Conrad followed Rayyad who said he'd let Kara in, if Kara was here maybe the others were as well. The accusations would probably start flying again, but he'd rather take that than having to bury them all. There were fewer bodies around and they happened upon yet another door. He looked at the webbing it didn't seem to be real at all. And he heard hissing. He grabbed his newly acquired sword and stood at the ready. "I don't like this, I don't like this at all..." Conrad muttered, he took a bone from one of the skeletons that was laying around and prepared to throw it, he wanted to know if that web was really there or not. "Everyone stay sharp, if you don't have any objections I want to test if that thing over there is real..." He figured he'd keep the whole discussion thing going, after all maybe he overlooked something. The statues had changed and he recalled that Rayyad had warned against hallucinations and he was afraid none of this was real. "Well Russel, nice to meet ya." He said as the stranger introduced himself. As he carried Kellan over the man tried to struggle free and even attempting to kick him, but the barbarian simply marched on and eventually put Kellan down. "Promises Sithwyr, promises" The barbarian only said. Russel mentioned a new group called the burning blade. "Say, Kellan friends of yours and your Radiant sword or is there something you haven't told your old pal Baldy?" The barbarian would have felt insulted that Kellan kept secrets from his old friend, but he really didn't give two shits. "Say who is this Philius guy and how the hell do you lot know each other, seeing Kellan probably isn't gonna tell me, say Russel would you be a gentleman and elaborate? I feel like we're missing something here." Baldomar asked the man and then thought for a moment and then looked at Kellan "Wait, you didn't borrow money from a loanshark right?" Everyone knew that was a bad idea, well nearly everyone.
Alastar merely watched it all unfold, these witchers had some interesting friends and they were wondering how a human girl could get along with a Witcher so well? Well then, he kept that comment to himself, that Vampire seemed real attached to the mage girl following her around wherever she went, though he doubted they were related. "If you're gonna visit a King I don't think I'm gonna tag along. Politics wastes way too ****ing much time and in the end it's all pointless, not to mention bastards acting all high and mighty, while they are still humans. I don't do well with them, then again I think I can keep my mouth shut for once." Alastar said He listened to what the mage girl said. "I dunno who this Solomon bloke is, but if the Witch Hunters are after him, why bother, let them take care of it. Then after that we'll take out the Witch Hunters, honestly let them fight and deplete their resources, we'll take out whoever survives." Alastar said really not having much of an idea who he was on about. He followed the remained of the conversation just listening, so they were going to the famed Kaer Morhen then? He himself hadn't ever been there, but going by portal... he hated portals with a passion. But since it was more convenient and they needed to stick together he would make an exception and actually use the portal. "Ready, if still welcome. That is."He stood close to Treasa, she had never traveled by portal and it was quite the experience. He figured he'd stay close to her, so she knew she wasn't alone and he didn't quite trust the vampire. Milosh merely laughed. "Cowards weapons? Well that's just your take on it. As for Coward's weapons, you're hardly one to talk having an associate who is attacking my people, when invisible." He had noticed the people dropping in the back as for his tactics, he gave a simple hand gesture with his free hand and half a dozen dimeritium bolts went for Bramwell. Cowardly as the crossbows might be, he didn't care, he only cared for results, not how they were achieved. And it wasn't like the man in front of him would play fair in his shoes anyways. No only the dead played fair. He swung the sword at the mage, it's runes enhancing the already master crafted blade.
