"Good to see you too, Admiral." Simon said despite not turning to face Dania when she entered the room. Instead, Simon moved closer to Keith as he placed the scanner back in his kit and whispered to the child, "Sorry about all the scans, kid. Don't worry, they're harmless." Of course, the small boy responded in kind with his total understanding of Simon's words by making that popping sound with his lips that April had mentioned earlier. "Attaboy." Simon smirked and slowly rose back to his feet and stretched his back before bending to pick up his case. He took a quick glance over at April who, from what he could tell, seemed to take his words to heart. "Suppose it's time I get going." Simon turned to leave allowing the two women to discuss business, and cuddle a baby, by themselves. Simon began to head to the infirmary to drop off the medkit and as he did so he began to wonder where Emma was at the moment. Since he had crossed paths with Dania that meant that the meeting was over. Perhaps Emma was busy or she had already went to visit him, either way he wanted to make the most of his time off. Once he neared the infirmary he stopped upon getting a direct message on the comm system from his father. "Find the time to get to the navigational sensors. We're to need to make sure whether or not the planet we're passing by has any life signs." "What? Can't any engineer do that though?" "The calibrations needed require medical expertise." "Sure. I'll get onto it later. Shouldn't take me more than an hour or two." The sound of the transmission being cut came to his ears. "Uh...bye to you too." Simon rolled his eyes and shook his head as he entered the infirmary, nearly running headfirst into Kathi. Just beyond, sitting up, was John in one of the beds. From the looks of it he had just walked into some kind of serious conversation but that was not what concerned him. "What happened here?" Simon spoke as he moved past Kathi to get a better look at John.
I'll take +5BP. Maximum dps build starts now.
Alder landed with a loud thud as he crashed into the ground on his back, his keyblade slipping out of his grip and vanishing into shards of light as it hit the earth beside him. Being on guard did nothing to protect him from the blast even though he knew something like this would happen. Of course Ria would have access to powerful magic and must have been waiting for them to all converge in an attempt to take out the entire group in one shot. The majority of them were struck and four of them looked to be on the verge of unconsciousness. The Prince included. Seeing Relli hurt like that sparked another surge of anger within Alder causing him to roll to his stomach and push himself back to his feet. "Gah..." He felt the ache down to his bones finding it difficult to force his body to respond to his mind's commands. Everything stung and getting around was not going to be easy but he didn't care. He was going to make Ria pay for this. Alder looked around him seeing even Marley, the same person who had just fought by his side and further healed his previous injuries had fallen once more. His hand began to tremble while it started to ball into a fist, his keyblade rematerializing back in his grip. "Have a taste of your own medicine!" Alder aimed the tip of his keyblade ready summon forth a Fire spell. The spell launched from his blade and rushed towards Ria leaving a trail of black smoke in its wake. Alder then turned to look at both Relli and his comrade, Marley, knowing it would be better if they were in fighting condition. Mustering up the strength to lift his keyblade once more in spite of the attrition they were faced with he called upon whatever reserves of magic he had left to heal the two. Don't make this a habit. He thought to himself, glancing at Marley as the Cure spell glowed over the fellow keyblader. "Wake up, Prince. It's not nap time yet..." He spoke through his heavy breaths hunching over slightly while he gathered strength to rejoin the battle in a more physical manner. Maybe...if Ria was showing this much power they were getting desperate because they knew the tides were turning. If they could just keep the assault up for a little longer they could win this...just a little longer... Total Words: 409 BP Spent: 20 HP Healed For Relli and Marley: 5 Damage Dealt: 10
