As the trio had cycled through their magic, the group eventually the grand cathedral where they had been previously. Now that they weren't dealing with a rioting crowd or a swarm of heartless, Stratos couldn't help but marvel at the sight a bit. It was definitely larger and had a much more imposing look about it then the rest of the buildings that had surrounded it. Not needing to lead the man any further, as he seemed to either get where they were leading them or just had decided to go there on his own. As Phoebus approached the building, he and the hunchbacked man from earlier seemed to get into some sort of conversation, Phoebus trying to warn him as best he could of the impending danger that Frollo posed. As they were talking, though, there were a few stone statues that seemed to start having a conversation on their own. Stratos was a bit perplexed by this, but not nearly as surprised as one probably should've been at this event. However, what did take him by surprise was that the talking statues could see them. Stratos wondered for a bit what exactly this meant. Were they able to see into the UG? Or were they merely denizens of it as well? Regardless, as the stone beasts figured out that they could indeed hear them, Stratos gave a simple wave and said, "yeah, we're here." Stratos looked around the area, a bit curious before saying, "you know it's a bit weird that you can see us though? Is there any one else who can normally see you guys?" As he said this, he then realized something weird about where he was looking. There was smoke around, but he didn't see anyone who would be lighting a fire. It was then that he noticed what was actually going on here. Seeing some heartless float around, they were red in color and had some kind of funky hat on their shadowed faces. From the tips of their caps, they were starting to launch out fireballs to area, just lighting things on fire and causing general chaos to the surrounding area. With a more serious expression on his face he asked, "and are those things that you can see normally?" Looking to the other two keyblade wielders, Stratos nodded and gestured in the direction of the heartless before summoning his keyblade. With their being a bit of distance between them, he figured it was best to close the gap between them quite quickly. With cherry blossoms starting to fall down from the sky, Stratos quickly vanished where he was standing from, reappearing past the red nocturnes. With a large gash appearing the surrounding ones, they had ceased any and all activity before final exploding into darkness. With the hearts being released into the surrounding area, it looked like the area was all clear for a moment. However, this was merely the calm before the storm. When heartless appeared, it was rarely in very small clusters such as this, and thus more were on their way. As if to confirm his suspicions, more red nocturnes started to float into the area. Giving a bit of a sigh, the boy looked onward as rather than just starting a fire, they seemed to be more focused on the keyblade now. Not really giving them any quarter, though, Stratos charged up his keyblade with magic. With cold converging to the tip, a shard of ice started to form, only for Stratos to point his keyblade towards the enemy. With the magic spell being let loose, the red nocturne was struck with it head on and poofed into a cloud of black smoke. "You don't say?" Stratos said as Beuce mentioned what he had been doing against Mortimer. He wasn't partially sure if he was just trying to cover his tracks in post for what seemed like an odd lapse in judgement at the time, but during the Mizrabel fight when he had used Fira he experienced something similar. Naturally, he hadn't felt any surge of power to make himself so drastically different as Beuce had, though he was still curios about it overall and likely to continue trying this method out during the next time they fought something huge. Steel had made a suggestion to start using something less mana-taxing, which he was all for as the constant summoning of Seeker Mines was quite strenuous. After the last set had finished, Stratos listened to what Beuce had said on the matter and thought for a bit, only to snap his fingers in eureka. "I got it." With a flick of his wrist, a line of lightning bolts rained from the sky, hitting the ground and creating a series of mini explosions, showing their mark on the ground in the same way the seeker mines had, though not nearly to the same intensity. "There we go, that should probably for now."
