So, some of you might have heard of it, but there's been a school shooting in Finland... Here's what I know. A shooting incident has occurred at a vocational college in Kauhajoki, western Finland, on September 23, 2008. Police told YLE and another Finnish news agency they feared nine students have been killed and two have been injured. Media reports have suggested that there were an estimated 200 students in the building at the time of the incident, and the shootings began at around 11.00 am (EET). Police have reported the gunman, dressed in black and wearing a ski mask armed with an automatic weapon, was thought to be a 20-year-old student. He was disarmed and arrested. Local media reported that he had not been disarmed, but had shot himself. The gunman has reportedly been brought to a hospital with a gunshot-wound in the head but is still alive. The town mayor and hospital sources appeared to corroborate this. The gunman had earlier posted videos and pictures of himself wielding various firearms, similar to the perpetrator of the Jokela school shooting.
