Sora nodded faintly, not surprised. Kairi probably wasn't too happy with him, considering what pain he must have caused her by killing somebody she loved. He winced at his physical and emotional pain, leaning forward and setting his elbows on his knees before he folded his hands in front of him.

Sora saw Kairi's frown and he felt his eyes soften. He didn't like seeing her unhappy. He loosening his grip on her wrist further, making it so that she could move away if she wanted to. He would have understood if she did; he didn't know where he stood with her, and whether he was in a good place or a bad one.

Sora put his legs over the edge, seeing Kairi sitting on the floor near where his head had been sitting on the pillow. "Thanks," he said, nodding to the rag. He felt better because of it, and he was sure that it had helped him wake up. That, and he appreciated the gesture. It proved to him that Kairi didn't hate him for what he did to Nathaniel.

Sora opened his eyes after a minute, eyes wandering up to the rag on his forehead. As much as he appreciated it, he didn't need it any more. He gently moved his hand to Kairi's wrist, lifting it a little bit as he changed his position, sitting himself upright. However, he kept his light grasp on Kairi's wrist.

"Mmm," Sora murmured, feeling Kairi adjust the rag against his forehead. He was aware that his hand was still on her arm lightly, but he couldn't bring himself to move it. Not only was he weak; he also just wanted to leave it there to be in contact with her.

Sora shut his eyes, his head pounding too much for him to keep his eyes open. "How long was I unconscious?" he mumbled, though he was pretty sure he said it so that it was coherent enough to be understood. It had felt like a long time, and it appeared to him that Kairi had been with him for a long time.

Sora saw all the emotion on the surface of Kairi's eyes, though he couldn't pick out specific ones. She was a wreck. He exhaled a heavy breath in pain, trying to focus on Kairi. Despite everything, he still loved her, and he cared about her deeply. He wanted to help in any way he could, even if he didn't know what he could do.

After a few more seconds, Sora forced himself to open his tired blue eyes. First, he saw that the arm he had touched led to a person holding a wet rag to his forehead. And then he followed the arm in the other direction and his eyes landed on the person in front of him. Kairi.

Sora grunted softly at the pain, feeling as if the building had actually collapsed on him. No, that was Nathaniel, he thought grimly. He chased away the anger, the pain being the center of his attention. Without thought, he brought up a hand, feeling it land on somebody's arm. This confused him greatly. What...?

Sora thought he heard something, but he couldn't identify what it was. In his unconsciousness, he shifted positions a little, turning his head more towards Kairi. He was aware that there was something cold on his forehead, but he didn't know what it was or why it was there. However, he was forcing himself to wake up now, so he would get answers to those questions soon enough.
