And I understand this sentiment, but the desired outcome just turns into a cycle (Prems want more, Nobles happen; Nobles want more New Tier happens)

To actually have more activity, there has to be incentive to post from a larger group of people---which goes back to what GS was pointing out.

I realize being a premium member already means there's 'nothing' to shoot for, but if the core sentiment behind wanting a new usergroup is to elicit increased activity, then wouldn't giving Premiums more perks actually accomplish that for Normal Members, which are the majority, thus creating much more activity for the site as a whole?

This would also mean not having to divide perks per usergroups and avoiding color issues.

The only thing is, no one gave any confirmation that this would actually happen? No one said people would lose their premium status. And I would hope it didn't happen.

As for the stricter requirements, if any would be added I don't think anything exaggerated would be added. Maybe something to do with the likes system, but nothing that would make people cringe.

If anything, it'd be better to add ALL THE POSSIBLE PERKS to one usergroup instead of having to thin them out between two different groups. I don't see why adding more perks has to mean more requirements, either.

Read the rest of the rules. Specifically,

The rules cover both sides considerably. Which is why I urge people to read the rules.

I'll quote the rules here for convenience...

It doesn't matter if you think this somehow makes a person grow a backbone (which I have to question personally), nor if you want to have your personal brand of fun with individuals you know. But if a person asks to stop, then you stop. That is it.

Respect people's boundaries and we can all keep the peace and co-exist. That is all.

Misty's style is very peculiar, so I don't think anyone else besides her could get it 100% right. I tried once...let's just say it didn't go so well.

Anyways, I like the color choices you made for the most part, but the whole tag seems a bit bright and I think that also hurts the smudging. With next to no contrast, it's hard to differentiate most of what's going on in the background.

Maybe next time, try using darker shades of blue in combination with lighter tones and start smudging to create depth. But I bet you already know all this xD

I was of the same mindset until I realized that she's actually just sitting in front of the screw, thus using it for back/butt support.

    But that kills the fun.

That would be nice. But at the moment we don't have a specific list of things or anything to report aside from a capture device for the newest iterations of KH (Other mods can pitch in here if there's something I'm missing)

unfortunately, the price for that is fairly high (over the hundreds) so we have to open up donations so that staff don't have to be forking over money whenever an emergency arises or if we need something.

Overall, depending on the donations we may even expand on to bigger things like being able to give out physical prices in contests.

    Possible spoilers ahead

I like the sequel personally, specially since XIII did a horrible (I still love the game) job of expanding on the mythos that was plaguing their existence (Etro and Chaos, Gods, The past in Gran Pulse which plays a MAJOR part in XIII-2). Fal'Cie are now small fry and the stakes are higher.

XIII was never fully stand-alone, if you know where to look. In the grand scheme of things, saving Cocoon was just warm-up. The heroes had to face a world falling into Chaos and a goddess that was fading away.

The biggest problem (I think) for Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 is cohesion and exposition. Storytelling issues. We get logs upon logs and then you add time travel and it all turns confusing.

I still have so many questions about the story overall. Lots of details I'm still confused on.

That sort of scares me a bit. Mainly because it seems like they want to focus on Lightning and not the actual XIII thing as an overall.

    So many questions...

...Okay, let's go over this again. So I say people may have made effort in nominations and you imply that somehow means I said 'no-one' made effort?

Not invalidating the possible effort made by nominators means I'm invalidating them? That's not how it works.

Actually, no. Stop pushing your implications on me, and we can get somewhere. I already told you it was an opinion and should have been stated as so? Beyond that no, I will not have it placed your connotations thank you. I'd rather it'd have my own.

And this is part of the contradiction you're trying to point out. And quite frankly if you want to, that's none of my business. Take it to Misty if you want because that is not the point I was getting at.

I have no comments on your subjective view on the matter, because that's you. However, it strikes me as odd that you can somehow try to dissect my comment as an attack towards members because NOWHERE in the quote does it refer to a specific group or to specific members.

Actually not justifying it? If you actually didn't just take what convened you from what I wrote you'd see that my opinion on the matter is quite different. Specifically:

If what you mean that I justify the taking of the awards? No. I have no involvement in the awards and I quoted a post and expressed agreement with others.

Actually, maybe I think there are better solutions to fixing issues than closing out a whole section where the backlash would be insufferable?

Yes, but you asked me why they were different? I explained why I said they could be. Anything else is you adding extra stuff.

Actually, I never said that I agreed to it, AND I quoted a post which was shared similar opinions to mine. If I want to outright post a concrete opinion about what Misty posted then I'll post it.