"If I learned anything in my years, **** like this is never easy. We should call ourselves lucky that we found anything at all." Hendrick said, having organised everything he went over to her and knelt by her side. "The fight ain't over till it's over, Roxi, this battle wasn't lost, the war isn't lost. No matter how many times this demon thinks he has us beaten, we'll prove him wrong and strike out. We'll crush him, Roxanne, mark my words." Hendrick was confident they could beat them, sure she was right it hardly made sense to them, but he was confident they could make it work. He went back to the table going over a few other books there, but since he found nothing in his quick search he put them back on the shelf as well. When he was done Roxanne mentioned a text from Brianne's brother and that she was gonna play a messenger, well if Brianne was back already he guessed it was time for the explanation he owed her. He had noted how Roxanne mentioned Alarick to be cute, odd way to look at him, then again she didn't know what had transpired between the two of them. And Hendrick would keep it all quiet and try his best to avoid him as long as possible. Hendrick followed the younger Nephilim as she called out for Brianne, she had put on a brave face as she went to look for the head of the Institute, walking through the hallway of the Instititute he didn't hear anything to indicate anyone else was there. Maybe she had gotten caught outside, just like he himself had the previous night and he became slightly worried. He himself had taken on the four vampires and gotten out badly, but she had just a stele with her, he silently prayed to the Angel everything was gonna be alright and everyone returned safely.
Hendrick was organising the bookshelves again, it hadn't gone unnoticed to him that Roxanne sat on the floor rather than on a table, but thought it best not to comment on it and just let her be. When books started flying across the room he took a break from his organisation duties and looked at Roxanne she clearly had been frustrated by something. He picked up the book and looked at the Index, finding something useful about the banishment of Demons . He went over to the designated pages and began reading, it mentioned something about a ritual for 20 years of banishment. He went over the passages describing the rituals, but whatever was required made no sense to him at all. "I think we got something here.... It's a ritual for banishing, not permanent but for 20 years.... Whatever we may need makes no sense to me, we may need some help on that one, but it seems like our best bet right now." He looked at the book again, pages were torn out or faded, it mattered little they were useless. Atleast it was a start for what they wanted to achieve.
"Yeah she is." Conrad agreed. "Well, that's not really in our control is it?" She convinced Rayyad to try and communicate with the person in question. Tessa let her eyes wander around the room and Conrad just stood there, remaining sharp after all it was a hostile environment they were in, not in the least judging from all the bones that were strewn across the cavern floor. And hostile environments meant that one would always have to keep their guard up. He didn't take his sword out quite yet, trusting his senses that he would see any opponent coming. Rayyad told them the girls name was Kara. "Yes, she is part of our group. Tessa, what do you think? Should we just let her wander? She'll get killed if we do that and I doubt she'll listen to any warnings given...." Conrad said. Baldomar gratiously accepted the ten golden coins from the stranger. "Now you, I can probably get along with." Baldomar said then the bloke wanted to know who they were. "I am Baldomar, professional reviewer of prisons, warden of the mystical secrets of the hidden art of Hammer time and all-round barbarian, what did you say your name was? Jimmy?" The bloke mentioned Kellan again so Baldomar felt obliged to help the man out. He walked over to Kellan, grabbed hold of the man carried him back to the stranger they rescued and held him up for the man to see. "Do you mean this guy?" Baldomar asked, then putting Kellan back on his feet "Why do you ask? He owe you money or something?" The barbarian really was wondering what the deal was here? But if he had any bad intentions he would smash the blokes face in faster than someone could say 'You can't touch this.'
Hendrick nodded when Roxanne answered "Alright, then let's get going before the boss is here." Hendrick said as he walked with the girl to the Library she seemed to be feeling better, a lot better actually and it didn't occur to him some of it might be pretending. He couldn't fathom how such a small show of kindness could have such an effect and was glad it hadn't blown up in his face yet... He half expected this to backfire at some point. And it'd pass the time before Brianne came back so that'd be nice, not that he looked forward to the conversation but it had to be done. He started looking through the pile of books trying to deduce from the titles if it were related to the subject at hand he started sorting through them, ignoring books about downworlders and neatly stacking any and all books about demons on the table. He also took the moment to sort the shelves out a little bit, grouping books on specific downworlders together so information would be easier to find. He figured it had been that way at some point but right now some books didn't seem to have been put back where they belonged and that was simply not done. "Could you please go through those and see if there's anything useful in them?" He asked Roxanne as he was still happily moving books around, his wounds still ached and he figured there'd be hell to pay for this later, but he wasn't gonna cross any bridges he hadn't reached yet.
