'Wake up. We're done for today.'

Henrik's eyes shot open immediately as he took in a breath of fresh air. He pushed himself slowly to his feet, water dripping from his hair and as a breeze came by he couldn't help but shiver. He was used to the cold but even he had his limits. Just as he was about to push off the excess water from his clothes he paused for a moment to take a look at his hand. He had been holding the obsidian knife. His eyes narrowed towards the weapon before stuffing it into his coat pocket and swiping off the water from his clothes with a flick of his wrist. Unfortunately, telekinesis wasn't the best way to dry clothing.

'You're going to catch a cold. Humans are so disgusting when they're sneezing all over the place. I won't allow us to get sick with such a degrading illness. Let me just...'

'Let you just what?' Without ever getting an answer, Henrik's clothes were suddenly dry. No mist, no flame, no sign of any power being used other than the fact that a pain shot through his skull for a moment as Lei took over for a brief instant. Henrik growled lowly in anger over being pushed to the side so easily. He looked around at the others who were with them. They were just four. 'Where's Iris?'

    'Maybe she got kidnapped again.'

Iris slowly opened her eyes, staring out at her new surroundings. Her memory was blurry but--No, she remembered what happened. She had been talking to Henrik about...something, then something happened to the boat, then there was water everywhere, then she woke up. She blinked several times as she tried to make heads or tails of where she was. She narrowed her eyes only to find herself looking at a fuzzy figure saying something about finding the others. Iris scrambled for her glasses, finding them only several inches away from where she had woken up. The frame had been bent and the lenses were scratched but thankfully they were not cracked. Once they were back on she immediately recognized the boy she had seen standing as the same one Henrik had brought to Russia.

"Where are we?" She asked her husband...only to find that he was nowhere to be seen. "Henrik...?" She stood up slowly and looked around. Still no sight of him. The only ones with her were Brandon and some other man. Apart from worrying over where Henrik was she could only wonder how they ended up in this place to begin with. It was hardly luck they had to blame.

He hated the idea of leaving Iris back in Russia but considering that it was either that or let her travel with others(who he didn't trust) or come with him(which was even more dangerous) there was no better option. Of course, he could have stayed behind with her but she insisted that she wasn't going to be abducted again anytime soon. During their business over at London, Henrik never once drew his own sword. His telekinesis was more than enough to kill any "zombie" before they came in arm's length of him. If Henrik had once found violence to be entertaining, he would definitely not have found it particularly fun to slaughter such weak creatures. In fact, he wondered what the point of him tagging along was other than to prepare against the slight chance that Lu or another angel came after them. Fortunately, that didn't happen and everyone came back in one piece.

For once, things seemed to be going almost smoothly. That couldn't last long. Rather than go to sleep, Henrik stayed awake in the plane thinking that if anything could go wrong, it would be on the trip back. After all, as long as there was still an airplane to crash there was still something that hadn't been checked off in the day's to-do list.

So after having done more than everyone else this day(or, rather, nothing) Henrik and Iris went to their own room. As Iris readied herself for bed, Henrik checked his phone despite knowing that no one would be calling him. It was out of force of habit. What surprised him was that he had missed a call. Six calls all from the university they had left. There was no reason for Kalia to be calling him now that they had left. It's not as if they had forgotten anything and she could hardly want to start up an argument with him now. He was out of her hair now and that was what he was sure she wanted. Henrik shook his head and sat down on the bed. He and Iris went to sleep without any fuss because Arch was too tired(and had a headache) to write more.

One thing you forgot to mention is that this is a railway. I was wondering how it would only take 4 minutes to cross 8 miles when you'd need a car going at a constant 120 miles per hour which isn't exactly the smartest idea. With trains however, that's no problem. This is kind of interesting.

"Relax, woman. I kept the last vessel alive longer than just a few days. A lot longer." Lei smirked. Though, admittedly, the last time he did kill poor Henry by staying in control for too long. Human bodies were so fragile. He hoped Henrik would be able to prove himself to be at least as durable as his predecessors.

    "This isn't a joke!"

'Fine. You can have your husband back.' Lei closed his eyes, prying Henrik away from the losing battle against the other consciousness before he could get killed. Once Henrik gained control of his body he cursed under his breath. The other man he had been fighting was stronger, faster, and had far superior control over his powers than Henrik had. He could hardly believe that someone could push themselves so far. Of course, Henry had years of experience over Henrik. He just had to find a way to overcome that advantage overnight before the fight continued once more. Lei didn't have to give him control of his body, he had just been playing nice with the others.

"...No problem...Everything's fine." Henrik assured Iris who hardly seemed convinced. Once the group arrived at a hotel, the two wasted no time in going to sleep although Henrik was reluctant as he was certain Lei would force him to fight against the other consciousness, Henry. Just the name alone disturbed him, as if he was supposed to be some reincarnation of Lei's past vessel doomed to fall into the same fate. After spending some time thinking over how he would approach his next encounter with the man, Henrik finally fell asleep.

