Well then. That doesn't look good. The last hope for this game was the fact that being on PC might have meant that it would have had ALL THE GRAPHIX...despite being an online game. Welp. We have Sleeping Dogs HD to look forward to at least.
...
When, jokingly, told in an interview that Tabata should direct FFXVI he said he would want to make Final Fantasy Type-1 first. Not really any news considering Type-1 and Type-2 have been trademarked for years but it gives hope for the expansion of Type-0's universe. Have a gif to pass the time.
People who think Final Fantasy should stay turn-based. People who want to handshake. Banjos. D-bags who bring guitars and use them to play the four chords of that one popular pop song of the month. Having to go to the bathroom. Country music. That one generic whistling ringtone everybody has. People who think that there's no such thing as stupid questions. Bow ties. Pink houses. People. Adding unnecessary u's to words. The Nissan Cube.
I was really hoping this wouldn't be an online game. But I was sure that it would be. Oh well. Now I can only hope that it'll be good enough to look forward to.
R1 or the d-pad might be used to switch spells. Probably R1 since I'm mostly sure the d-pad will be used to switch between characters similar to Type-0. While I am a little disappointed that you can't teleport anywhere, I'm sure there'll be more than enough places to lock onto to make up for it. Most of this stuff are things I've heard already but I never found a source. So many people complained about holding a button to attack or dodge but if you can switch up your style mid-combo(by switching weapons or teleporting) then I don't see a problem with it. EDIT: New interview with Tabata here. The game is about 55% done since the time Tabata came onto the team two years ago(meaning not 55% after 8 years of work). FFXV trailer was all in-engine except for the "spaceship" scene which was pre-rendered. Driving was designed to feel real without getting too realistic. The game isn't totally open world but offers plenty of freedom and exploration. Lots of extra little details in that interview too. Nothing major for this game though. Edit 2: Camping out will be important. Characters need sleep or else they'll do poorly in battle. Weather will effect combat and magic. Magic like fire may even have disadvantages against the player. Monsters wander openly at night too. Source
Both my calendar and Google say otherwise. It's on the 23rd.
Back on the topic of FFXV...I'm glad this'll be a road trip game. It just feels right to me. I mean, just look at this gameplay: Spoiler Bro-trip Fantasy XV. I'll be waiting for the "Dude, Where's my car?" DLC patiently.
A lot of them aren't human. c:
TGS trailer: Still lookin' pretty.
Oh look. New trailer from TGS. Totally more relevant than XV and Type-0. Still, I love that they use Type-0's alternate ending song in the video. Oh and two characters from Type-0, Tiz and Lean Joker, have their faces revealed in the trailer. Basically, this game still exists.
Nope. Road trip bromance > everything This will be the greatest mainline Final Fantasy just for the sheer amount of bro it will contain.
Glad Tabata's directing now. Though I feel that he's a better director than Nomura I'm glad he wasn't involved from the beginning because he'd probably have Noctis and company die at the end. ;_; Maybe Tabata can direct FFXVI or XVII after this. c: In any case, this is a sign that XV doesn't need him anymore because of how far in development it is.
Feels funny watching Type-0 have better graphics than the entirety of the XIII series. It's to be expected considering everything. Pretty disappointed those 25 minutes of gameplay came from someone who wasn't very good(Rem should be spamming magic ALL THE TIME) and the fact that it only showed off Rem, Ace, and Seven. Dammit I wanted to see Machina in all his HD glory. The maps all look bigger than they used to. And dat lighting. Can't wait.[DOUBLEPOST=1411064160][/DOUBLEPOST]Opening cutscene(not really but close) right here:
Tabata directing the rest of this game is fine by me. He did direct Crisis Core and Type-0. So it's great. God damn it looks so good. Hng.
New source since Game Informer deleted their article. Be prepared for the internet to implode when that demo releases. I wonder how much this'll help Type-0 HD's sales. If it does really well Square might actually work on those Type-1 and Type-2 trademarks they filed years ago(though, unless they're prequels I'm not sure how it'd work). I'm basically the biggest Type-0 fan here and I still don't know if I should be more excited for that or a mere demo of FFXV. Hng.