Alder was hit by the pathetic form of resistance Ria offered, surprising him with how weak the retaliation was though he refused to drop his guard thinking that someone who could manipulate so many heartless like this would never be this weak. Maybe Ria just wanted him to lower his guard...maybe this wielder was physically weak but far stronger with magic. A magical buffer of some kind would have explained how they were able to withstand so many hits...or perhaps Ria was just hiding their true strength for when the situation called for it. Either way, Alder was not going to just cut loose and make himself easy prey for their enemy. Luckily, some more of his strength was restored when Marley returned the favor and healed them further before Ria had struck at them with what could barely be called a slash from the broken keyblade Ria wielded. In the distance, he could vaguely hear someone yelling over the sounds of battle. Alder could only catch the word "dog" and immediately knew who had called him out. "More fighting, less whining, Cabbage-boy!" He called back, not giving a damn if Cerdic heard him or not. As Alder spoke up he heard the sound of his own words but they were not the ones he had shouted but rather, ones that echoed in his mind like a distant memory taken out of context. It was not nothing but it was difficult to find meaning when he was still tensed and ready to take another cut at Ria at any instant. Alder shook his head, trying to push the thought away and eyed Marley whose posture changed as he readied to attack. First came a downward swing. Then an upward. Followed by a wide arcing horizontal slash with both hands. Just as Marley finished his combo strike Alder spun his keyblade in his left hand and lunged forward once more to open up with an upward diagonal cut before following through, using the blade's momentum to bring the keyblade around to make a downward diagonal slash from the other side down onto Ria. From there, Alder dropped his keyblade knowing he could just summon it back later and stepped closer to smash his armored fist into Ria's torso wanting the satisfaction of hitting the jerk with his own hand. "How do you like that!?" Alder smirked as he jumped back, resummoning his weapon into his hand and pointing it at Ria. Total Words: 410 BP Spent: 20 Damage Dealt: 20
Simon crouched down beside the young baby and smirked as its mother gave him a brief rundown over Keith's little ticks with the very obvious hint of worry in her voice. He placed a hand on one of the bars of the crib and as he kept his eyes on the child Simon spoke towards April. "How have you been? Haven't been feeling any unusual pains since the birth?" He set down the medical case and unlocked it to retrieve a scanner to take a brief examination of Kieth. As expected, the child was a beacon of perfect health but he continued the scan, deleting the results from the previous log to begin again to look busy. "It's fine for children this young to have an irregular sleep schedule. He's probably just getting used to flexing those muscles. As for the popping noise he makes? It's probably because your son isn't human." Simon chuckled then, realizing that April just might take him seriously he quickly added, "nah. He's got a strong human heart. Just like his mother." Simon eyed the scanner and scratched his chin. Though it would have been nice to add onto the vaccinations the child had but given his age it was still too early to give him any other doses. Running his fourth scan, and again getting the same results as before, Simon glanced over briefly at April. She had been a friend of his father's for a long time and while he could tell that his father was worried about her recent well-being given what happened to her husband, his father just did not have the time to spare to constantly check up on April. "Some fresh ship air outside this room might do him some good. Maybe on the next habitable planet we stop by, if I can guarantee its safety for your son, you should take him to feel the light of a sun." He was on his seventh scan now. "It could do you some good too. Healthy mommy. Healthy baby." Scan numero ocho. "Children, even ones just as young Kieth here, can be quite perceptive you know. His cortisol levels, aka the "stress hormone", are just a touch above average. That can be a good thing. Over time that just means it'll help him adapt to new and potentially unnerving situations but if it gets out of control at such a young age, well that could have side effects damaging his psyche later on." Ten scans and going. Simon's tone softened up as he continued to speak. "It's really nothing to fret about so don't go all doom and gloom on me despite how scary it may seem. Emma and I had some pretty tough childhoods of our own and we turned out just fine." Simon laughed quietly to himself as he paused for a moment. Three dead parents between them yet the morbidity of it all just...never bothered him. "But every little bit that you can make easier on yourself means making your son's life easier as well. I mean, you don't have to go out and be the social butterfly you were always meant to be but taking a stroll with your son would help him familiarize himself with more than just your quarters."
Damn 3 in one day?

