Wait what? Why? WHY WAS I SUMMONED?
Everyone's been accepted. The RP is up here. If you have any questions on how to post or want some details, you know where to ask. The OOC has been updated with some details on the Ouranos.
Three Years Ago --------------------------------- The Elanus had entered uncharted territory far outside of Coalition space. With the nearest Gravity Rail being a month's travel in the opposite direction the Elanus was headed at maximum speed, civilization as its crew knew it was as far as it could be. Captain Irrin Quint leaned back on his chair as his eyes gazed upon the empty blackness of the void that was shown to him on the screen. This would be the same view he would have for many more light-years. As he turned towards his bridge crew, noticing his helmsman doze off due to the monotony of checking his console to ensure everything was running smoothly Captain Quint ordered the young Varuna girl to head to her quarters to get some much needed rest. After her replacement arrived to relieve her of duty, the ensign thanked him before quickly heading towards the lift to leave the bridge. "I understand we have been through this mission for two months now but the Coalition had detected communications from this sector. Has the interference you've been picking up cleared by now, Lieutenant?" He questioned his communications officer, turning in his seat to face the man. "No sir. For the past several days it has remained steady but just now it spiked. I'm picking up a weak signal along with it. I don't think this is static, captain." "Then we have arrived. Hold position here, helmsman. Lieutenant, prepare to send a message on all frequencies." "But sir...there's nothing around us." "You have my orders." "Aye sir. Ready for your message, captain." At long last, the Elanus had arrived at the location of the mysterious communication Coalition Intelligence had received. Though he commanded the flagship, he still questioned their orders for him. He was no diplomat well-versed in making first contact. He was a soldier. Still, they saw fit to send him. "This is Captain Irrin Quint, a representative of the Galactic Coalition. Your people has made contact with our own and we would hope that you reveal yourself so we may begin to make peaceful communication." There was a long pause. Nothing happened. Quint leaned on the armrest of his chair, his eyes fixed on the screen. "This is a representative of the Galactic Coalition. We come in peace. Can you show yourself?" Again, there was no response. "Lieutenant, is there anything wrong with your equipment?" There was a moment of silence. "No sir. Everything checks out. If there's anything out there, they should be reading us." Annoyed, Quint rubbed his chin. They had come too far just to be chasing after nothing. "This is Captain Quint, do you-" The entire ship rocked as a flash of light covered the screen. Alert sirens rang out. The distant sounds of explosions across all the other decks echoed through the bridge as the hull creaked and gave way to the massive force that struck the Elanus. "Sir! Our weapons were just taken out! Shields are down and the hull as been breached. Fires have broken out across all decks." As the Lieutenant continued to read him the status of the ship, Captain Quint stared at the damaged screen in shock. In just one instant he knew his ship was lost and with it the lives of his crew. He knew that the last thing he would ever see was the structure which had attacked them so viciously materializing before his eyes, having been invisible the entire time. Its mere geometry along with the haunting grotesque sounds that gargled through the communication channels horrified him. Present Day --------------------------------- Captain Altius looked through her duty roster, taking note of any notable crew members that were boarding the ship today. The Ouranos, her ship, was one of the few Horizon class starships that had been constructed and sported a state-of-the-art Aether Drive. She wasn't fond of the fact that her ship's source of power was also highly classified and wondered how her engineers would manage to work with such mysterious technology. Even though she was assured that operations would be similar to that of older Tachyon driven ships, she was not happy about this. Almira walked out of the airlock and onto the docking platform to which the Ouranos was attached. The ship was scheduled to leave within two hours and the last straddlers of her crew had not yet checked in. Perhaps they were enjoying their time off before their first assignment on the station. Peras Station 1. The oldest of the starbases littered throughout Coalition territory that sat at the outer edge of the Peras star system. As such, the station contained far more luxuries than other bases, many of which were strictly for ship maintenance. She impatiently checked the time on her roster screen as she waited by the docking platform, the only entrance to the ship, and gazed up through the see-through ceiling of the hall to watch as other ships docked and left the station. Even if she was not used to the stars here, she could not help but marvel at the beauty of it all. With a sigh, Irrin placed his glass down and glanced at the other uniformed Coalition officers around the Officer's Club. All but him wore uniform designating them to the Corps whereas his black coat and altered insignia marked him as a member of Coalition Intelligence. Thankfully, the lot around him did not recognize his face. These days he kept to himself as any who heard his name would immediate make the connection to the infamous Elanus Incident and resort to mockery or violence against him. It was easier to stay away from everyone else. Irrin checked the time. Two hours before he needed to board the Ouranos. He waited at the club, purposefully doing his best to kill time just to ensure he would be the last to board the vessel. He ordered another drink. The best thing about being in a member of the Coalition was that there was no currency. Trade routes had been established but currency, along with the greed it brought, had been abolished long ago. His eyes went towards the closed off area across the floor where colorful flashing lights could just barely be seen from under the cracks of wide double doors. Luck's Den, was the only place in all the starbases across Coalition territory where one could gamble. "Gamble" being a loose term considering the currency employed in its many games were useful only within the confines of the establishment. Outside, the tokens used had no value. Irrin rolled his eyes as a drunken ensign was dragged out by Coalition security. "Should've stayed on the upper levels, kid." Irrin muttered as he took a swig of his drink. "I hear the art displays and shops are so much better for your health."

