Yeah, but didn't they live on a compound? Sure, police could have done some things, but since they're a religion they couldn't do much. Now, what they did was despicable, but the law protected them from being prosecuted. It's like the thing with communion. If you drink wine under age at church, the police can't get you for under age drinking. It's really a shame the system has loopholes like that...