After Marley had managed to get out of the crypt, they had seen what other heartless there were that had ambushed them. Whistling at the sight of the Mega Shadow, feeling somewhat impressed at the size of the creature in comparison to everything else around it, Marley twirled their keyblade a bit. While they were getting themselves pumped to take on such a large foe, someone else had taken the initiative. As they had emerged from the crypt, Relli had launched an attack against the Mega Shadow, killing it pretty quickly. Pouting a bit at the sight, Marley still decided to give some form of praise to their comrade as they said, "yeah, good job taking that out. Nice." Their tone was flat and almost layered with a bit of disappointment, though they didn't say anything beyond that. Furthermore, they didn't quite pay attention as the smaller shadows had escaped from the crypt, and didn't even really see Cerdic go and deal with them. Instead, her attention had shifted to the Gigas Shadows that had surrounded the Chrys. The male seemed to be a little worse for wear, but otherwise was holding his ground against the large shadows just fine. Seeing this, Marley called out to him saying, "hey, nice party you're having over there." As they were about to go and crash it themselves, Cerdic had leaped in and struck at one of them. Without much difficulty, he seemed to be able to dispatch of one of them, which only served to pump Marley up to fight these things even more. Spinning their keyblade, they tossed it at one of the Gigas-shadows before charging after it. As the keyblade struck the creature, a large chuck of darkness was torn off the creature before Marley had summoned the keyblade back to their hand. The creature started to bring their claw up to swipe at them, but being already injured, it merely took one swing of the keyblade to deal the death blow to the creature. As the creature was slain, another of the Gigas-shadows leaped at Marley, however the keyblade wielder seemed prepared. Charging a blizzard spell into their keyblade, they launched a spike of ice at the head of the creature, causing it to lose all forward momentum. As it stopped in front of Marley, the keyblade wielder gripped their blade tighter, swinging diagonally upward once, before pivoting on their foot, and bringing it downward in the opposite direction. As they had created the x-shaped slash across the creature's chest, it burst into darkness, defeated. As another of the shadows approached Marley, they could only parry the claw away from them, before stepping backward and away from the creature. As the group watched Phoebus get riddled with arrows and had his body sent down to the river below, Stratos could do nothing but simply watch. Both horrified and frustrated at the sight, Stratos wished for nothing more than to burst out of the UG and stop whatever wicked design Frollo had in mind. Obviously, this was not something he could do. To stop him from such ridiculous thoughts even further, as he looked down to Phoebus's body, it seemed the man was still alive. As the rest of the trio had noticed this, they all moved down to try and aid him in any way they could. However, they were unable to interact with the world around them. This posed quite the issue with them, to which Stratos was briefly lost in his thoughts as a way he could get the man up. When Beuce had attempted to cast magic, Stratos seemed pretty curious as to how it worked. It seemed they were allowed some limited interaction, like some kind of ghost or specter to the world around them. As Beuce shifted his form, Stratos couldn't help but whistle, saying, "well that's certainly new." Stratos looked at the form, as he had all of the other ones and this seemed to be a bit different then the one he had been able to enter. He could only feel an overflowing power of magic from it, and a complete inability to use any sort of physical power. However, this was different. The keyblade took a much different form, one that seemed to be almost enhanced from its regular capabilities, and he was still perfectly capable of using magic. As the man started to create mines and shoot them, Stratos wasn't quite sure what he was doing, but it became quite clear as Phoebus started to follow in the direction of the explosions. After the first set of mines were gone, Stratos conjured his own, saying, "it'd be better to split the use of this. It's not an easy spell after all." As Stratos conjured his mines he said, "I guess we should take him near that cathedral. That was the last place the girls were, and since they can actually treat him, it's probably the best bet we got."

