Her mind had come to this because of the device that she used to speak and her more-than-normal animated features and gestures. It was interesting, but unfortunate. The two girls walked down the hall and towards the exit. On their way out, Kallisti had seen some vaguely familiar faces; those from that video game party. Two boys that were Brookridge natives, and went into a familiar room. Ah, that room belonged to Miss Olivia. She wondered if she was friends or acquaintances with the two boys. The trip to the place called Ishmael Coffee, which was, as Cristina said, at the edge of the campus, was relatively pleasant and short. There was a little small talk between the girls about nothing in particular; maybe the area or the sights to see, such as the Heliocanthea. Kallisti liked the school's botanical gardens; it was clean and well-kept. She wondered if, by some chance, Crestatia would ruin it somehow. Someone might lose the game there? She had a feeling it was going to happen . . . As they were seated at an out of the way table in the cafe, Kallisti received a message and pulled her phone out of her pocket. Upon reading who it was from, her face slightly reddened and her eyes momentarily glanced up at Cristina's face, wondering if she had noticed the change behind Kallisti's scarf, which she had yet to unwrap. I'm not feeling good today.I miss you.See you soon?- Harley What kind of message was that? Certainly not something someone sent to their close-in-age cousin. They were not dating, Kallisti was not into incest. Harley was not bad-looking, but it was simply out of the question. Or . . . did he truly miss her? Why would that be? She sighed and typed up a reply. . . . Do not play games with me, Harley.I do not miss you, but . . .Perhaps I will come to visit you tomorrow.- Kallisti Quickly, she placed her order for their waiter, slipped off her jacket, loosened her scarf and settled in. She looked up at her new . . . acquaintance? Cristina wasn't exactly a friend, yet, they hadn't known each other that long, but . . . it seemed that they could become friends, soon. " What do you think of the school, so far? " she asked, starting a conversation that wasn't too serious, " I have heard that the . . . the headmistress is a force to be reckoned with. Indeed, she could go for something warm after walking in the cold. " It's okay if you don't want to go. " Cristina then told her, and Kallisti frowned, " I could always go alone, or we could go somewhere else. " She put her hands up and shook her head, " It is fine, really. Going to the coffee shop sounds like a wonderful idea and it would be my pleasure to join you. " And to show she was being honest, she smiled, " I shall go get dressed now. " Her mind tried not to focus on the marks on her legs and she quickly walked to the closet to retrieve some clothing and changed in the restroom. When she came out, she grabbed some other things and slipped them into her pocket, such as her phone and her little wallet that kept her card and money. She looked at Cristina when she was all ready, " Whenever you are ready to go, I will be waiting. " she told her with a smile. She took it, from Cristina asking about them, that she wasn't sexually active at all - which, don't get her wrong, was lovely, and she was glad for that because . . . Well. Suffice to say, she was glad. She sighed. " Do you have any plans today? " Cristina asked her, dragging her out of her abysmal mind. She didn't know . . . Did she have any plans today? With the manner in which the morning had launched, sulking seemed to be a prime order, but she detested the thought of wasting a day, wallowing in her own self-pity. " YOU'RE SHOWING YOUR SHAME, KALLISTI. " At first, she couldn't possibly think of what he meant, but when she watched Cristina's head and eyes turn down to look at her legs, she followed the line of sight as well. . . . Cristina pointed at her legs. In an immediate action, she flung the blanket over her legs and drew most of her body into herself, under the blanket as well. Her face was burning and her eyes stung with impulsive tears. How could she have been so careless? " YOU'RE SHOWING YOUR SHAME, KALLISTI. " Are you not supposed to help me keep my secrets, Kal? Why did you not tell me she could see them?! I THOUGHT THAT YOU KNEW SHE COULD SEE THEM. IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOU'RE CARELESS! You are being hypocritical! I thought you were supposed to protect me! She was dangerously close to crying, still in shock that her new roommate, this girl that she had just met days ago, already saw . . . saw her shame. Cristina hadn't been able to see her face, so her abrupt crying finished just moments before Kallisti calmed herself and looked up, her face apologetic and cast with barely-visible shame. " Excuse me . . . " she confessed, willing her voice to be steady. Her mind traveled to how she spoke around Miss Olivia; very calm and serene, as if she had not a care in the world. The more that drew into her mind, the warmer her voice and tone became, " It was an accident that happened from when I was very young. Severe rope burn, and as you can see, it has never quiet healed. " It wasn't necessarily a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth. Cristina was a nice girl, but Kallisti didn't know if she could trust her fully to not judge her negatively or to pity her completely. As her roommate, Cristina might have thought she had some sort of . . . obligation to worry over her own sake, but Kallisti did not want that, to make her worry, or anyone else worry