"Relax! I was just passing through when you lot just jumped me. I don't know who this Russel fellow is but I would appreciate it if you would stop pushing me around." Roric narrowed his piercing blue eyes at the two who shoved him forward. He should have known bandits and thugs still roamed these parts. If he hadn't been so distracted looking for herbs to forage he would have seen them coming but the more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. He sighed out, knowing there was no point now in thinking about the past. He was here now and had to figure out some method of escape. Or he would have to hope some travelers would cross their path and come to his aid. He chuckled under his breath at the thought. "Did you two ever hear the one about the Man from Varewyn? See, the man from Varewyn was a very short tempered man. Every day, a young woman pesters this man for money. Every day he gives her one gold coin. The woman thinks to herself, hm, would it not be better just to steal from this man and have it all to myself? And so she knocks the man over his head and breaks into his home. She finds his chest where he keeps his gold and upon gripping the latch, she falls over. Dead! You see, the man from Varewyn was a very paranoid man. He made sure to lace everything he had of value with a poison to which only he was immune. Honestly... It's not a very funny story but it does teache one to beware of the unassuming." Rorric turned away, smirking, and allowing himself to be led forward by the two brutes.

Rhett watched as Valister landed softly behind him. If only he could land so gracefully as well. Rhett started to walk forward slowly, finding that the pain that once coursed through his body was not as intense as it was when he first arrived. A benefit of being a werewolf. "This way. There's a safe house. We should hurry." He said this not because he was afraid of whatever could be following them but because he knew keeping Ash waiting was more unwise than getting caught by those who hunted them. As his pace picked up, Rhett finding some small comfort in his gait, he spoke once more. "How old are you anyways? Usually young vamps would love to get their hands on a weakened werewolf." Soon he broke into a jog, leading the vampire onward. Once more, Rhett sped up knowing that Valister would be more than capable of keeping up with him. The pain remained in his legs but even as his wounds reminded him of his limitations, it felt good to push forward anyways. Soon, they neared the address which had been texted to him. Rhett slowed down. They had arrived. Even as the tiniest amount of relief came upon the werewolf, he could not help but feel guilty leaving Brianne by herself. And just as soon as relief came so did worry. He could only wonder what she had got herself into. Cináed nodded grimly as Titania gave him his orders. "I understand, my Queen. When the Morrigan and the warlock are brought before you, everything will be set right." Cináed bowed his head and motioned for the five other knights to follow after him as he began his trek out of the Seelie Court. The group was met with nervous glances and suspicious eyes falling on them from their own kind. The other fairies knew what this display of force meant. The moment the six knights exited the Court and stepped into the fresh grounds of Central Park, they cast glamours over themselves to hide from the sight of the mundanes. Even at this hour where darkness had begun to fall, they still had to be careful not to bring unwanted attention to themselves even if it would not matter an hour later. With what he knew, finding the two he was charged with bringing in would be simple enough. The fairy had his methods that the others knew not. They would have never stood by him had they known the truth. His eyes were cast on those who marched behind him while his thoughts went towards Ash and Morrigan. No doubt they would have surrounded themselves with others by now. Cin looked onward to the path before him. There will be death.