Cut off from the others it had been just Alder and Marley to make it through to Ria though the latter had been knocked unconscious by the swarm of heartless that attacked just as they arrived. Alder held on but just barely, staggering forth as he used his keyblade as a crutch panting as his eyes narrowed on their attacker. "Coward!" Alder growled through gritted teeth as he stepped forward, ripping his keyblade from the ground and stumbled forward as he tried to hold his balance despite the pain of the cuts that had dug deep into his legs. As much as he wished to hold on to concepts of honor and valor in battle this coward obviously no value in such ideals and no amount of acting tough would change the odds to his favor. Charging headfirst in his current state against someone who had barely been injured was a foolish idea that would only cost them the battle. There weren't many options at the moment. Alder's eyes shifted towards Marley once more before returning his gaze back to keep track of the stranger. Maybe once they knocked him out they could get answers but until then he needed to play it smart. "If I can't force you to fight fair then I'll just even the odds." Alder lifted his keyblade to the sky and an instant later a green spark of light sprouted from the tip of his weapon bathing him and Marley in a healing aura to restore their strength...at least somewhat. There. At least it would be two against one(and the horde of Shadows that surrounded them). This time Alder gripped his keyblade in both hands as he adjusted his stance to keep the tip of the keyblade pointed at Ria. They still had no idea how skilled this wielder was with his own weapon but now was as good as time as any to find out just what this person was made out of. Maybe literally. "I'll go in first, try to circle around to get at his back." He whispered towards Marley. An honorable tactic? Not really. But neither was pitting ten against hundreds of Heartless. Without any warning Alder lunged forward to make a stab at Ria's center of mass before quickly stepping to the side to keep just barely within blade's distance of his opponent. "You're fighting a losing battle. Maybe you should consider giving up." Alder spoke bluntly towards the stranger before stepping in again to make a swift cut towards Ria's right arm. The fact that they're considering to have magic and materia be separate actions seems like a good thing to me. Obviously the UI is just a placeholder but still. These images look pretty at least.
Alder refused to allow Ria to force him back by cowering behind his horde. The others fired magic and even another tried following him into the thick of it but it would not be enough. Something about Ria set him off. It drove him to go against his own advice and break away from the group and even as he pushed forward through the Shadows, pushing away thoughts of doubt, even he had to admit that something was wrong here. It was more than just being cornered, insulted, and threatened by a stranger that made him lose his cool. All those years of training and learning not rush headfirst into trouble without a plan went out the window and even as he knew this might be the wrong move he pushed onward regardless of whatever pain he would suffer. Even as the distance between himself and Relli increased he continued. Perhaps Ria reminded of someone back home or perhaps in his erased memories the answer was hidden but no matter the reason, Alder was angry and he was not going to stop until he reached Ria. He ducked and weaved knowing that with each swing of his keyblade only meant a dip in his strength and another instant wasted on fighting pawns when Ria was the king(or queen) in the little game. The crowd of Heartless he was driving past became denser and it was becoming nearly impossible to move an inch without taking another swing. A flick of the blade and he caught two Shadows at once before whirling the keyblade back at his side and catching a third in the back swing. That blast of ice the other wielder had fired only made Ria more defensive rather than doing their enemy any serious harm. A Shadow jumped him but he simply knocked it aside out of the air with his armored arm, not suffering any harm but not destroying it either. He cursed under his breath knowing that there might not be anymore easy openings made by Ria. "You can't hide forever!" Alder called out as he leapt over a shadow that had went to claw at his legs and as he came down to the earth he spun and smashed his keyblade into the ground, missing the Heartless but destroying one from the spike of rock that suddenly jutted out of the ground that followed from his attack. Alder pressed on, continuing to close in on Ria. Words: 410 BP Spent: 20 Heartless Killed: 4 Heartless Remaining: 162

Simon ran a hand through his messy hair though not in an attempt to tame it as that had proven to be near impossible. He shut off the screen he had been viewing and rubbed his eyes feeling that they had grown fatigued from his search through the Resilient's database for any information on the Everlasting. There was so much useless information that it was difficult to sort through it all and, from what he knew, hard copies of some of the data existed that contained information not found on the computers. Where it was though...he had no idea. He looked over from his office to see John who Simon had already finished treating and was allowing to rest while a nurse gave his vitals another check to make sure he was not reacting badly to any of the treatments he had received. All seemed to be well so far. Simon rose from his chair and stretched out, pressing his hands to his back until he heard a satisfying pop. "Ah...better." He rolled his shoulders and headed out to the room. "How's our patient doing?" "If all goes as planned then he'll be fully recovered in under 48 hours." The young man spoke to Simon. It was a strange feeling to think that it had only been a few years ago when he had begun his own official medical training but he had learned so much faster than his peers expected him to that the elder doctor who had once held the position Simon had now was more than just a little upset when Simon became a doctor himself. His rapid promotion to being in charge of the infirmary had only been due to the death of his own mentor leaving the continuing training of the younger medical staff up to him. ...Admittedly, Simon knew he had much to learn given the limited time he had been given to gain experience but at least he was a quick study. "Well, if you wish to rest," Simon directed to John. "You're free to sleep here. I believe your quarters might be ready by now though. In any case, you're well enough to leave the medbay and if you want a guided tour through the ship, feel free to have my nurse here arrange for one." Simon continued to speak as he knelt over to gather several of his instruments and began placing them in a medkit in preparation for a little "house call". "And if you need me, just call me over the comm system. I just need to step out to take care of something so...feel free to do use your free time." With nothing else to add Simon stepped out of the infirmary and headed down the corridor with the medkit in hand. He knew he was missing an important meeting but his duties as doctor came first above all else and he knew Emma(or his father) would tell him of the ship's next plans soon enough anyway. After walking the short distance Simon stopped in front of the room door belonging to one Miss Braxter...and Little Braxter. Simon knocked on the door lightly and stood by waiting for April to open up. "It's Simon. Just dropping by to give your son a quick checkup if you don't mind."