for that matter. " It was a very long time ago. " she restated, a bit of admonishment in her voice. Sounded a little bitter, that text. Did he want to see Alli today? Today was a bad day. Bad days affected his behavior and brought out the . . . less pleasant side of him. Nah, he didn't want to subject her to that. Maybe she wanted company, though. Alli was lonely, he could always tell by that melancholic look on her face whenever she saw people chatting with each other or him talking to someone else while she stood close to him. That pink voice was so familiar, she had the person at the front of her mind, their name at the tip of her tongue, yet she couldn't recall. It was the most irritating feeling and she wished it gone. She had not seen the owner of the voice, it had only echoed throughout the void where she stood; that voice . . . delicate and strong at the same time, had warmed her so much, circled her whole body, made her feel . . . lovely. Kallisti's dream had slightly shaken her, so she awoke with a small start; surely, her roommate had taken no notice of it, though - she hoped. " Good morning, Miss Cristina. " she said, sitting up in her bed and rubbing at her eyes. She moved around slightly, adjusting her night clothing so that it looked more . . . appropriate on her. She swung her legs out of bed, unconscious of the fact that Cristina might see the makings that were on her legs, " How are you? It seemed that Harley didn't have a roommate anymore - the guy never returned to their dorms, so he basically had a room to his own. Not that he minded, living alone for three years. Alone . . . His mind traveled back to how it ended up being like that. On the outside, his family was a picture-perfect deal. No one would be able to guess the many dirty businesses that went on in the inner workings. Frankly, he thought his family was the worse thing in his life. Sure, they could afford basically anything in the world that they wanted, but they were all malicious people. Yeah, they looked out for their own, but it was an obligation-thing. The only real human in his family from the previous generation was Lilith, his aunt, Lee's wife, Lorinda's daughter, and Kallisti's mother. . . . And he had seen what happened to her. He loved Lilith like his own mother ( even though his own mother was a complete wreck thanks to his dear old dad ), and he had thought that Lorinda loved her very much, too, but . . . She hadn't the slightest idea what it might have been that changed, but she could look at her cousin now without internally screaming. A small blush appeared on her face and she pulled her black scarf up to her mouth, closer, to conceal the expression. Much to her joy, Kallisti had found a PlayStation 3 unattended too and a wide variety of games - and just the one she was looking for! Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Quickly, before anyone else could come, she grabbed a chair, turned on the game and began to remove her jacket. Soon, she was playing multiplayer and earning the high score in her second session as The Courtesan. Ah, it was almost as if she were home and life was normal . . . [ TUMBLR • OBSERVATION SUBJECTS • LATEST ][ YOU • ME • NAMES • LINKS • HATRED ] • [ MOOD : TIRED ] xxxxxxxxxx Without fail, Harley had beaten Alli there. He didn't blame her though, she was the less athletic of the both of them, but it had been fun to see her try and catch him. When she had come after him, Harley realized that another message was waiting to be read. Heidi had probably responded. Was she still having problems with figuring out how to work the phone? He laughed a little. He could probably help her out some time, if she asked. they are very complicated.make no sense.don't know what to do with it.no one told me 'bout a party.have fun.-heidi He frowned at the text. He and Alli hadn't been invited, and they still came. It was an open party, and Heidi probably didn't talk to many people. He began to think though, she was probably nervous around lots of humans at once, and he didn't know if he wanted to ask her to come if it was a danger to her sake. It couldn't hurt to suggest? Harley normally wasn't unsure, but he didn't know Heidi well and long, so he was basing off of what he did know of her. You didn't have to be told. It's an open invite.Come if you want. There's food and video games.People. Potential friends?Good luck with your phone. I can always help, if you want.If you don't come anyway, stay safe.- Harley. She might be the only person besides his cousin that he has worked so hard to be friends with, or to at least . . . know on a generally good level. Alli had been a hit an miss, but they became friends naturally. Harley didn't make friends, he made enemies and toys. A loud, girlish voice snapped him from his thoughts " I have arrived. " He looked to see who it was and saw a girl dressed as something out of a magazine for . . . bad outfits and weird lipstick. She had a nice body though, probably a pretty face, but she didn't mean much to him upon first sight. For a moment, he thought to go talk to her, but then someone else had, a boy with brown hair, had appeared first. When he looked back again, Alli was watching someone play a game. Oh, it was Anthony, the Hero. Harley let a smile creep onto his face. Anthony seemed visibly better since their last interaction. He was glad. Oh, the Super Nintendo. Nice. Harley made his way over to Alli and Anthony, but occasionally threw glances at the person playing the PS3 and the girl who reminded him of a peacock. With . . . ridiculous lipstick.
