Namine laughed softly, shifting her gaze to the ceiling. "Yeah, I guess that's true," she said with a slight nod. Even with all the practice in the world, though, I'd never be better than Roxas. She kept the thought to herself, though, seeing that Roxas was already flustered by the compliments she had given without thought.
They're a big Christian group. Their first two albums were harder rock but then they started incorporating different instruments like violins and...
Namine scooted over on the bed, turning on her side slightly so she could see Roxas better. She scoffed at the words, eyebrows furrowed. "Of course it is," she said, her tone serious though inside she felt playful. "How can I even begin to compare to you? You're so talented and amazing..." She realized that she had taken a turn in the conversation, speaking a bit more seriously now. Roxas really was better than she was, and deep down inside, she knew she couldn't come close to being as good as he was.
That's good, then. x3 It's one of the first songs I ever heard by them. I have all their cds. xD Their Christmas one is especially good.
"Ugh, I should have," Namine agreed, a sigh leaving her lips. She turned her head and looked over at Roxas, seeing the smirk that he was still wearing. "I guess after setting myself up so easily, I deserve to be tortured into performing it again." Though she made a big deal out of it now, she knew it wouldn't be a huge deal once it was over and done with. She was always afraid of the idea of putting herself out there, but she always did fine, so it wasn't a big deal when it was said and done.
You Led Me- BarlowGirl
It won't be easy, then. xD I have about 3 years experience, but I'm still not nearly as good I as I wanna be. Good luck! Yay! =)
Namine was just setting the guitar upright by the side of the bed as Roxas spoke, her eyes widening at what he was saying. She looked over him and saw that smirk, instantly realizing she had set herself up to sing the song and play it again. She groaned dramatically and flopped down on her back, staring up at the ceiling. "I really set myself up for that one, didn't I?" she moaned, not needing an answer to the rhetorical question.
That's fun! You have any experience playing? Oh, and you gotta look up the song "Mirror" (by BarlowGirl). It's one of my favorites.
"Thanks," Namine said softly, blushing underneath her already rosy cheeks. "I think it sounds better when I add in the lyrics, though," she added critically. She was always judging herself harshly when it came to music, but that was how she improved, even if she did come down too hard on herself sometimes.
Mirror- BarlowGirl
I've always wanted to learn it for piano...or guitar. xD Someday I'll have to actually learn it!
Namine shook her head slightly and lowered her hand, her bangs coming back down into her eyes slightly. "No," she said, turning her head as she shyly looked at Roxas. "I wrote that pretty recently." It had been a long project; it must have taken about a month before she fully completed it.
Sing Me A Love Song- BarlowGirl
Have you heard any more of their songs? They have a lot of good ones.
Namine held onto the neck of the guitar but set down the pick on the bed in front of her, bringing up her right hand as she shyly tucked back a bit of hair. She had done fairly well for not practicing for a while, but the song really was incomplete without her singing the lyrics along with it. That was her opinion, anyway.
I think I like the acoustic more than the original. x3
Namine played through the chorus with confidence, keeping her eyes closed. She furrowed her brows slightly when she missed a chord, but she recovered quickly, playing the last few chords gracefully as she ended the song completely.
That's awesome. ;3 They're one of my favorite bands.
Namine shut her eyes as she strummed through the second verse and into the chorus, becoming more confident as she went along. She always played with her heart, and this song had gotten her through a few dark nights. Once she made it past the chorus again, she slowed down her playing, humming as the words went through her head. "We cannot separate You're part of me And though You're invisible I'll trust the unseen" She paused for a second, the silence of the guitar emphasizing the very soft "Yeah, yeah" she sang in the break. She immediately began strumming again, picking up the pace to go through the chorus again.