Derrick chimed in with what he had said that Veera didn't need to die. Then he mentioned time after everyone had recovered and only then was reminded of the duty he had as a witcher. "Well, I don't know what we're gonna do after this or where we're going, we might tag along. It's good to see some other witchers. And I don't know anything about them mage hunters or anything but I think the King would like his city back and with the amount of Necrophages we saw in there, I don't think the Redanian Army's gonna cut it. Though I must say there were a lot of them, more than there should have been, but that might just be my take on it." Alastar said. He had been traveling for a long time now and staying in a place for a longer period seemed rather appealing to him and well there was always Treasa to think of, yes it would be best if they stuck around. There were a few newcomers he didn't recognise at all, Alastar thought it best not to say anything, lest he start another riot and a half. Milosh merely laughed at Bramwell's implications "Look at me, does it look like the face of a man, who gives a **** whether he dies or not?" He stated "Death comes to all in the end, you, me, every single person in this world will die eventually. I'm merely taking a gamble and am prepared to live with the consequences. The Redanian army is nothing more but a shadow of it's former self." And hey this man here thought he wanted to meet the army out in the open, oh no he would bleed it dry through a thousand tiny cuts. Everything had been set up and set in motion, proper fighters and crossbow men had piled into the building three dozen fighting men, every dozen lead by an experienced Witch hunter, Egon and Adalwulf still hadn't returned from their supply run, but no matter. "Now I think we are done here, mage." Milosh said, putting a lot of negative emphasis on the word mage. "It was nice of you to come to me, saves me a trip." As Milosh finished his sentence, the soldiers entered the main hall, surrounding Bramwell and his entourage. "But I'm sorry to tell you that your formal request to live, has been denied." Dimeritium tipped crossbow bolts were fired as the warriors engaged the mage's guards. Milosh drew his own blade that glowed a soft red from the runes laid upon it as he stepped forward to meet his foe in single combat. An Eastern wind blew across the city of Oxenfurt, the cool air filled with the stench of what had happened in the city. It the shrill sound of a fiddle playing, which could be heard within the city. The Ghouls and Alghouls had only been the Vanguard as more and more necrophages showed up to the aftermath of the disaster that had struck. They were joined by Graveirs and a handfull of Cemetaurs. Grave hags took up residence within the city. Rotfiends gathered on street corners as if they were people gathering to listen. As a trio of Bullvores divided the city among the three of them. The riverside was dominated by packs of drowners. Before the burning church stood the cowled figure with a fiddle. The orchestrator of all this. The new lord of Oxenfurt, had taken up residence with his subjects. They swept through the city to make it their own. He had delivered as he had promised them all. This was their city now and he would rule his subjects as their lord. When the church would have stopped burning he would make it his seat of power, the crowning of the Lord of decay was at hand, heralding a new age.
"Any time." Hendrick said simply as the girl had pulled away. "Noted, and I'll figure something out, maybe even more awesome than yours, but don't worry you'll be allowed to borrow it." Hendrick said with a grin on his face indicating he wasn't serious at all atleast not about the more awesome part. The girl turned out to have been lost in more ways than one. "Don't worry, I know the way." Hendrick said, despite his relatively short stay her in the city he knew his way around. "It's alright, come on." The older shadow hunter said, in her case it was a good thing she had a fancy phone to be able to find the way back home, he briefly considered texting Brianne that he had found her and was returning to the Institute but quickly realised his mistake as he remembered she had thrown the bloody thing to the wall in a fit of rage. Well no use crying over it, they'd just meet at the Institute. Hendrick safely navigated himself and Roxanne back to the Institute this time without a murder of Vampires coming for his blood. This was a good thing because Hendrick really wasn't looking for another fight and going to have to explain to the Silent Brother he had ignored the doctor's advice given. He traced the lines of a rune on the door for it to open and let himself and Roxanne in, locking it again behind them, taking the elevator towards the main hallway. "So, I take it we'll just go straight for the library then? Or do you want to look into that another time?" He himself would like the distraction simply to not think ahead of the discussion he would have with Brianne.