Marley had been somewhat silent throughout the trip through the crypt. Not because they were particularly scared or paralyzed by the sight. Quite the opposite. They couldn't help but "oooh" and "aahh" at the haunting sounds continued to grow, becoming more audible as they traveled downward. Eventually they changed from incoherent whispers to something more along the lines of demands. Marely didn't know what they were asking to give back, but wasn't really deterred in their simpleminded expedition of the area. Soon enough the group stumbled across a journal that had been lying on the ground, one that seemed to be related to that weird robed figure they had fought earlier. While Marely was most certainly curious as to what was inside the journal, they hadn't picked it up and wasn't going to pounce on the person for it, especially while inside the crypt where they couldn't read it. With all that said and done, the quartet seemed to have been finished with exploring the area, before they heard Chrys yelling out something. "Heartless?" Marley's interest seemed to be piqued at the singular word. As though a switch had been flipped inside, they drew their keyblade out, and with a wide grin said, "alllriiiight, let's get to it!" As Cerdic stated he had to go clean up the mess of being damned or something, Marley couldn't help but wave him off and say, "good luck with the cleaning, Mr. Janitor." Of course, they had no intention of letting the man do all of this by himself, heavens no, and after a brief moment of waiting and watching him only really swat at the heartless, Marley followed after him. While the heartless that he had struck were recovering, the heartless he hadn't were still making their way towards the crypt, which forced Marley to break through them before they could get to see whatever was outside. Of the heartless that Cerdic hadn't swatted, there were five. A perfect amount for the keyblade wielder if they did say so themselves. As the first of the shadows had presented itself to them, it jumped at Marley, claws at the ready, only to be met with a large key. As the blade swung through the shadow, it burst into a puff of darkness. Looking past it, the other four started to encroach near them. Allowing magic to swirl onto the tip of their keyblade, Marley rushed forward, shooting an ice spike before pivoting on their foot and slashing. The blizzard spell had crashed into one of the heartless, killing it, while Marley slash had swept across a wide arc cutting into the other three, be they on ground or in the air. With that over and done with, the path was more clear than before, with some stragglers left behind, but Marely attempted to rush up and out of the crypt. As they did, they yelled back, "come on you two, don't want to miss out on the fun here now do you?" As Stratos and the other two had went to follow Frollo, the rest of the crew seemed to be pretty silent, probably taken into just keeping a keen eye out for whatever the man might pull. However, nothing seemed to go wrong immediately. The only thing out of the ordinary was that the longer time went on the more Frollo's darkness seemed to intensify, though beyond that he seemed to be going about and his day doing what Stratos could only assume was the norm for an aggressive man like him. Eventually, however, he was interupted as the knight captain from earlier came in to tell of how one of the gypsies had escaped. When Frollo had told him what to go do, Stratos thought for a moment. "Maybe we'd be better off following Phoebus now," he suggested. Elaborating he said, "Frollo seems to content to stay in his room for now, so if we're going to stop him, it'll likely be whenever he makes a move that we'll be able to. What's worse is that if Phoebus finds the gypsys there's no telling what'll happen to them. Even if the knights aren't bad people, if things happen like they did before with the crowd, then all of the people there won't have any way to defend themselves against the heartless." With that, Stratos had said his thoughts on what to do next.
As the group had decided to go following after Frollo, Steel had brought up a good point. Stratos hadn't really thought about what they were going to do beyond following Frollo, and so trying to think of an answer he just shrugged and said, "I'm not entirely sure, but I think an answer will probably fall on us at some point if we keep chasing after him. After all, you saw that darkness around him right? That's bound to keep attracting heartless, and if we're lucky, it'll even take a form that we can deal with." Thinking about it further he then said, "and I guess if we're not, we'll have to rush back here and get the girls to deal with it if it appears over on their side."
Following the crew inside the gates, Marley had noticed that the area was most definitely spooky. The darkness seemed to be getting thicker inside the cemetery, and the endless sea of grave markers did nothing to lighten this atmosphere. Looking around the graves, Marley noticed one that stood out in particular. Shining and pulsing with light, to the east, Marley noticed something that looked like a keyblade and was definitely intrigued by it. However, as others of the group moved towards it, Marley turned to notice that Relli was moving the opposite direction. Deciding to follow after them, the ominous ambient whispers grew louder and louder as they approached the darkness spewing crypt. Raising an eyebrow at this, Marley seemed to have an intrigued, almost adventurous, look to their face as they walked closer towards it. As they approached both the crypt and the person, Marley called out, "hey there Relli. I take it you thought this was super cool too?"
