    Update

Chapter 8 is up! Be sure to read. It's been a bit since I've updated, but I've been busy, and still am. Hopefully I can update faster next time. I don't know if someone cares to read this or not, but sorry for the delay.

This chapter contains some language. I myself don't like using it in my stories, but due to the nature of the story, it feels a bit necessary. Remember in earlier chapters, when Ein remembers how Bianca humiliated a certain classmate? Yes, that's right. Hopefully, you'll play attention to the signs that I've left....

I think Rurouni Kenshin was better. It's action was better, the characters were better, and more realistic.

Inuyasha I like too, but the fact that after the first few episodes things get repetitive, kills it. At first it had actual struggles in the action, after that Inuyasha is the only fighter and the rest become burdens.

As for the damsel in distress...Kagome goes a bit on that end farther. Not at first, but then she barely picks up a bow to do squat. At least Kaoru was actually more of a fighter and could stand up to the baddies. Kagome could, but for some reason she doesn't.

Actually, they aren't repeats, you just didn't quote them entirely. I'm just gonna say that if you're gonna debate something, then at least understand the context in which it's used and why. quoting some parts does not give a clear picture of the context.

I'm not really taking any sides, just providing that it's important to have clear info and not be vague, so that the debates can be fair and clear.

Same here, I'd recommend you read tuts to understand the extent of your tools. I don't know much of Photoshop, but it's not that different from GIMP.

I'm guessing you know how to create layers, right? After you create one, then you can change the layer mode, to overlay, screen, dissolve, ect. Just set the color you want the avatar to have and then set the layer to multiply.

But from what I'm hearing, I'd advice you read some tuts, and experiment with your arsenal of tools. I know it's tempting to try and post anything and everything, but it's essential to get a good grasp of what you're doing, too.

Another easy way to get around not-rendering the image is by creating the background layer and setting it to multiply, I think. For the avatar I have now uses that method.

As I said, just try some more gradients, effects, filters. Use your imagination, the possibilities are quite expansive.

To be honest, I think you just used a gradient and lowered it's opacity. In my opinion, I preferred the white ones. This isn't to say they are bad, they just look bland; that can work for some avatars(like the first dissidia batch), but not on these.

I think you should experiment with your brush and filter arsenal, and try new things...trial and error is sometimes the best way to get around.

To begin with....I believe that the first part explaining everything was rather unnecessary, it could have been more organized and interesting to add those parts into the narrative. There are little mistakes you should check, and the layout doesn't feel organized; there's not space between dialogue and, well...

I think overall you were trying to do something nice, but the execution on it could have been better. If I were you I'd explain Deviant and Hope's involvement in the story, since they just seem rather devoid of any sense, other than being there to be a stepping stone for the lovers.

Overall it's a good try, just need more practice, since it's not a bad idea what you've got here.

Quite a thrilling chapter. I think it's really above average at this point, but the lack of information is a problem, who's controlling the Yuraks? Why Tifa? I guess all this will be answered soon.

I must say though...I think you could do much better, so parts felt repetitive. I'd work on that, if you still have some unwritten chapters as I see it's not such a problem, but something minor to keep watch of.

I myself never agreed with the laws placed in the old testament. Aside from the ten commandments, the rest are ceremonial laws placed upon the people of Israel to differentiate them. We must bear in mind that most other nations worshipped gods that required very grotesque acts of sacrifice, incest, blood sacrifice and the list goes on. In the past times the ceremonial laws were required because people understood no better in diplomacy.

The laws there were sometimes broken, and their consequences were disastrous, of course at first I wasn't in accordance to so much killing and bloodshed, but we also have to consider the mindset of the past times. Those ceremonial laws are not required any more, but in the past the people of Israel had to establish themselves as a strong nation, and a strong God. Some acts in the bible do sound grotesque, yes, that much is true, but if you're willing to search that much, then you should also search for the reasons to such strict rules.

On a side note : Sacrificing the first-born refers to dedicating the son to the God, not sacrificing him; the main context of that law is specifying that the first comes God, so the first born would be dedicated to the Lord

I've got some questions and suggestions that alone shouldn't be bothered with, but if placed together could amount to something.

    • User groups : I'm sure most people use this for the lulz here, but we almost have groups for any fad of the moment, which are then left alone, and nothing done with them. Why do we have so many? Is this really required? User groups should be the way that normal members can join people with the same interests, but here it's just a mess of groups that sometimes don't even make sense, other than Lulz.

    • Forum Families : Okay, I'm sure there are differences in here and in the user groups, but really...that area seems kinda strange, mainly because it's just like the user groups. I know it's in the spam zone, but do we really need to make so many families/ fan clubs. If the families were generalized more, then we'd have something more organized and entertaining.

    • GFX Clans : This area is utterly dead. We have a great graphics community, and some, that under the right tutelage can become really good. I'm glad that the SotW is being taken up again, that will help with getting people back into graphics and what not, but, what will the clan section become?

    • Sticky color : Stickies are sometimes ignored, even when they are placed in the top parts of the forums, so if possible, why not make the titles a different color, so that people pay more attention to them?

    • Awards System : This one is an actual, full-fledged suggestion. Awards system refers to getting ribbon-like sprites to be able to present in your profile. I wanted to suggest this mainly because we have many competitions and nothing to commemorate them by. Imagine we could give SotW winners a nice ribbon sprite, so they could remember that they won that certain contest? Now, apply that to all the competitions, and even further with the User Awards. There would be a portion of one's profile to keep the ribbons somewhere. When I suggest this, the ribbon system in Pokemon comes to mind. Maybe we could get similar sprites to those? Or use those ones. This last suggestion may not be possible without SPdude, but it would be something nice to keep in mind if we ever get the chance.

Pretty good poems, I really think their meaning is laid out there, which is fine, since not all poetry should be uber-deep.

Overall I think you're doing fine and in time you'll improve a lot.

Well, you could, as long as you don't fall behind in the weekly posting, which may happen due to posting more than one weekly chapter.

This is very nicely written. I myself am no fan of fan-fics, but this was rather interesting to read. I won't comment on grammar or spelling, but I will say that you could tone down the "past left behind" just a little bit, since it seems like the majority of the paragraphs are in the same direction. I understand the point you are trying to convey, but not every sentence has to bash it at our skulls.

After a while people predict those little bits and just skip them, that's why I'm advising you on it. I enjoyed the first chapter very much, especially the ending.

This last poem I understood quickly. I think it's a tad bare-bones for what you normally write, but in it's own right it's a great poem. Strange is the day when I can understand your poems so easily.

I myself am blocked in the poem department. It seems that I can't write good poetry in a notebook, but I can in a text file. I find this very bothersome. It's nice to come back and see a nice poem from you every now and then.

I don't think I stand much chance, but I'd at least want to compete, I'm just not sure what band to use.

I'm thinking I'll go with Oreja de Van gogh. I like that one quite a bit.
