Update: The numbers aren't turning out as easily as I'd thought they would so I'm going to be temporarily suspending the mafia points system, but I did come up with a few things to think about. There are 5 mafia and 9 townsfolk left. Barring the doctor's role actually mattering or the mafia failing to select a target, which are both still pretty unlikely, the town can only afford to lynch one more town member or have two no lynch results before the mafia has almost won message shows up. This means two missed lynches means the game and 4 missed days means the same. This will hold true for the rest of the game. Even if one mafia is lynched they will simply take it back during the night so the positions will remain unchanged.

For anyone who doesn't agree with my methods, I don't care. Think what you want, I'm sticking to my way.

I missed a voting day for personal reasons, not that it mattered, so today I'll make my decision for today now before something like that happens.

    Vote: skull joke

The only thing positively and publicly correlated with town membership is having a low post count, that is fact. You can say it's a mistake to assume the opposite, but we've never once seen a death among those with higher posts and without data points there we cannot say that there isn't a correlation between post count and mafia membership. If I'm wrong, the numbers have improved for it and we'll be able to seek out a stronger pattern. If I'm right, we have another free day to improve the numbers again.

However, since not having a lynch doesn't help the town either, I'm somewhat open to changing my vote to whoever looks the most like they're going to get it. Bandwagoning as you have been calling it. I would prefer it if people just followed me instead.

Notes: As for the mafia point system, I'm considered doing round by round weights based on the chance of hitting mafia versus townsfolk because before the system treated malice and mistakes with equal severity, however with a weighted system mistakes early on will be counted for less whereas later on killing townsfolk will increase the score more. Secondarily, I'll be working on the value of No Lynch and not voting because those actually do hurt the town in the end. If we look at it as risk and reward .25 of a mafia member and ~1.75 townsperson die on the first day/night cycle if you vote. However, if you don't vote or vote no lynch 0 mafia members die an 1 townsperson dies. It's somewhat abstract seeming but the meaning of that is you have to vote and thus risk hitting a townsperson to get a mafia member but the mafia get almost free kills. This should be reflected in the mafia point system, because the points exist to measure who is helping the town most and who is helping least.

You don't understand the references to Japanese culture in the more literal translation. If you'd bothered to read the full description on their IRC it includes liner notes to help you fully appreciate the humor.

I'm not a nice person. You know that, that's probably why you dislike me, yeah I don't particularly like you either, but that's not related. But this particular thing isn't personal for me. I don't like the site as it is now. I have my grievances and issues and I will from time to time voice them because I do really feel quite fed up with it at times and it'll be like that forever. But like I said, it's not personal problems I have with anyone related and I don't hold that against you or any of the staff as staff or as people. I think you've done about as well as can be expected of anyone in your position and credit where credit is due, even though you probably can't ever make me happy because I have impossibly strange standards you're making other people, the majority of other people, happy. A lot of people that stood by me at the beginning holding the line actually don't mind or even like xenforo now. That was you and the rest of the staff, you succeeded. From any perspective that's a win, you did well. I'm sure you get that and so on, but I feel like it bears saying. So my point is, I'm going to complain about things I hate and maybe you feel like it's an attack or an aggressive stance, but it's not. It's my personal problem and I'll deal with it my personal way so don't let it bother you. Just keep doing what you're doing.

You're being so embarrassing right now.

I do enter the code myself. I changed the alerts settings. I passionately hate likes and I appreciate that they're working on it. Good on them. I care because I fucking well do, it was at one point an option I had and I liked that option. It, surprisingly enough, made it more convenient for me in some way. God fucking forbid I like something and want it back. Are you actually kidding me? You mean you don't want to see who's online in a given section without systematically going through every thread only to have your results out of date by the time you finished? You're being willfully contrary, there's no advantage to this system over the other, the other was objectively more information, more visible, more quickly and was thereby more convenient and better. So suck a dick. The birthday thing is part of an old running joke that people could see evidence of if user notes still existed. Ha, guess you'll never get it. Yes, I actually would, but I'd take any actual alternative as a start.

No, all my fucking complaints are legit. Everything I mentioned has caused me annoyance and a worse browsing experience in some way. That's what happened and that's where I'm coming from, so don't be a prick about it. I don't care if I offend people. You say as you deny my personal preference's legitimacy.

Because you see something doesn't mean someone else does. I'm not going to go searching for success and failure on the site, I'm going to look at what's in front of me and judge my experience based on what I actually do. I'm not going to go to the suggestions board where the things I cared about are all called impossible simple as that. I don't notice a difference in load times, honestly, it never bothered me before and it doesn't bother me now. Random crashes? Never as constant an inconvenience as anything I currently see but hey that's just me. But in the end I don't see any positives from anything you've mentioned and I don't see a reason to go looking for them.

    So, yeah.

I'm sure your job under the hood is easier. I don't doubt that you like it for that reason and good for you, but as an end user, I've seen no tangible benefits from this at all. The site still looks bad. I still had to give up a large amount of site history without being warned or given any options regarding that and was brushed off like a hanging burr when I asked about it. I still can't customize my posts per page. I still can't see members in a given section. I can't change my birthday. I still have to deal with a bad text editor and the ****ing likes system. So yeah, I don't have a reason to change my opinion of xenforo from the perspective of an end user. Like that list you toted out like it mattered, it doesn't apply to my experience for the most part and when it does it usually just annoys me like seriously who actually wants alerts? So don't act like people who don't like it are just being ignorant or stubborn about it. I don't like what's been done with the site and regardless of whether it's on xenforo or vB or whatever, it's the specific changes that ruin it for me and the fact that my concerns are treated like they don't matter.

    Today's lucky numbers are:

    Posts
    0 – House
    2 – Basilisa
    3 – Judge Sunrose
    3 – Lana del Jayn
    4 – TwilightBlader
    5 – Krowley

    34 – Cat~
    45 – Digital Atlas
    51 – h y u g e
    58 – Cstar
    67 – skull joke

Last round saw a 9 page increase in the thread length, the most in any round so far. As such, you'll see some bigger discrepancies in the post numbers than ever. The trend remains that mafia only have killed low posting members but the town has killed its first member with over 20 posts. We now have six members with more than 30 posts, eight with under 10 posts, six between 10 and 20 posts, and one between 20 and 30 posts. The most dangerous place to be is between 20 and 30 votes with a 100% mortality rate followed by the sub 10 post range with a 75% mortality rate.

    Lynch Votes
    Basilisa: No Lynch
    Beau: None

    TwilightBlader: TwilightBlader, tale_wind, TwilightBlader

tale_wind was hard lynched without an increase in post count. The next most popular pick of the end of last round was a tie between everyone else with 0 votes a piece.

Notes: If the numbers are wrong or any of the names are wrong please inform me so the next update will be correct. I had some trouble sifting through all those posts in a timely and orderly fashion.

You may have noticed that mafia points have not made a return, because I'm making some changes to the system to try and best reflect who is doing the town the least good. This includes a lesser penalty for voting for a townsperson and a higher penalty for not voting, but this is based loosely on risk analysis so it will take some time to complete. So it will appear along with any other requested data in the next installment.
