The girl not part of the guild responded first, her name was Tessa. It was hard to hear what she had said he had caught on fairly quickly that she was extremely nervous. He put his hands in the pockets of his blue coat and simply listened, showing that he was relaxed to put the girl at ease a bit more. He took in what she was saying apparantly she was a bit like Thea needing help to learn to control her magical powers. He considered staying away from both Thea and Tessa but that would be drastic. He knew when he would have to stay clear with Thea and Tessa clearly wanted to get it all under control. And even more so Tessa had only just arrived, by the looks of it. It would be wrong of him to turn away now. The girls cheeks had gone red, her voice was very soft, but she found some inner strength as she spoke up in a louder voice. "
I haven't been around for too long, but I think you've come to the right place, Tessa, it's nice to meet you" It was then that he caught her smiling at him it was only a small smile, but he couldn't help but smile back at the girl it felt contagious like that. He looked to Alessia and Zephyr awaiting an answer on his initial question.

Before Thea could answer him, he heard Vance exclaiming, he glanced over his shoulder and saw the man coming in fast. "That settles that..." He thought and left Thea and Vance without a word, walking out of the tavern and into the empty streets. It was a beautiful night, the moon hanging low in the skies the odd cloud blocking out a few stars here and there, but other than that the sky was clear with thousands of little points of light. He mae his way through the empty streets his footsteps echoing through them the only other sound being the wind rustling through the trees. The words of a song came to him and he started to sing to himself. It was an attempt to lift his own spirits a little after all that happened that day. "... Will we ever know what the answer to life really is? Can you tell me what life is? Maybe all the things that you know that are precious to you, Could be swept away by Fate's own hand..." He had walked faster than he realised and quickly stopped singing as he walked through the door, only to be greeted by three people standing just inside the Guild Hall, they probably had heard him sing. No matter, he noted that two of them had the mark of the guild, he hadn't seen them around or so he thought nor had he seen the other girl. With the reading in mind it couldn't hurt to get to know some more people. The little alcohol he did have in his veins broke down the walls of his inhibitions just enough for him just to take the step. He walked over to the three. "Good evening ladies and gentleman, I apologise for interrupting, I only recently joined the guild and am still getting to know everyone, my name is Conrad and who might you two be?" He asked already extending his hand for a handshake.

He would die? What did he do to deserve that? He rewinded what had happened prior to the meeting with the witch and what the witch said as well. He took what Florica said into consideration and came to the conclussion it wasn't his own fault but rather Vances actions that brought it to this, there was no other way to explain it. But that meant Vance himself was in danger as well... "
Thank you Florica for making an exception" Conrad said, he yawned only then did it hit him that he was getting pretty tired "I must take my leave, many thanks for warning me of impending danger. If you need a favour let me know" He knew that the nobility traded favours but the common people did as well, he got up, smiled at Florica gave a polite bow and took his leave, on his way out he spotted Thea and one of the ladies of this establishment he went over and looked at Thea "Thea? What are you doing in a place like this? No offense but this isn't really a place for young girls like yourself."

When Florica answered, he was surprised by her answer. He would need to stay clear from Vance on missions? Or just the particular time that witch would show up? There were so many questions that flooded into his mind. Vance was really the only person he had the chance to get more insight in. So abandoning that chap would leave him back at square one again. There was Aoki, but he wasn't sure about her, it seemed fate trying to bar him from getting to know her. Vance was nobility like him, as was Thea. Yet he didn't feel like he belonged with them and all of the others he had run into when it came to it put him in the same box as Vance, he fell in between the two groups and knew he would never truly belong in either of them, facing a cold future, the worry about this crept up on his face, yet he quickly snapped out of it, hoping Florica hadn't seen. "
What happens if I don't stay away from him?" Conrad decided to ask, in an attempt to mask his emotions.