"Did you get any sleep last night?"

"I suppose. In fact, you could say that I'm still sleeping right now."

"I have something to show you."

Henrik had no idea how much time had passed. There was no Sun to tell him if it day had ever come. No stars were in the sky, it merely glowed like a dying ember, the faint light reflecting off the surface of the obsidian ground that stretched as far as the eye could see. This had been the same environment his dreams had taken place for several days now. Henrik made no effort to respond to Lei who stepped to the side to reveal another person standing just behind him.

It looked exactly like Lei. 'Great. Now there's two of them.'

"No. Not two. He is the one who came before you. One of my personal favorites to be honest. If only because I got the most use out of his body than any other vessel." Lei smiled while the other remained silent. "Henrik, meet Henry. Henry, meet Henrik. You two have a lot in common." Lei placed his hand on Henry's shoulder. "I made this one kill his wife and their unborn. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to do the same to yours."

"Why are you telling me this?" Henrik growled.

"You'll see." Lei turned around before beginning to walk away. "Oh, and only one of you can walk out of here alive. Wouldn't it be interesting if Henry got to keep your body? Well, only if I allow him to borrow it." Lei snapped his fingers and vanished from sight, leaving the two alone.

Henrik blinked and raised an eyebrow. "He's got to be kidding." It was bad enough Lei robbed him of his body but now he was expected to fight for second place? Henrik had no plans to waste his time when he could still go after Lei. He had to be somewhere in this wasteland. As Henrik began to follow after Lei, ignoring the man called Henry, the man suddenly reacted and drew Nakah from out of thin air.

"Where do you think you're going, kid?"

"Get out of my way, old man." The difference between their ages could hardly have been more than ten years but if Henry was going to call Henrik "kid" it only seemed fitting to respond as such. "You're nothing more than some illusion of a past life. You have no reason to fight me."

"He took them from me!" The man immediately brought his sword down on Henrik.

Henrik barely managed to bring his own sword up in time to keep from getting cut in two. "You're not even real! Stand down!" Saying this only angered the man further. Henrik struggled to keep his blade between the two but as his arms began to shake he found himself being forced onto one knee. The man's strength was overwhelming and it made no sense for him to be overpowered so easily. Lei was the source of his power but this man? He was nothing but an illusion yet he was every bit as strong as the angel. "Back off!" The man's own sword began to change form and before Henrik could blink a sharp pain bit through his shoulder as a blade sliced down into it and his upper back. The man now wielded a scythe.

He twisted to the side, getting out from under the scythe before jumping back to make room between the two. A bladed chain wrapped itself around Henrik's right arm and cutting deep into his flesh. Henrik reacted by bringing Nakah down on the chain, shattering it before his arm could be torn off. He kept from looking at the wound, knowing it would only hurt worse by staring at it. 'Goddammit...' He took in a staggered breath as he did his best to keep from doubling over in pain.

"Lei's stronger than me. If you're doing this badly how do you ever expect to get your body back?" The man twirled his blade around in his hand. "I have years of experience over you. I have a better chance of making it out of here than you. So just roll over and die already."

"Funny. Lei's told me to do the same thing...Get over yourself. The person you're imitating is already dead."

    "Not as dead as you."

"I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!" Henrik charged at the man and-

Lei cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders. Iris seemed to notice that something was up with her dear husband but had not dared to make any comment. She must have been distracted with her own thoughts of her children. As much as Lei wanted to tie up loose ends with Kalia(note: he didn't actually give a damn about Henrik's problems), he had better things to do. Like greeting the bunch of nobodies who showed up to pick up their trash. Though as he led Iris towards the lobby where everyone else was, he began to regret bringing the woman along. He didn't want to introduce Henrik's wife to anyone nor did he care for meeting any of the other fodder in Xathanael's crusade.

"I didn't expect this many of you to still be alive." He spoke coldly as he arrived in front of the group, Iris giving him some kind of look of disapproval. What did she expect? Human greetings were so pointless. Before Henrik's wife could speak up, he decided to follow through with the petty introductions. "This is my wife, Iris." He motioned towards the blonde. "Iris, these are the Scooby Gang rejects." There. Introductions done. "What are you kids up to now?"

Henrik walked back--limped to be more accurate--towards his room. Winning the fight had proven more troublesome than he had anticipated. The pesky one was much more creative than he gave him credit for. It shouldn't have given him this much trouble. Perhaps he had just gotten soft or rusty with age. No, that wasn't likely. It was had to be something else. Something more. If he wasn't careful, the stress of their conflict would break the body for its time.