"It's not really an interesting story. I helped the Lightwood girl a few years back. I've assisted her several times since and there is not much to say on the matter." His thoughts turned towards what Morrigan had said about twins and what power they could hold. He was only thankful that he had never been born alongside another. Killing a twin would have likely left a deeper scar than it would have when he ended the lives of- He heard the entrance door open and close shut. Ash ignored it at first knowing the arrival of just one other was not what he had been waiting for. She spoke weakly towards them, her blade drawn. Ash raised an eyebrow as he glanced the nephilim's way before returning his gaze towards Morrigan with an almost amused look in his eyes. "Relax." He barely had time to get the word out when another opening and shutting of the door was heard and yet another nephilim walked through the door. This time it was a male. Two scrawny younglings had arrived. If that had been all who would come he would have been more than a little disappointed. Deciding against introducing himself and Morrigan, Ash folded his arms and turned towards the hall where all these newcomers were coming from. "You two should have a seat. We may be waiting for others to arrive for some time." Ash leaned against the wall, his black eyes observing the two nephilim before them. To him, it was entirely obvious what the two children were. Their skin showed no signs of vampirism, they were not as unkempt as a werewolf, they bore no warlock marks, and they were obviously no fairies. Being a nephilim was the only thing they could have been. Albeit...it was strange that they were here at all. He had only expected Downworlders to arrive, with the exception of one shadowhunter. A shadowhunter that was neither of the young ones before him.
Considering how two videos I posted are no longer showing, I thought I'd put the full Uncovered trailer... Complete with car transforming action. So why aren't we talking more about the airship? Granted...we've seen only five seconds of it. Still, aircar.
2012. The same time Tabata was brought on. ...Guess that doesn't really address anything else you're saying though. It is pretty weird that we're getting an anime and a movie but they look good so far. I agree that getting Breaking Bad and Games of Thrones actors is an odd choice considering they'll only be there for the movie. Would have been better to just keep the same VAs from the game. It's not like star power would do anything to sell more units at this rate. Anyway... After three XIII games(LR was so bad I stopped playing at the final boss and watched the ending on youtube), XV feels like a breath of fresh air so far from everything I've seen and played. Kind of like a pallet cleanser. Bring on the bromance.
Rhett raised an eyebrow when the vampire expressed...something towards his wounded state. He wondered if it was genuine concern. Rhett reached out towards the vampire as he started towards the door. "Wait up. There's someone out there. I think it's safe to assume it's someone who wouldn't appreciate two Downworlders hanging around in an Institute." The werewolf looked back at the window and sighed. It was either risk getting caught by whoever it was who had shown up or just endure the pain of a jump out the window. At least he knew what to expect with the jump. He pushed the window open and peeked his head out, taking in a breath of fresh air. The sky had already begun to grow dark as night began to fall. "I appreciate the concern but I can handle a little fall." Just then, his phone buzzed. Pulling his head from the outside and back indoors he drew his phone out of his pocket and stared at the message that Ash had sent him. "Hey...Valister, our kind is being hunted. I bet the one who showed up is here to wrangle us along with any people we know. Apparently there's a safe house we can go to for the time being. I can lead the way if you want to go." Taking a deep breath and knowing it would do nothing to make him feel better, Rhett hopped out of the window and to the hard concrete below. Even with a roll to soften the landing it still hurt albeit not as badly as he thought it would. After a moment's thought, he figured it wasn't actually a good idea to make that kind of jump given he had a very sharp hatchet hidden in his coat. He looked towards the window, wondering if the elder vampire would follow. ~ Ash wandered about the house, nodding in agreement with Morrigan's comment. "It belongs to Alarick. The twin of the Lightwood girl you met, Brianne. I did not expect this to be so..." He walked towards Morrigan and eyed the picture of Alicante the she gazed upon before finishing his sentence with, "homey." He crossed his arms and sighed out. "Nothing to do but wait for others to show up." Cin had just finished polishing and sharpening his claymore when a fellow knight intruded on him. He had hoped there would be more time before he would be called for. With how perceptive the Queen was and with her spies at every corner, he knew it was a foolish hope. Slowly rising to his feet, Cináed sheathed the large blade on his back and rested his hand on his basket-hilt sword at his side. "Then the Queen has lost her patience with Morrigan and the warlock?" A silent gaze from the knight sent to fetch him was the only reply he received. Nodding slowly, he followed the knight to his Queen knowing better than to keep Titania waiting. No matter how things went, by the end of this night there would be bloodshed. Those who would stand in his way would die. There was no way around this. It would happen. As he arrived to Titania's throne he could spot the faces of five other knights awaiting him before the Queen. Between the six of them there was over two thousand years of experience in combat. He regretted that it had to come to this. Just half of their number would have been too many to dispatch but with six total knights hunting Ash and Morrigan...it was complete overkill. Cin took a moment to bow before his Queen and lowered his head respectfully. "Your orders, Queen Titania?" He spoke with a calm reverence as his gaze rose to meet the Seelie Queen.

