While Kingdom Hearts is a series that takes itself seriously at the right times, it isn't, overall, a dire series. I can see that which each coming game, the atmosphere gets a little darker, but it still retains that piece of it that makes it a series for all ages. Roxas, Xion, and Axel are a melancholy trio, Nobodies, and they're very . . . serious, I guess. I feel like it would give the overall games a darker tone, and personally, I might not enjoy that. With Sora's laid back personality, and having his friends, I think that keeps things more lighthearted and not so . . . sad, I suppose. Given the chance, maybe having Roxas as the main character would be a good turn out, but he would need lots of character development, and they would have to move past his angst-like atmosphere quickly.