He smiled when Florica replied "That is something I can understand and thank you for your concideration." He said. Then the question came, he thought about it, his mind immediatly flashed back to the aftermath of the contest. That green witch, the one who had cursed Lady Nessa, the one who summoned the magnificent creatures that attacked them. It had to be her, if he had run into any other green skinned people he would remember. Not even the inexplicable dreams of faraway places and the sense of dread that accompanied them, contained any green skinned people. Shadows was all he saw in them and he thanked the Lady for it. He was getting sidetracked again. He then noticed her drawing on a piece of paper and his suspicions had been proven right, it was the witch. "Yes, I'd recognise her anywhere. That is the witch that attacked us. She claimed relation to Lady Nessa, but even she didn't recognise her, so either something very weird is happening or that green-skinned woman is an absolute nutter..."

He nodded in agreement with Florica regarding the inns and shops in country side villages "
It is alright, none offense taken, I can see why you'd think me just an ordinary citizen and I like it that way." He immediatly said as Florica apologised. He listened to Vance speculate and trying to figure out who these people even were. Conrad had figured it out rather quickly, simply because he had read about the Roma people, sure his knowledge was rusty, but it was more than enough to help him figure out, it wasn't like these people were actually trying to conceal their identity. He still listened attentively to take note of the things he couldn't figure out so easily. Like the King of Beggars and the social hierarchy within this group. He had heard about the King of Beggars but thought it was just a myth, turned out he was proven wrong. So Florica was a Seer, interesting. He hadn't seen many of those around, she took note of Florica looking slightly embarresed and what ensued next was very odd, Florica asked him to join her o get another drink. He considered it, could he leave Vance alone? The man could take care of himself, he stood up and followed Florica. Something caught the corner of his eyes, it was Edric. The man grabbed about three drinks and franticly guzzled them down something was clearly wrong, he took note of it and would ask the man later about it, if he wanted to talk about it. He figured Florica wanted to give Shani and Vance some privacy, but he felt there was more to it than that and spoke up: "So I'd say you took me along to give Shani and Vance some alone time, but somehow I feel there's more to it than that, so why did you have me tag along?"

Conrad Heinrich Adelbrecht Carsten von Eisenstein II,

He listened attentively as Vance gave his two cents on travelling the lands "
Like Red and Vance I must say I am not the biggest fan of the Capital, way too many people for my taste. I have had a few experiences on the ocean and while I can understand the attraction of the sea, the peace and quiet and being able to measure yourself against the forces of nature, it isn't really my pick either." He said "I myself feel more at home in the countryside. Little towns and villages or just our Estate. There aren't too many people around and the people that are around tend to be very welcoming and that isn't just because of my status. And as far as traveling goes I haven't been as far out as either of you mainly traveling with my father to Bosco and Joya." Out of the four of them he had been the least well travelled but to him that didn't matter much. His home was here in Fiore and no matter how interesting the other kingdoms were this was his homeland and he wouldn't want to leave it.

Conrad listened to their names and the answer to his own question. "
Certainly you may ask that. We are on invitation of a friend, I can't speak for Vance on this one but I consider him a good man, having a drink in the tavern every now and then isn't a bad idea." He said pointing over towards Edric with the mention of friend. "He is an odd one, sure, but from what I have seen of him he isn't a bad person." He took a moment to consider what to ask next, Florica had mentioned traveling, that seemed like a solid topic for conversation. "So Florica, you mentioned you're here when you're not traveling. Pardon me for jumping to conclusions, but that implies you travel a lot then? Where have you been over the years? And what was your favourite destination?" He asked Florica, then looking towards Red "Of course the question is open for you to answer as well." He took note of how the mentioned Zephyros or Zephyrine, it didn't matter, they clearly knew them for longer than he and Vance did it might be worthwhile to get a better understanding of Zephyros if only it was to tackle possible future problems.