Spoiler 1894 By the time Ash and his comrade had arrived the battle had already been lost by the nephilim as they could not withstand the might of the demon's power nor that of the warlock who stood beside him. Another brother spawned by Ash's father some decades ago. The remaining nephilim who survived bore boils and severe burns left by the demon who had been content to watch them die in agony. A chill ran up along Ash's spin as he stared at the demon. Fear. It kept him from moving any closer. There was no need as the demon turned its head to face Ash and his Lieutenant, its eyes empty holes of pure darkness that held some kind of fearsome confidence. It was as if the demon had always known it would come to this and none possessed the power to stop it. The demon now stood before Ash. He had not blinked and yet the demon had closed the distance between them without appearing to move at all. The demon's attention towards Ash's ally and, without a word, the Lieutenant fell to his knees and began to writhe in pain due to some invisible force torturing the man. It was then that the demon Ash called "father" explained his plan. He had been behind everything, starting with the mysterious disease that killed off an entire village and pinned it on vampires knowing that Ash's beloved would face execution. The demon wanted him to seek revenge against Shadowhunters to become stronger. In the end he was supposed to face Blight and lose to him. Ash was only ever born to be fodder for the demon's favorite child. A mere training exercise. "Yes. Several Downworlders. They are growing desperate and showing their worst side. Old habits die hard I suppose." Ash clasped his hands behind him as he walked forward, leading Morrigan towards the safehouse. Only a small part of him considered it to be a trap. It was worth the risk however. "There's a safehouse not far from here. And-" He closed his mouth to cut himself off from speaking any further. "Never mind." He had been about to give her an order to keep quiet and allow him to do the talking. It was what he would have done if Rhett was traveling with him but with the level of trust he knew he had to place in Morrigan it would have been wrong to do so. "I...was never fond of the city." He spoke after a moment of silence, in a meager attempt to make small talk with Morrigan. "Not enough green nor enough water. During my travels I grew fond of the sea. Captaining my own ship was a one of my better memories." His eyes kept watch over the changing addresses as they walked, nearing their destination. His shadow departed them to scout ahead on the off chance that the meeting was not just a setup to get Downworlders gathered under one roof. He trusted Clary but that did not mean another could not have been using her. His shadow took longer than it should have in returning as if it had been doing something else. By the time it returned the two had already come up to a nonassuming...townhouse. It looked quite quaint, cozy even, and in better condition than the others by the blocks they had just passed. Ash did not bother to knock on the door, knowing no one to be inside, and opened it slowly. He peered beyond the doorway and, convinced all was safe, motioned for Morrigan to walk through. "After you."