After Stratos had felled another heartless, he felt a hand come down on his shoulder. Turning around suddenly, ready to attack, he saw that it had belonged to Beuce. As the man asked if he intended to do it all by himself, Stratos looked at him curiously saying, "of course not." That was an odd question. Looking to the other member of the party, he saw that Steel too had just destroyed a fair few heartless with lightning, and the looked back at Beuce who went on his own spree. Despite his confusion, he shrugged the question off, and went back to work. As the group had continued to slay heartless after heartless, they had eventually managed to quell the darkness in the surrounding area. Looking over to the girls, they seemed to have managed stopping the guards and townspeople from doing any further harm to the hunchbacked man, and so everything seemed to work out for the best. Sort of. Stratos looked to see that while the darkness of the general area had calmed down, the one surrounding Frollo only grew in size. Stratos's face grew slightly more grim as he looked to the rest of the group and said, "I think I'm starting to get who the monster might be." As the man declared for the knight to go search for the gypsy woman, the girls seemed to be splitting off and following the hunchbacked man. Aislinn walked over to him, telling him what she was planning on doing, and he nodded at her suggestion. "Don't worry, I'll be sure to keep an eye on one of them. Good luck with your thing." Turning to the other two in the UG, he said, "well, i'm going to follow after Frollo. Where he goes, heartless are sure to follow, so someone has to try and keep it in check."
Marley had followed along with the rest of the group, having to squint the further down the path they went. The darkness seemed to be getting thicker the more they traveled, which only made the keyblade wielder all the more curious as to what they would find at the end of it. This curiousity was only driven further as faint whispers slowly started to grow louder and louder the further along they went. As the path had eventually ended in the face of a wall, Marely looked at in awe. Giant wall normally there was something worth keeping in it, and they of course wanted to know what that was. Following the group alongside the wall's length, they were eventually greeted with a large door that Cerdic simply opened with the key part of the keyblade. Walking in, Marley noticed the atmosphere getting undoubtedly more spooky, as they saw that it was a graveyard they were entering. A bit wide eyed, at it, Marley started wondering just what was in this cemetery. Maybe zombies. "That'd be fun," they said to themselves. Without much else to say, Marley walked into the graveyard.
Continuing his fight against the heartless, Stratos had to deal with the next wave of soldier heartless. As one seemed to be ready to attack him, it began a prepitory motion for an attack, causing Stratos to put up his guard immediately at the sight. However, the attack was delayed, as it seemed to be winding up, and so his guard was off balance as the heartless dashed at him. Striking him with a great deal of force, the boy was knocked back, stumbling backward and barely keeping himself off the ground. However, being open from the attack, some of the other soldiers seemed to take advantage of the opportunity, striking their claws at him and spinning about as he was recovering. Not being able to dodge all of them, he felt a claw cut just barely through his sternum, but ultimately the boy was able to avoid any serious wound. Looking at the solider heartless that first attacked, it seemed to be winding up for its attack again. Seeing it coming, Stratos hopped, avoiding the attack as it dashed at him. He then followed this up with his own dashing slash, cleaving through not only the attacker but also a few of the other soldiers that had been behind it. With that, they seemed to take heavy damage, exploding into darkness and releasing the hearts within. 11/20 270 Munny from Blessed Thief
As the heartless started to converge on his position more, this time Stratos was not taken surprise by it, and thus was able to react accordingly. This reaction being to dive straight at them. Jumping into the air, he manuevered past the heartless on the ground by using the momentum of his sliding dash to both slash through a gargoyle and make it over. Skidding across the ground, the boy then spun his keyblade and tossed it towards a soldier who seemed to be a bit confused, slicing through that as well. As a gargoyle seemed to fly at him, the boy summoned his keyblade back to his hand, lighting it ablaze as he struck out with a fire strike. The heartless being burned and cleaved, it dissipated only to reveal 2 more flying behind it, both with claws extended. Bringing his keyblade up to defend against the first and pivoting away from the second, Stratos managed to avoid any major injury, and struck out at the first one with a simple slash. Knocking the creature down, he then did an upper slash, cleaving the creature in two, only to let loose a third slash to intercept the gargoyle that had missed him earlier, splitting it in two as well. 10/20 240 Munny from Blessed Thief