Conrad had been standing next to Edric just prior to a series of events that would result in a fire, an argument and Zephyrine joining the guild in no particular order. It all happened so fast and before he could react everything was resolved. Vance had taken care of the girl before things had gotten out of hand, he made a mental note to be careful around her. He knew how to handle it as displayed by his actions in the fight with the magnificent creature. He felt his pocket to make sure the stone was still there. It was probably worth a fortune, but he wouldn't sell it. It was an artifact that reminded him of his family. His father had gone bonkers when he said he would join a guild. Despite being a more progressive family his father still held a dislike for mages. He wasn't sure if his father had calmed down yet or if he would ever come to terms with his son being a mage. It wasn't like Conrad had an actual choice in it, so how could he be blamed? The debate raged on as he followed Edric to the pub.

It had been a while since he had been in one of them, he saw a table with a few blokes drinking ale, he grabbed a chair and pulled it over sitting down with them, two of them were farmers named Paul and Rob, the third one was a hunter named John. They had been talking about the prospects for the harvest. Conrad listened and joined in on the conversation giving them a round on him as they discussed the countryside, he noted how Vance walked past, John looked at him as he walked past and asked "What's his problem then?" Conrad smiled "Can't find a ladder tall enough to get down from his high horse" Conrad replied and they all laughed. It was then that he noticed the women calling them over. He watched as Vance actually did take them up on the offer. Something wasn't right there, Vance Dorian taking townspeople up on offers. John looked at him "It's been nice meeting you, come find us some other time, but now there is more important business at hand for you, lad." He said with a smile. Conrad nodded and went over the aftermath of their last mission still in his memory. At first glimpse he was able to put away that thought, these two didn't seem to be intent on romancing them but he could have been wrong. "Good evening, Ladies" he said as he joined Vance and the two women, he did take note of the pistol one of them carried, but didn't decide to take the same road to conversation as Vance did. "I am Conrad" He said deeming it unnecessary to ask for their names seeing Vance already did so. "So what brings to a place like this?" He asked the women, directing the question to the one with the circlet in particular.

For him personally the journey back to the Guild was a nice and quiet one, he did however catch what had initially transpired between Thea and Zephyros, he should have intervened and silently cursed himself for not doing so, then Vance stalked past him on his way to Thea. He was going to comfort her, he was certain of it, when he looked back at them and saw Vance hug the girl, he quickly faced back forwards again with a smile on his face. He didn't hear the words that were spoken, but seeing that gesture told him enough. He didn't forget about the first impression he had of Vance and made a mental note to keep an eye on the both of them. For the remainder of the Journey he kept to himself, as thoughts flew through his head, none regarding the outcome of the Contest.

As Cal warped everyone back to the Guild Hall, Conrad had gone inside initially but when he heard the music outside and saw Thea run outside he decided it was better to go and see what it was all about than to just sit around here waiting for something to happen. When he saw Edric standing there watching Zephyrine perform he walked up to the man, he had clearly been drinking, the smell gave it away. He had no objections to a good drink or a nice evening drinking, but wasn't it a little early for that? Oh well who was he to judge. He watched the performance, it wasn't exactly his style, but it wasn't a bad performance. He kept on watching, standing next to the S-class mage.

Conrad smiled, she had been taught well and he took note how she didn't care much for formalities, just like himself. And on top of that they were in the same guild as members so they were equals no title could change that. "
It is alright, Thea. I am not a lord and much like yourself do not care an aweful lot for formalities, when the time calls for them I'll stick to them, but this isn't one such occasion, furthermore we are in the same Guild aren't we? And as far as I am aware there is no difference in rank, we are equals, no amount of titles is going to change that and in my opinion that means formalities are not required, so you may refer to me by my name." He said kindly, only then noticing Mr Dorian was talking to the woman that had summoned these spirits, he merely listened to them going back and forth, Vance clearly wanted answers and made a few wrong assumptions in the process. Thea then joined him placing a few remarks, clearly emotional and the response of the Green one did hardly anything to defuse it, now Nessa also joined in the conversation, following a few odd remarks the witch disappeared and Nessa thanked them for protecting her. "It is improper to leave someone to their fate when they are attacked and the creatures clearly had it out for us anyway." Conrad said