He pushed the door open to find Iris already in bed. She lifted her head to look at him when he walked in. The pain in her eyes was apparent. They were still no closer to getting the children back while they just waited here with no clear path to take. Maybe his own plans would have to wait for now. He was hardly in the mood now to follow through with what he wanted. Not with Iris giving him those sad eyes of hers. They only reminded him of a time long since past. He sat at the side of the bed, keeping his back towards Iris as he could hardly bare to look at her.

    "Good night, Henrik..."

"Good night, Iris." Humans were weak, their emotions got in the way, they could never reach their full potential with all those flaws. This body, mind, and spirit would fight him at every instant and in turn cause harm to itself in the battle for dominance. He was counting on it to push back with everything it had. He would wait this night out and see if his human vessel was capable of picking himself up for another beating.

    "It's not about the money."

"I was hoping you wouldn't say that. Look, I know we didn't end things on the best terms but--"

"Just shut up. The more time you spend here the worse I feel for her."

"Then why aren't you helping us out here?" Henrik knew Kalia had some point to make but whatever it was, she was refusing to say it. A long moment passed without any response to his question as she stared at him silently. "So it's just out of spite then?" Still no response. Henrik sighed and shook his head before leaving the room to head back to get Iris. Maybe she would have an easier time talking Kalia into getting them a flight out of there. He had hardly gotten a chance to prepare for travelling when he first left home and was forced to make due with what money he had on his person and now that had run out. ...And they couldn't exactly walk out of the country.

Henrik picked up his pace, feeling as if he was going nowhere fast. The path seemed so much longer than usual but perhaps that was just because of his impatience. The faster he walked the farther away everything else seemed to get. He finally stopped walking, clenching his fists tightly. "I don't have time for your games."

"And I've lost my patience with all of your human drama." Lei walked out in front of Henrik, hands clasped behind his back.

"I'm not even asleep. Considering how you've only tried to kill me at night..." Henrik approached Lei, intending to walk past him. "You don't have any power here. So don't waste my time with idle threats."

Lei gripped Henrik's arm, stopping him in his tracks. "Are you sure about that, professor?"

Henrik had planned for them to leave in the morning but obviously that didn't happen. Instead, he had spent most of the day arguing with Kalia while continuously avoiding her questions on what was really going on. Eventually, he managed to annoy her enough to warrant her fist ramming into his jaw. Kalia wasn't the type of person to just slap someone. When she got angry, she got really angry. Thankfully, given his abilities he could barely feel it but to avoid hurting her pride he acted as if it actually hurt him.

'Maybe you shouldn't have asked her to pay for a flight out of Russia.' Lei commented with no intention of hiding his amusement in his tone.

    'Maybe you should shut up.'

'Really? I expected some witty banter from you. Did she hit you that hard?'

Henrik sighed and refused to give Lei any further response as he headed back to the dorm where Iris was already waiting for him. "She really has it out for me." Henrik muttered lowly. "Asking her for any other favors was a bad idea." He sat down on the bed and scratched the back of his head, looking at Iris who had just started pacing back and forth. He knew what she was thinking but couldn't muster up the will to talk about it directly. "I know..." Henrik rubbed his forehead and closed his eyes. "But worrying ourselves to death won't change anything." So, after some time passed, the two went to sleep.

Never noticed this was here. There's something you should add to KH's Speedster trophy. You can get it even if you've played longer than 15 hours. You just need to let the clock run past 99 hours so that it restarts(and changes color to signify that you've played for over 100 hours). It might not be worth it, but if you've somehow managed to clock in that much time and still haven't beaten it then you can still get the trophy on that playthrough.

Damn. That looks really good. Way better than what I was expecting. Really want to see full-sized versions of those small pictures. Rock Titan is in one of those and the other...well it's hard to see what's going on there. Sora's doing some fighting. Maybe those "keyblade-guns" are in the pic? "Like a man on a mission?" Iris repeated before nodding to herself. "That sounds like him."

"What's going on here?" Kalia questioned impatiently.

"Enough. Just stop with the questions. If you want I can explain it all to you later but not now." Henrik growled lowly. "Not now, Kalia. Just let us sleep and I'll be out of your hair by the morning."

Kalia blinked at Henrik as her expression softened, her head tilting down slightly towards the ground. "...Fine. There are some dorms not far from here. You know the way, Henrik." Kalia turned slowly towards her desk and picked up two keys that were resting there. The message had been passed along to her that they would be needing a place to stay so she already had something ready for the trio.

"Thank you." Henrik took the keys, handing one over towards Brandon for a room of his own before glancing at the room number embedded on the key Henrik still held onto. His eyes flicked up towards Kalia for a brief moment before returning to the number on the key. He took in a deep breath and stared at the key for a moment longer before leaving the office without another word.

Once at their, pathetically small room, Henrik and Iris talked about what had happened since they last saw each other. Because, you know, she got abducted. Then they fell asleep.