After brushing himself off from the last bit of heartless he had fought, the boy then moved on to find more of them to get rid of. However, his effort in this was not so much needed as the heartless had decided to come to him instead. Evidently, they had taken noticed of his slaying of their kin and didn't quite enjoy that. As such, he was immediately dive bombed by a few of the gargoyles, claws ready and raking across the air at him. Seeing this coming, Stratos had managed to dodge backward and away from the creatures. However, as he did, he was struck in the back as a few soldiers had moved to flank him. Being pushed but not falling, the boy realized that the group that was attacking him was slowly and steadily getting larger, as more gargoyles started to fly his direction and more soldiers moved to circle him. As they started to try and trap the boy, he simply sighed as he twirled his keyblade around, channeling it with white magical power. As he did so, four columns of light began to appear around him on to go forth and towards his enemies as he swung his keyblade at the air. The pillars exploding into blasts of light decimated the heartless in no time, yet left the boy all the more noticeable to the other ones in the area. 9/20 210 Munny from Blessed Thief
Continuing his fight against the heartless, Stratos moved on to a group of little floating balls of darkness. These ones didn't really seem to be drifting towards the people, but they did seem to be gravitating towards other inanimate objects. Not really wanting to see what they had in store, Stratos channeled magic through his keyblade, causing a small rain of lighting of to fall from the sky. As the lightning bolts struck true, the creatures were completely decimated by the magic, which made Stratos go to check out where the next wave was, only to see a few gargoyles sweep down at him. While he was able to dodge out of the way of the first one, it was a hasty dodge and thus he was slightly off balance. This in turn made him have to block the second one's attack, which forced him to the ground and made it fairly difficult for him to dodge out of the way of the next one's slash. Scrambling back, Stratos's face was slightly cut by the claw, not being able to dodge fully, but the boy managed to spring back onto his feet. Looking at the flying heartless, the boy channeled ice into his keyblade as he struck at each one with one strike, the final one hitting far harder than the rest. With it, the small ground was vanquished. 8/20 180 Munny from Blessed Thief
After having handily dealt with the soldiers, Stratos then started to look around for what else there was. As he did, he briefly marveled at the raw amount of darkness that was actually around in the area. It wasn't something he had seen commonly in other world, in fact aside from his own he'd never just seen raw darkness before. But here, it seemed almost just a natural occurrence, which was more surprising to him then it probably should have been. Nevertheless, there was little time to understand the nature of the world he was in, as it was clearly a threat to the world his friends were in. Looking at the shadows scurrying across the ground, as one made its way out of the ground, it was soon met with a keyblade colliding straight into it. As the heartless was felled, Stratos looked to the ground for more of the heartless, calling his keyblade back to his hand. As he saw a few more getting out from the ground, with a flick of his blade being pointed upward, Stratos rained lightning from the sky. With each bolt striking the heartless, they exploded from the attack, leaving their targets safe for now. 7/20 150 Munny from Blessed Thief
Recovering from his use of Zantetsuken, Stratos looked around to see how things were going. Two of the girls in the RG seemed to be trying their best in order to stop the crowd from pelting the hunchbacked man with fruit, but the boy knew that they could only do so much. With the darkness as thick it was here, there was no telling how many more people would be swallowed by it if they didn't stop the heartless. Twirling his keyblade a bit, Stratos looked around as he saw a group of solider heartless all getting together, seemingly try to make a horde out of themselves before going for the attack. Dashing at them, Stratos slid forward in a burst of speed as he smashed into one and killed it. Despite being taken off guard by the boy's entrance, one of them had already been preparing to retaliate. As it spun forward and dashed, its claws were caught by the boy's keyblade and the beast was split in two as he followed up with another slash. The four others of this group, no longer being in surprise, had all started together and charge at him. Channeling magic through his keyblade, Stratos conjured four bubbles of water, firing each of them at a solider. With each bubble bursting one after the other against them, the heartless had been taken care of in no time, leaving Stratos to go find a different group to take care of. 6/20 120 Munny from Blessed Thief