Never heard of these figures but they look really nice and...kinda superior to Pop figures. Hell, KH is getting better treatment from these guys and Pop considering there's an actual Sora figure here instead of only the main Disney trio.
"Good work, Prince!" Was it wrong to feel some sense of pride upon seeing Relli being capable enough to take care of their own self? Perhaps it was due to the fact that there were two of them from the same world in this group and the better they did, the better they could represent their home...for how ever much that was worth. The positive emotion was immediately washed away when he caught sight of the shadows beginning to swarm and group together. "Watch out!" Alder shouted at Reili just before the swarm charged at them. Underestimating the combined strength of the swarm he held out his keyblade in effort to cleave a path through only to find that his blade missed its mark when something strange happened forcing the wave of Heartless to break formation and rain on them. Claws found their way digging into his unarmored arm and side while he was knocked over by the impact. "Gah! Damn!" Needless to say, it stung. Alder pushed himself quickly back onto his feet taking a swing as he recovered his balance to destroy a shadow that tried to take another swipe at him while he was getting back up. His eyes narrowed on Ria who must have been the one to organize this attack as it seemed reasonable enough that if Ria was the one who summoned them then--Alder raised an eyebrow as a flicker in the air around Ria caught his eye. A batch of shadows backed away to surround Ria. Of course. Alder tightened his grip on his keyblade as he charged forth to make a beeline for Ria. It was starting to look like a losing battle if they did not end it soon but no matter how badly he wanted to put this stranger in their place that did not change the fact that numbers were still not on his side. Before he could make his way directly to Ria the gaps made by the swarm had closed in leaving no path to their enemy. "You can't hide for long, coward!" Alder growled through gritted teeth as he spun his keyblade from his left hand and into his right striking two more shadows in the process. Even if he was wrong and taking Ria head on did not put an end to the horde that surrounded them, or at least keep the shadows from organizing again, deep down Alder just wanted to make Ria pay. As he struck down another heartless the black cloud left behind from its destruction lingered on his keyblade before fading away. You'll have to try harder to keep us down. That's cool. Now we just need Kingdom Hearts I Cloud to be confirmed to so clod can properly bet sprothe.
My stance on "Word of God" is pretty simple. Whatever Nomura says is the truth of the situation unless game evidence contradicts him. I mean, let's say he told us that Sora and Riku weren't best friends. That'd obviously be false since practically every game shows otherwise and his words can be disregarded. But if he told us tomorrow that Sora and Riku are actually brothers who don't know it we'd have no way of disproving that and I'd accept it as canon despite the obvious fact that they don't look like brothers at all(but crazier things have happened in the series).
BUSHMIESTER. You can thank me for bringing up orange in the first place...many moons ago...
Sure why not.
So ever since the new usergroup was unveiled I've been thinking of what kind of changes might need to be made to keep the relevancy of Premium members without making Contributors (who were normal members) little more than "orange normies". It seems to be pretty much unanimous that "normal" Contributors should not get easy access to the Premium section but, as others have stated, the Premium section sucks to be honest. Here's an excerpt of me giving some suggestions on what could be changed (but keep in mind not all these ideas are good and one might not be feasible at all). Anyway, this thread isn't here to say "IMPLEMENT MY CHANGES DAMMIT" (I already know some of my ideas up there aren't the best) but to open up more discussion in a more public area of the site on what kind of changes people might want to see.
Not exactly a pretty thing. Given that the box art is pretty lazy I'm not surprised.
