Sora felt Kairi's gaze on him and he turned his head to face her, nodding once at her words. "Right. That's what we always did before," he said, repeating what she said. It was true, and he hoped that it applied to the future as well. He turned his head forward again, looking towards the wall. "Someday it'll all work out," he said softly, trying to convince himself of that.
We'll jump to that as soon as we find a good breaking point, then.
Sora set the water on the table beside him, feeling the heaviness in the air around them. "I really am sorry," he said softly, his eyes lowered to his hands in his lap. "I'm...a mess, right now." He didn't like confessing that to Kairi, but he felt as if she had a right to know that much.
Perhaps they can both be at the park? Mmm...maybe the girls could be with them, but either Sora or Roxas can ask them to walk away for a minute so...
Sora opened up the bottle without a problem, the teen then lifting it to his lips and drinking some of it. He had to admit, the coolness in his throat helped calm him down a little more. He lowered the drink and twisted the cap back on, a soft sigh leaving his lips as he leaned into the back of the couch.
A tad, yes. ;3
Sora brought his hand off his forehead, opening his eyes and looking up at Kairi. "Thanks," he said automatically, reaching out his hand and taking the bottle out of her hand.
It's simple. xD Somehow, somewhere, Roxas and Sora run into each other. Roxas tries to apologize for what happened, but Sora gives him a warning...
You're supposed to be the strong one right now, Sora reminded himself, having been thinking about that for a while. Kairi was surely recovering from Nathaniel, and he was supposed to be fully devoted to helping her with that. Instead, now he had to deal with everything that Roxas had forced him to recall. Terrific.
I actually came up with another small idea that we need to do before that. xD
When Kairi was out of his sight, Sora leaned forward more on the couch, his elbows on his knees and a hand on his forehead. He exhaled a silent breath, shutting his eyes. This is weakness, you know, he told himself harshly. You need to put this behind you so that Kairi isn't worried. You saw the look in her eyes; she's concerned for you. It shouldn't be that way.
Ah, I see. xD
"Um," Sora blinked, trying to find the words to answer Kairi's questions. "I'll just take a water." He really wasn't hungry; he actually felt a little sick to his stomach because of how quickly reality set in on him. Hopefully the water would help him get rid of that feeling, though.
xD How long do you think you'll be on? Ugh, crazy internet is the worst. Dx
Sora nodded slightly, glancing up at Kairi before looking downwards again. Snap out of this, Sora, he told himself. You can't have a mental breakdown in front of Kairi. Obviously she saw he was upset over everything that had happened, but that didn't mean he had to lose it completely.
Wow, that's cool. xD
Sora saw the look in Kairi's eyes, and he knew that she had seen how serious and troubled he was by what occurred in the past four months. He lowered his gaze to the couch, weariness in his blue eyes. "Sorry," he said, though he wasn't sure what he was sorry for. "I just..." Just what? He didn't even know what he was saying anymore; he was a mess.
Sora turned his head to look over at Kairi again, the brunet seeing that she was looking at her hand on his back. He felt like he needed to say something, to reassure her that he was fine with what happened in Christmas Town. But he wasn't, and he doubted that he ever would be.