Spoiler 1894 His lieutenant was still in disbelief over him having a sibling in the first place but that was not the only surprise the warlock had for him. "The one--that warlock--who worked alongside with the former Shadowhunter I killed was the one who found and trained me after I took my name. His methods were far more brutal than even the ones who raised me. It seems my family has only ever been good at one thing. Teaching death." "Family? You can't really mean-" "Yes. That warlock was my elder brother. Blight. I placed my trust in him simply because we shared the same demon. It was a mistake." He took up his sword with his Lieutenant following suit and gripping his basket-hilt blade. "No doubt the nephilim are hunting my father as we speak." Ash eyed his companion's sword. "You do not need to risk yourself. This is a personal vendetta. It would do no good if both of us were killed." "After all we've been through? How much blood has been spilled between us? How many of my kind continue to draw breath thanks to our work? No, if it is personal for you it is the same for me." The man gripped Ash's shoulder, looking him hard in the eye. "I saved your life once and you have repaid that debt a thousand times over. We fight and die together, brother." "Stubborn as always, I see. Fine. Just remember, everything that demon touches must die. No exceptions." A part of him felt relieved with Morrigan's words about fate. To the young defying fate was all they ever thought about but, to him, fate served a greater purpose. One might say that seeing so many lives lost to the void would have turned him into someone who cared little for life but, the opposite was true. Life is precious but death is inevitable. If death had to be dealt it had to serve some purpose. Always. Even if it was not immediately apparent, even if none ever knew of it, something had to come of it and maintaining that balance was a delicate matter that even with all his experience he had not mastered. Ash's thoughts were dismissed as the fairy spoke once more. "The Queen spying on us does not concern me. If we are successful, no knowledge she has will stop us." What he did not say to her was that, if there was interference, he would cut down any who threatened them. "You are not traveling alone." He walked over towards Morrigan and looked her from head to toe but did not make a comment on her new outfit. It was certainly a far cry from the delicate black dress she had once worn. Her new clothes would at least fair better when they got into trouble. "I already know my weaknesses. I've learned that another using it against me only makes matters worse for them." His phone buzzed breaking the atmosphere. Raising an eyebrow in curiosity as he checked it he skimmed through the text that had been sent. He had half expected it to be Rhett who sent the message but, instead, it was...Clary. Taking a moment to forward the message to Rhett to ensure that the young wolf was in no trouble, Ash glanced over at Morrigan. "Change of plans. We're not going to the Institute." He would go if Rhett did not respond soon but keeping Morrigan out of the way of a Shadowhunter base was nonnegotiable. He handed her the vial, the final one, containing her medicine before heading towards the door. "Apparently the Clave believes it to be a good idea to hunt down several Downworlders. We're in no danger but everyone we will need will be elsewhere." Black eyes fell on the name of the ifrit who had sent him the message as Ash wondered if he should take the time to explain to Morrigan who it was. He opened the door. It would have to wait.
One shower and a quick change of clothes later, Ash stared at the bloody blue coat he had usually worn. It would be cleaned later as there was no time to go about doing laundry when time was short. "I suppose the nephilim could be persuaded to join us on our journey. Preventing the Seelie Queen from sending her knights into the streets with the intent of violence would be a cause that is worthy of their attention." Walking over towards the fireplace he ran his fingers through his still damp hair causing steam to rise as his heated hand touched water. Hair dry, he walked towards the same trapdoor where he had retrieved Morrigan's sword from. Ash stepped away from it after thinking it over from a moment and deciding he would not need a weapon to bring with him on their trip. His magic was more than sufficient for self-defense. Instead, he took a vial from the nearby counter and examined its contents. A dark green liquid, almost pitch black, filled the container. This one was stronger than the other doses of medicine he had given Morrigan. It was to be her last dose. "If you had not changed your mind, this would be the only thing keeping you from running away from all your troubles." He stated, turning the vial over as its contents sloshed about. "Just imagine how differently things could have turned out if I had been fully prepared to cure your affliction." And, in truth, he was glad he had not been. Taking this time to become familiar with the fairy had easily been one of the few good moments in his life. "Once you are ready we can depart and, regardless if we find any willing to travel with us, we will be out of this city before the next sunrise." One way or another, they would find the Great Queen and set things right.
