My high school stopped doing them after the class of 2007 graduated. But they used to be awesome.

I've long since graduated high school but vividly remember senior year...they grouped us by color (seniors=black, juniors=blue, sophomores=red, freshman=white). The upperclassmen "tagged" the freshman class by drawing on their shirts, painting them, what have you. The principal ignored it for the most part (which was half the reason I came in toting 2 Super Soakers filled with watered down black paint).

There was always a huge assembly in the gym and it always had a few acts by the cheerleaders and percussion group, then our school's TV show would put on a special episode for pep rally.

I remember it was always held before Thanksgiving break, on the Wednesday we had as a half day before Turkey Day.

I'll be 21 in two weeks, but I've never thought of myself getting "too old" for any of this stuff. I don't think it's a big problem for me; I've known many adults much older than myself that do things you'd see younger folks do (ever seen your dad play Rock Band? Your mom Zelda?)

I'll never forget one of the first anime cons I had cosplayed at, someone came up to get my picture and I told they could, so long as I got one of them. Their cosplay of Jenova was amazing. The funny thing? The woman in the cosplay just had her second kid, and she was in her mid 30s.

I think staying young at heart is actually pretty good for you, so long as you don't shirk your responsibilities as you age or forget to prioritize. Don't be the guy I know who sometimes chooses between buying gas for the car or buying more Fruits Basket.

I think I've seen it, although the one I have has "Rated M for Mature" on it with the ESRB logo.

AFAIK, in my state, we have nothing of the sort. You're tested once at 16 1/2 for your license, and that's it. You're never tested again.

Ideally, I would love for it to be once your license expires, you need to be retested (which would be every 5 years here or so). Then we're not just singling out just the elderly (because driving recklessly is something I see up here regardless of age).

Not sure how it works elsewhere...

    Ugh...Haley, bad pun. XD

Forgot one; back in January my car was getting the oil changed on top of a couple of other necessities. I'm waiting in the lobby when the mechanic looking at my car wants me to come take a look at it. I prepare myself for their usual "You need X" spiel where they try to sell you stuff.

    "D'huh, your fluid is blue."

    Uh...what?

    "Your transmission. It's blue."

    Let me see that.

The guy was dipping the tester in the well where windshield wash fluid goes. The stick was bright blue.

My car's been nicknamed Preggers ever since.

I'm in Massachusetts, where drivers just generally suck as a whole. Hence the term "M@sshole".

What they'd like to pass is mandatory re-testing every five years or so. Right now we have nothing of the sort; seniors are pretty much allowed to drive as long as they want to, even pulling them over for numerous traffic violations doesn't stop them (like I posted with that woman who hit the preschooler who had 6 violations on top of the vehicular manslaughter charge). Last I checked the news today (which was around 5:30 pm) they wanted the base age to be 85 to start the retesting.

    85.

    I hope that gets lowered...

There's been talk of this in my state. In this month alone in my state there have been 5 fatal crashes involving elderly drivers. The latest involved a woman in her 80s who struck and killed a 4-year old girl who was crossing the street in a crosswalk. The woman had 6 previous violations, 5 of which were more accidents, since 1982. Her license has since been revoked because she was an immediate threat. She has since been charged with vehicular homicide.

Now legislation is pushing for stricter rules for elderly drivers, which could potentially limit when elderly drivers can drive, or what age they must turn in their license and get off the road, or how often they are tested. While many agree that this should be done to try and prevent further accidents (because when drivers reach 80 years of age, the odds of a fatal accident quadruples), others feel this is a violation of their rights.

I want to know what you think, either as a driver or as someone who knows an elderly driver. I'd like to hear all sides to this.

Myself, I feel they should go ahead and push for stricter driving rules. I've had too many near misses with elderly drivers to consider letting them stay on the road. I don't think they can see things as well at that age as they did when they were younger, which can make them a hazard on the road if they aren't paying attention or seeing things.

    So....you?

There will be some DSi exclusive games, but there will also be some games that work on both (err, all 3) systems, but have "extra" features that will only work on the DSi. Think of that as a DVD with Internet bonus features that you can't get to with a typical dvd player, but could by using your computer's DVD-ROM.

Sounds interesting, but I might wait until it comes on DVD to see it right now. I've got a few movies lined up that I want to see first (Transformers 2 being one of them), and not enough cash on hand to see them all.

Ebichu. The epis are only 9-10 minutes long each, and the story's hysterical. The only thing is it's rather..umm...dirty. We screened it at my college's anime club, and we had to check if everyone was over 18 before showing because all it is is sex, sex, sex, bestiality, sex, sex more sex.

Not that sex is a bad thing. It's just bad when the whole show revolves around a female Hamtaro.

If you do watch, look out for the Dokuro-chan reference. I had to rewatch the episode it was in just to make sure I was seeing things.

My best friends are definitely lacking a few neurons, but they can still be funny. Once we got the bright idea to make a flametorch out of a can of Axe and a lighter. Thank god the can didn't explode.

Then, the last time we went camping one of 'em decided it was perfectly legit to use gasoline to keep our fire lit. Only cost us our eyebrows, but we were warm.

Another friend climbed a tree and was two feet away from a telephone wire....

And my roomie last year got hit by a parked fire truck at 2 in the afternoon, and he thing had it's lights on.

Not sure. I'm guessing it means not to work too hard or you'll wear yourself out and become somewhat useless.

Only reason I kept it was because my drunken mind went "Hurr hurr...rod...i bed...hurr hurr hurr"

This is a classic book. It's one I read to my students all the time, when they've heard "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" and "Strega Nona" too many times.

It'll be interesting to see what the movie does to the storyline.

I didn't think they made enough music to warrant a full game. Maybe a track pack or DLC, but not a full version of the game.

Plus, how many albums have they made? 3? 4?

I went into the Control panel and checked; sure enough, I forgot I had let my grandmother borrow the comp and she's a lefty, so she swapped my controls around. Seems to be fixed now. Thanks!
