you need a STRONG computer to emulate PS2 games. i hope you know that =P and you also need a good graphics card ( more than likely you'll have to do what i did and buy a really good one )
yes codes like infinte lives and max money are hacked like that. but depending on what you want ( like the riku code ) reqires a different method
you think COM is bad, check out jak 3 ( thats what i'm working on now ). the ELF file is only like 207kb and it's not multi-ELFed. you have do dump EVERYTHING which is a real pain =[