Seems like this game's going to be at TGS. So excited. Also seems to be a "coming soon" title listed in between some of Square's games. It's possible this might be FFXV. Or a mobile game. Source: Gematsu
"So it's Ember, huh? I like that name." Kendric nodded to himself and looked over his shoulder, watching as Ember took refuge in Tal's hair and slept. He smirked and kept walking. "Maybe you should try it sometime, Damion. You never know what you're capable of until you push beyond your limits." He picked up his pace as the sounds of cheering grew closer. Kendric led the group through shortcut after shortcut, finding empty alleys and streets, as they headed towards the center of Zenith. The last alleyway they had to pass through to reach the street the parade was passing through had been packed to the brim with people who were doing their best to get a view of what was going on. Shades of green filled the alley with the source of light coming from the parade itself. Kendric sighed in disappointment. He knew that they had already missed Zenith's portion and now, given that green was the primary color of Belnuru, their people must have been marching through the street now. By the time they could push their way through the crowd they might be able to make it in time to see Knights of Eridis. "Come on!" Kendric ran forth pushing through the crowd knowing he had to get to the front. And there they were. Broadcasted on a floating image that stretched across the main road for all to see. The leaders of Belnuru, Eridis, and Zenith waved through the floating image. Cassian wondered where they were watching the parade from. Perhaps they were atop the capitol. It was the tallest building in Zenith and all of Pando. But then how would they see anything from up there? Another magic screen? When the parade was over the politicians would each give some inspirational speech about peace and friendship then proceed with ceremonial practices. It wasn't particularly interesting to him but every year after this event he noticed how uplifted everyone's spirits had become. It must have meant a great deal to them. He narrowed his eyes at the image, studying the stern faces of those standing behind the world's leaders. They each bore a different uniform signaling that they were from different parts of the world. The tallest of the bunch, dressed mostly in black, was a man he recognized as a high ranking officer from Eridis. Though the man was not the Knights' leader. Perhaps he was the next in line? Their leader must have joined the parade himself for the extra boost in morale. Not that anyone needed it. Cass scratched his chin as he stared up at the image. "Excuse me!" A boy shoved him to the side suddenly and stepped beside him. Cass rubbed his shoulder and stared at the black-haired lad. "Sorry." Kendric looked at the one who he had shoved in his haste to get to the front. He didn't seem angry and after Kendric had apologized he just stared up at the display of Pando's leaders. Shrugging the strange feeling off, Kendric stared at the street watching as the last of Belnuru's men and women marched off in the distance. The next group had an auras filled with shades of silver and gold. Excitement filled Kendric as he watched the man they were led by. General Abelard. Leader of the Eridis Knights and one of the most powerful men in history. The glimmer of gold and silver were trademarks of Eridis just as blue belonged to Zenith and green belonged to Belnuru. The meaning behind their primary colors was simple. Zenith was surrounded by the vast desert and yet it thrived. Simply put, Zenith was the lone oasis of the desert. Belnuru was a land filled with dense forests and for every tree cut down another was planted. It was all too obvious why green would be their primary color. But as for Eridis...many would think gold and silver were just representatives of the kinds of metal that could be found in the mines of their mountains but that was not true. In fact, it had less to do with reality and more to do with legend. It was said that the greatest weapon ever created in Pando's history was made of a metal known as ouranos, a material that could only be found on the moon Iah. Its strength was unrivaled by anything in all creation and one could easily tell it apart from any metal by its appearance. It was purest silver that shone gold in the light. The myths surrounding ouranos were so embedded into Eridis's early culture that this was what inspired its colors. The sky began to darken as a cloud blotted out the sun. It only made the auras of the passing Knights seem that much more brilliant. Kendric turned his head to the back of the parade hoping to catch a glimpse of the students who would be following next. The older boy beside him seemed distracted having turned his attention from the screen to the cloud above. He doesn't seem interested in the parade. I wonder what his deal is. Unable to see past the rest of the crowd he turned around hoping that the others had managed to find their way to the front.