The creature collapsed under their combined efforts. He caught Thea shouting something strange, but thought nothing of it, she just might have been imagining things to focus her powers. His gamble had paid off they had come out of the battle unscathed. The young Thea then curtsied, to him that was unnecesary. He understood the nobility generally had a different opinion than his family did so they tended to play along with it where ever necessary and where not just left it out. "
You are welcome, but truly there is no need to call me sir." He said kindly, he looked at the limp form of the majestic beast and thought it was a shame to let it go to waste. He would make arrangements to have the creature preserved so others could catch atleast a glimpse of the majesty of the beast.

He was so lost in thought about this he was taken by surprise when Thea presented the stone to him. Something had changed about her and then realised it was the circlet that now lay upon her head, it was encrusted with diamonds and looked beautiful. He took the stone and bowed "
Thank you, Thea, is it okay if I call you by your name? I apologise if it is not." He said, he looked at the stone, it was funny, his family always had something with the gifts of the earth, whether they were ores or gemstones and now here it was his turn to continue the tradition. He closed his hand around the stone and looked back at Thea "I couldn't have done it without you." He said sincerely, he honestly doubted he would have gotten away so easily if he had to take it on on it's own.

His encouragement had helped, though calling him sir was completely unnecessary the girl stopped panicking and started to focus her powers more. They seemed to do a good bit of damage upon the creature seemingly without retaliation, something was way off. He took a good look at the beast and a shimmering barrier. He was reminded of a beautiful song that for some reason he really enjoyed, not that it helped at all. There was something in between them and the beast, but what did it do? There had to be a right choice here somewhere... He lacked the information to make the right choice and instead made a gamble. He pulled his arm backwards, his hand still clutching his blade, tip pointed at the beast then made an underspin sending forth the wind on the creature hoping it was the right choice. "You're doing great, Thea, keep it up!" He shouted as encouragement over the sounds of battle.

It turned out no one had picked the right casket and they were all asked to leave, that's when the chanting began, Zephyros and Nessa blamed each other for it and Vance decided to play hero. Thea was more sensible in concluding it wasn't Nessa, he also knew it wasn't a curse, reaching the same conclusion as Aisa that it was a summoning. While the chanting was nowhere near similar it reminded him of years ago, something he had put off as a dream. It started with chanting and then a very confusing story told by the summoned narrator switching viewpoints without making evidently clear who was speaking at what point. What he was certain about was that there was regicide involved, but that was just a dream and this on the other hand was real.

It was then that the beasts came forth, the beasts were linked to the casket that had been chosen, he looked at the beast of the diamond casket, he had to admit it looked absolutely magnificent. When he realised this he looked towards Thea the girl was absolutely terrified she wasn't doing well at all. Why was the beast attacking Thea anyways? She had nothing to do with the competition sure she had made her own choice of the diamond casket but she never entered the contest. "
Thea. Try and stay calm and trust in your abilities! I need your help on this one, do you think you can manage that?" Conrad asked her as he drew his blade. "May fire purify your soul...." He mumbled as he charged.

So part of their group was leaving and all who remained were, Vance and himself. It turned out that Lady Nessa was a bit racist, not really something he liked. He gave everyone a chance no matter what they looked like, if their behaviour turned out to be horrible then he held something against them. If they married he would most certainly try to bring her about. It was Vance who spoke up next in regards to Zephyros and he had to agree to the first part saying they were an odd one, putting him down however wasn't on his mind at all. She appeared to favour Vance over him but it wasn't something to worry about.

