Depends on what's in the glass to me. If it's liquid medicine or something nasty, it's half full because I really don't want to finish it off. If it's beer or soda or something tasty, it's half empty because I'm sad it's almost gone.

Or I could twist it all the way around and say "It's just wet." :P

I thought this was rather interesting.

I live near Boston, and there's been a rise in parking tickets there. So the city had decided to try a new program.

The program is running from now until Dec. 12th, and states that parking tickets received from Dec. 2-4 can be paid with a toy rather than cash.

There are several catches, of course. For starters, the toys must equal the same value as the parking ticket (for example, a $50 ticket can't be paid with a supermarket surprise toy.) or more. The toys also need to be violence free, so no electronic rifles or anything like that. They have to be new and unwrapped, and a receipt must be brought proving that you bought the toy (can't go stealing to pay off a fine, y'know).

Here's a link so you don't think I'm making this up:

    http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO97808/

Thoughts? I myself think this is a good idea, but I wonder how well it will work and just how many people are actually going to follow those guidelines. Especially for repeat offenders who really rack up the charges.

Never did really notice that. Maybe it's just the clothes, like ICSP said. Usually when something's circling someone's face, it makes said face look pudgy.

*cracks knuckles* Until Repliku gets here, let me try.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, more or less. While last time I moved was when I was 8 years old, everything else you've said up there fits me to a T. My self esteem is so low I don't think it can go any lower. My first and only boyfriend dumped me because he felt I was too fat for him, when for two years he told me not to do anything drastic because he had said that didn't matter. And that was 4 years ago. I haven't dated anyone since, and felt that maybe he was right, maybe I was too fat for him, maybe too fat for anybody. (For the record, I'm only 15 lbs. overweight. I've lost almost 60 lbs. since then).

I'm in college now, and I've certainly gotten better, since after the breakup I had gotten so depressed I even contemplated my own suicide. I never went through with it (of course), because it just made no sense. While yeah, maybe I'm not as pretty or skinny as those other girls out there, I have more friends than them simply because it's not just looks that matter; it's you as a person. I'm the comedian/artist of my circle, and I now have the tightest-knit bunch I've ever had in my 20 years of life. I do what I want, when I feel like it, without worrying what everyone else thinks of me. Personally, I'd rather someone with okay looks but a great personality rather than someone who was a model wannabe but had the attitude to boot.

Try looking around your community for things that interest you. If you have a particular hobby, look around. You're bound to meet new people at those places, and eventually make new friends to hang out with. Do the same with clubs at school. Get involved. Put yourself out there and have some fun. Find things you are interested in, and maybe give some new activities a go.

And heck, if you're on these forums, you're never alone. There's always someone on here to come and vent to.

Hang in there, man. *gives pie*

    So..

Cell phone just went off. Number was "RESTRICTED" as it showed on my caller ID. Pick up, went " 'lo?", was hung up on after 4 seconds.

    Should I be concerned?

Good to see they plan on bringing the game stateside. Question is, are they going to take as long to do that as they did bringing Re:CoM over?

I thought it was kinda funny that they didn't really update the site and put the game out there. Maybe they thought Kingdom Hearts had been forgotten somehow (which we all know based on this forum is a lie. Even more so than cake.)?

Personally, the front page of the site served as all the advertising I needed, lol.

Then again, was there much advertising for TWEWY as well? I had no clue it was out until people here started talking about it.

Oh...I'm confused...aren't Coded and Mobile the same game? From what I had heard, i thought they were the same game, unless I missed some news way back when...

Ah...never heard it put that way...my manager (I'm a retail peon here...lol) likes to think it's called Black Friday because he writes his gains in black, and losses in red. On Black Friday, he runs out of black pens because he's done so much business. Of course, this man is the same guy who'll strut into work with an M&M tie on because it's Payday.

    /end slight off-topicness

Anyway, when I said Black Friday should be banned, yeah maybe that'd be a stretch, but seeing as how people are willing to come to blows over deals now it might not seem like such a far-fetched idea anymore. I was trying to see it from the viewpoint of how many more lives, if any, have to be lost because people nowadays are just too greedy for their own good.

Which is exactly why eBay, Amazon, and several other online sites have become my best friends. No crazy crowds. And no one's gonna shoot me through the computer screen if I snap up the last PSP Bundle.

I have Toon Disney, so I still get to watch it. Which is great, me being the Disney Buff of the family, who still gets a good giggle out of the classics. Like this from Timon and Pumbaa on the show:

Timon: "Waiter, there is a fly in my friend's soup! I want one too!"

Y'know, between this story and the employee getting trampled at Wal-Mart, I think Black Friday sales should be banned or something. It's getting way out of hand. And you know it's sad when a TV for 20% off is more important than a human life.