Just as Rhett had been believing it to be a good time with Brianne she yanked on his arm before he could utter a word. It hurt, physically, being dragged so suddenly and as he had begun to wonder what caused her to react so he could hear the sound of the front entrance opening in the distance. The scent of blood game to his nose as Brianne drew another rune, similar to the one he had seen create the barrier, as she led him into a room that contained the unmistakable presence of a vampire. Pale skin, the faint aroma of death, broody eyes...it almost reminded him of Ash. Apparently the name of this one was Valister. Odd name. Not that Rhett was any normal-er. "Uh...hi?" He spoke to the vampire unsure of what to think. Turning in the direction where Brianne had hurried off to, Rhett frowned wishing he could have said more to her. She had made an effort to keep himself and the vampire out of sight so it must have meant danger for him...or something equally unpleasant if he were to go against whatever she had been thinking. "I...guess it would be better to leave. I've got other plans and I can't hop from one fight to another like this..." Rhett did not know why he said this aloud as surely the vampire would not care. While Rhett made it a habit to tread carefully around the members of the undead, he did not share the same ill-will towards them as the rest of his kind. It didn't make any sense for him to feel that way so he simply chose not to. In any case, Brianne had told them to go and he had little choice but to obey. Tempting fate when he did not have to seemed like a silly thing to do. On the other hand... "This jump looks high." His amber eyes stared down out through the window, their only exit aside from heading back through the front entrance. "I don't know if you want to stay but..." Rhett glanced at Valister. "If you're jumping too, you can go first. Age before ...not...age."

Rhett stared at the sky as the sun disappeared on the skyline leaving rays of orange and pink in its wake. "A fair trial? Hm...Okay." He leaned back against the steps, not entirely satisfied with Hendrick's nor Brianne's response. It would have to do though. He wanted Masque dead for the displays he had made out of corpses. It was the same kind of feeling that rose up when he found Keller. Making the effort to shoot the alpha in the back had been the right move if it meant keeping the man from killing more people. Though perhaps that was the leftover adrenaline talking from his fight...or the medicines Ash must have placed in his body working through his veins. "The only thing I've eaten is fur and werewolf chunks. Not very filling to be honest." Strangely, saying that out loud did not make his stomach churn. He took Brianne's hand, mumbling a thank you, and stood up with her help. With a grunt he was on his feet. Rhett looked at the rune the nephilim had drawn and smiled a bit knowing she had been the cause of his nose pain earlier. "It's the first time a woman has ever invited me to dinner. Maybe I'll leave your special voicemail a thank you note for rescuing my stomach from eating me." Now that he thought about it, he wondered how Shadowhunters got their food. Did they ever order pizza to deliver to the Institute? Did they have a magic fridge? Ash didn't have a magic fridge. Rhett wanted a magic fridge now. Now. "Let's eat. I'm hungry like my wolf."

It took a little more effort than Rhett would have ever admitted towards Brianne to sit down on the steps beside the nephilim. Glad she did not find him strange for being so eager to thank her, the wolf relaxed and breathed out slowly. "Calling would not have been enough. Hey, can I speak to the one who saved me? Yes? Hi Brianne, thanks for risking becoming a chew toy for me. Bye." As he spoke he lifted his hand to mimic picking up a telephone and as he finished he "hung it up". He smirked. "Don't worry about me. I can handle some bites and scratches. Keller's bark is worse than his bite anyways." No, that was not true at all. Of all the alphas he had encountered during his business with Ash, by far that man was the most intimidating he had ever met. Rhett scratched the back of his head, looked down at the stone beneath them. Brianne's words reminded him of the charge Ash had given him and the weight of the hatchet sitting within the inner pocket of his coat. "Speaking about taking on an alpha-" Hendrick's voice cut him off before he could ask for Brianne's advice. He looked up at the man and turned his body, tilting his head as he examined the Shadowhunter's new set of wounds. "Vamps? Looks like it. Before I started working with Ash, I used to run into all sorts of trouble with them. The really scary ones are those ancient clan leaders." He looked from Hendrick to Brianne quickly. "But...I guess you know that already." Remembering something else, Rhett's eyes hovered over Hendrick once more. "You left awfully quick after we found Masque's hideout. Ash and I had to deliver heads to their families. He did most of the work but seeing the looks on their faces..." Rhett sighed and shook his head. "If you guys catch that bastard you better put him away. Forever." Crossing his arms the werewolf hunched over and turned away from Hendrick, glancing over in Brianne's direction for an instant. "I can only imagine how many others he's butchered for the sake of his art."