He started to examine what it was that felt off about him right now. His attacks had more impact. His body felt lighter. He was able to react to enemies with more ease now. Briefly thinking on it, Stratos couldn't understand where it was that he got this sudden surge of strength from, but it was something that he wasn't complaining about. As he saw a few other gargoyle heartless flying about in the air, he noticed that they were about to dive bomb the crowd and strike at them. Not wanting the people to be consumed by them, Stratos took in a deep breath, trying to keep a level head as cherry blossoms began to flutter around in the air. Soldiers were frolicking towards people throwing fruit, Gargoyles dive bombing, shadows rising up to strike from underneath. He saw them all, and in an instant, they all stopped. Appearing beyond a section of the crowd, Stratos's blade had moved positions and a large slash had appeared across all the heartless he had seen. As time began to move once again, the heartless were motionless as their bodies were split in two, exploding and leaving nothing but wisps of darkness in their place. Striking through the wave of heartless, Stratos felt odd. His keyblade passed through the shadow, like a hot knife through butter, and effortlessly dispersed it. As he looked around to see more shadows prowling about Stratos tossed his keyblade with strike raid to break through them as they attempted to leap at the people in the crowd. As the keyblade made quick work of them, Stratos looked over to see a heartless over his shoulder. A purple creaturewith a jagged maw and bat like wings, the gargoyle heartless swept downward with claws raised in an attempt to slash at the keyblade wielder. While he saw the attack coming at him, Stratos felt as though there was no way he would be able to dodge it in such a short period of time. However, despite taking the moment to think this, his body had reacted, moving faster than the claw could swipe and the boy managed to dodge out of the way in time. Summoning his keyblade back to his hand, the boy coated it in flame as he struck out with a fire strike, eliminating it in one fell swoop. Standing up from the attack, he continued to have this odd feeling about him, but kept his keyblade gripped tightly as he turned to face the next set of heartless. After Stratos said some brief thoughts on the darkness that had appeared Frollo, the duo didn't seem have much to add and so Stratos merely kept to his thoughts. He followed Frollo and Phoebus as they left the area and had started making their way towards the square. Once they had gotten there, there seemed to be some kind of large performance that was going around here. Seeing that they had no other leads as to where to go, Stratos decided to stay in the square for the time being and just watched as the crowd seemed to be enthralled by the performance of the one gypsy woman, Esmerelda. While she seemed to tease the straight laced and rather foul mood Frollo, the crowd enjoyed it nonetheless and Stratos couldn't help but smile and chuckle at the performance. As the performance continued, Stratos was about as startled as the rest of the crowd when the man named Quasimodo was revealed to them, having never really seen a person like him before. While he had recoiled a bit, he briefly felt sorry for him, being made a clown act of but the man seemed fine with it, leaving Stratos slightly confused on how to feel. However, he did know how to feel about what transpired next. Watching a bit in horror as the crowd started to pelt him with things, Stratos felt a bit powerless to stop any of it from happening, being in the UG. However, he soon noticed that caught his attention. "Guys! Look," he said to his fellow UG members, drawing out his keyblade as he pointed to the swirling darkness about. Soon the darkness took the shape in the form of the heartless, trying to attempt to blacken the hearts of the people around. Getting his game face on, Stratos noticed his RG partner in the crowd as well and shouted out, "Aislinn! There's heartless here so try to keep things under control out there while we take care of them!" With that, the boy used a Sliding Dash straight at the mob of heartless.