It was then that the Lady asked how they ended up with the other people. "
Well we are in the same Guild as them, we are all mages you see. If you mean how we ended up in this Guild then I can only tell you my own story. To summarise a long story with an aweful lot of insignificant details, I have been training for years to join the officer corps of the Army to make a name for myself and my family. However all training was for naught as it was discovered I had mages blood and therefor could not join up. After a conversation with my trainer, I decided to sign up to a mages guild and make a name there. The guild I had heard the best stories about was this one."

The comment fighting among their own to determine who should enter hadn't found Conrad's ears, instead taking in Lady Nessa, in his eyes she seemed to posses a simplicity that in his opinion was beautiful, no extravagance that was completely unnecessary in his eyes. He quietly listened to Vance tearing into each and every one of the other competitors, like a trained warhound, picking them apart piece by piece. After Aias had spoken he too followed their example "
I too decide to go onward and choose when that time is upon us."

When the Lady called for them to move to the contest room he heard Zephyros swear and all the nobles being outraged and yelling they were lied to and insulting the Lady. Vance again went at them, Aias placed a remark regarding the short-sighted nature of their competition and he was right. Lady Nessa had turned away and apologised as if she were a monster hiding herself away, but everyone that had spoken up of his companions, thought otherwise. "
My Lady, please do not hide away your face, you do not need to hide yourself away or apologise. It is they who spoke such harsh words that should apologise but in their own twisted worlds it will never appear to them to even consider doing so. But please, my Lady do not shy away from us. I can only speak for myself, but I am fairly certain others share this intention, I do not mean to harm you." He said kindly

Conrad simply sat down by himself in the sun to dry his clothes after the fight with the whale. His hair was less of a disaster than Vance's, who among his companions crazy enough to venture into the whale, had been lucky enough to be spat out before being dragged to meet the Mother. The remainder of the journey he spent by himself recovering from the hits he'd taken. It took a while for them to arrive and his clothes had completely dried. "
Good Luck in Sian" He called before disembarking, following Zephyros.

They were halted after just entering the Castle when Zephyros pointed out the competition. Every single one seemed to have one fatal flaw, a prideful one, two violent ones, a gloomy one and one who didn't speak the language, what an assortment of people. While he had been observing the people a discussion had already broke out regarding the morality of the option Zephyros gave them, they could take them out right there and then, sure Vance had a point in practicality, but practicality didn't make it right, he had a thought. "
The girl has a point, Vance, I mean they're no real competition then why bother taking them out while they could just wash out of the competition on their own." He then turned to Zephyros "No matter what you will do, I outright refuse to lift my sword against these people, I would only do so in self-defense. Kill them if you want to, I can't stop you from doing it, but I won't have a part in it." With these words he took a step back.

The whale had taken a lot of attacks from the two teams combined, yet it was still going, he wasn't surprised in the slightest, they were tough creatures to harm. He himself had taken quite the beating as well and was uncertain how long he could go on, his legs weren't far from giving out or atleast he felt like it. He half-heard a girl yell she was afraid of lightning, he could understand that he himself didn't fear it, but still gave it the respect it deserved. He was about to attack the whale when a girl flew past and then Vance came unning past as well both of them headed for the inside of the whale and after these two even a third person jumped inside the whale, were this people just bat**** insane? Sure Vance had a point about nobility leading from the front but he applied the lesson wrong. He then decided it was best to keep on attacking and hoping the crazy people got out before the whale dragged them under. He readied his sword took one more moment to prepare himself and charged the beast.

Conrad was just minding his own business when out of nowhere a pair of whales showed up and some aggresive specimens at that. This was unheard of, these creatures did not attack ships, they were peaceful creatures, something must have disturbed them, maybe it was the size of Vance's ego they saw as a threat. Conrad chuckled to himself, no the man wasn't that bad. Caliborn decided to go ahead and take on one of these behemoths on his own, not really his problem, he wanted to go help him but orders were orders. He looked at the behemoth and closed his eyes lowering them. "
Forgive me Mother that I must commit your child to the Ocean and wash clean my hands" He muttered, he opened his eyes drew his sword and attacked the monster.
