoring their manners than trying to suss it out with them. Maybe you disagree there but I have no reason to concede that.
I don't know if there was a point. I don't think too hard on my posts sometimes. Maybe I'm a little upset about how my day went. Maybe it's just what I said, I feel like no one cares about what I say. Maybe I'm looking for a fight. Could be any of those things. Either way, I'm being a bit disrespectful yes. I mean to be. I think it helps make my point, misplaced as it was now that you've cleared up some of your points for me.

What you're saying is that you should accept it rather that address it and make an attempt to fix it or ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist regardless of the consequences it will have when allowed to continue. I don't like that attitude. Actively trying not to fix problems is how you make them worse, not how you fix them. I feel like you care a little bit more about this site than some people, so you should act like it.

I know the most obvious counterargument is that you need good content to be made for something to be good and that's why you support contribution over all else. Lead by example, in a sense. It's narrow minded, impractical and complacent. It is both the presence of good and the absence of bad that creates a good environment. If you need to dig through mountains of garbage to find gems no one is going to bother and nothing is ever going to come from it. Any training involves both reinforcement and punishment. The presence of good content doesn't eliminate or mitigate bad content, they both simple sit there side by side. A community is like a garden, it needs both nurture and pruning to reach its potential.

I also know that you're not going to agree with or possibly even respect my opinion because my words never have carried any weight around here. I'm perfectly fine with that.