It's very easy to accuse me of avoiding things when you miss the point of my posts and then start twisting my words. Calling people out in a sarcastic and rude manner is not a 'style', it's simply wrong here. Regardless of what you think Misty may/may not be doing. Which is the point you seem to miss in favor of implying I'm just avoiding things.

You said you'd speak to Misty, so any more discussing here is moot. However, you need to keep negative attitudes out of it.

If you read what I said without jumping at it, you'd realize that I didn't really say that and you're actually jumping way ahead.

Within the realm of reason there's a certain discomfort--I'm not refuting or negating that, actually. However, my comment was actually an opinion. Should have said "I think" or something.

The most basic response I can muster is what Misty said about members actually being hurt that their peers think they're worst at something? And what I said about the negative atmosphere lately.

If we were all on the same mind-set or at least a similar one, then this wouldn't be happening. If we can all come together without the negativity involved, then we could have awards set-up nicely, more events and so on.

More importantly, the reason why I say next year is because I think people can actually get along and be nice to each other in time for next year.

Misty said it was a last-minute call on her, yanking them out. Emphasis on last minute. Do I think it should be done last minute? or do I agree with everything that happened? No. I am, however, explaining that I don't think she intentionally left it out to trick people.

Actually, that's just your assumption and a blanket statement in the first part. And of course it's bound to drive people away? It's impossible to please everyone, you know. We don't just do things for laughs and people leaving is actually something we usually try to take into consideration.

It's different because of the part about shutting it down that Hero of Time mentioned to compare it. The reactions would be...more aggressive. And that was the point I was trying to portray.

But you can find fundamental differences and similarities. In his case, he mentioned how both could get you offended/hurt. I mentioned how the medium was different and how the reaction to shutting it down would also be different.

Is there any other point you're trying to get to hit home? I think we already established that was an oversight. No one is actually covering up for it or saying it was right.

As for more specifics, which I think you still seem to have questions, you'll actually have to ask Misty because my involvement with the Awards was minimal and basic.

Actually, no. The problem is not pointing out a contradiction, or thinking a person is. It's how you do it with sarcasm as if that somehow constitutes a proper discussion on a serious matter within suggestions and feedback.

If your purpose was to exercise your wit through sarcasm, then stop right there. If your purpose was to call-out Misty for lying by using sarcasm, then stop too. Neither will fly. And neither actually help the actual discussion like the thread creator or anyone wanted.

To the first part about effort. I'm not going to say no effort was placed in it, but more effort is placed into actually making the event go smoothly. So not to downplay their efforts, but everything else around the site---Premium, Pins and what have you? Site events, Anniversary gifts. Those are all to reward members. One year of not having 'Worst' categories is hardly worth the fuzz or a whole suggestion thread to have them back.

Will they come back next year? Yes, if everything goes well. I can however understand the questioning and doubt as Chris and you have expressed? But I think that was just an oversight and was not actually intentional.

The second part...I don't know what to answer to that? It being 'deceiving' seems like a stretch when the Worst categories have just been yanked. It's not like Misty said 'oh well, I'll remove it and keep it Best and Worst categories to deceive members! Woo!' but rather that she forgot that minor detail?

And to the third part I agree. But as I said, I don't think...in fact I'm almost certain it was an oversight. It happens.

Shutting down the Spam Zone? That wouldn't solve anything and in-fact most people would leave. But comparing the Spam Zone to the awards is apples to oranges. Staff do try to keep the Spamzone free of offense but that's not always possible because we are not mind-readers. Nor are we able to prevent everything, sadly.

I realize the complaint against offensive comments, but even so much as to clarify and simplify the overall conduct on the site received massive backlash. So there's plenty of mixed signals here and there. The Spamzone is a completely different monster than the awards.

    You're not crazy, don't say that :c

And I agree to this mostly. Except the Spamzone thing. And I think that right now the last thing the site needs is negativity over the awards, which is one of the highlights of summer. Specially recently where everything is gushing cynicism and negativity.

So I think the attempt was more to just make things ease into each other nicely, rather than have more negativity spilling over everything.

Annnd to those who are tripping Misty on her own words. Give her a break, she's only human. And I find it extremely unfair to give her that much of a hard time over something which she personally took the time to set-up, organize and make happen for years now. I don't think most people would care, specially after being treated like crap. Note that this is not the same as expressing concern about something (like some have done respectfully here). So kindly, stop.

This discussion can be good and productive, but not with confrontational or mocking attitudes ;c