Alastar listened to Derrick's story after Treasa had asked him a question well **** that was a shitstorm and a half. Veera didn't seem to be taking it all very well, as if she needed to die. "Woah woah calm down, Veera, you killed Dopplers well some of them are right bastards so serves them, just like humans. Anyways there is no way their reaction was justified, the pillaging, murdering and burning there were more innocents killed by the dopplers than by your own hands, you may feel like it's your fault, but it ain't not entirely this was going to come around one way or another." Treasa wondered if it really had to be that way. "No, it doesn't, sure Dopplers may have escaped the city, but honestly how many would know exactly what happened? They're like sheep following the crowd, some may not even have known why they fought, they just did because they were told. What I'm saying is only a select few know what transpired exactly here. So it's simple we cover it up and disappear for a while, lay low till this whole things blows over. We're already few in number and the number of monsters only seems to be growing we'll need all the hands we can get, especially experienced ones at that. If someone sentences her to death, I will raise my axe for a sister witcher." The bear school witcher said, his attention then turned to the Crow, who was still sleeping. "Question... does the Crow know all this? and if not will he be told?" Veera and Derrick he might outrank on age and experience but there was no way he would outrank the legendary Crow and that would complicate this already delicate situation even further. The doppler seemed to understand his reasoning and asked him what his decision was. "You will find work, start working, a good part of the money you will earn will be sent to the girl you hurt as a form of reparition. Simple as that." The Mage's voice radiated authority, the friendly welcome old man had left the room "Meanwhile you can stay here with me so shelter and food are taken care off. And when I say work I mean honest hard work, young man. I'm thinking dockworker might be something for you, heard they were looking for some the other day." Dockworker was hard work, particularly physical labour and while he was aware the young man was wounded the job might give him some character and after all hard manual labour would be punishment in it's own, after all it was a punishment and not a damn hand out.
He heard a rather familiar voice call him and he looked up seeing Reitan "Greetings, Lancer." Zahariel didn't mind the Lancer too much after all he too still engaged in glorious melee combat. The Captain had answered the Lancer's question and the robot and girl seemed to be more inclined to speak. The robot offered him tea, but he would have to refuse. "No, tea for me" The god stated simply. The girl however seemed to initially want to go home. The robot didn't exactly seem to grasp the concept of home. "Home isn't as much a place as it is a feeling. A feeling of fitting in, belonging where you are. This can be anywhere, everyone has a home, even if they haven't found it yet." The God explained but figured it wouldn't be very useful to do since it was a robot they didn't feel emotions like living things and therefor couldn't grasp the concept of home, flawed in it's very nature. Humans tried to be like the gods in creating these things but they didn't even come close to the glory they had made. Zahariel smiled at the awkward behaviour of Kala having not been around people in a while, there was something about her that intrigued him. "We can teach you, Kala" The Andaran Prince said and Zahariel agreed, it wasn't too difficult to do even for a Custodian like himself. "Indeed we can, worry not Kala we have quite the assortment of characters, I'm sure you'll fit in nicely." However it wasn't entirely true, no matter what they all told him, he wasn't at home here, he didn't belong among them. But as the custodian of this world he had no choice in the matter and would walk the long Road.
Despite his inexperience he must be doing something right as Roxanne walked into his open arms, he carefully held the girl who pressed her head against him and she cried. Asking him not to leave her alone. He was torn between bolting and leaving her alone, just to avoid getting caught in this and telling the girl he wouldn't leave her. Deep down he knew it was already too late to run away. He had been caught in the things he wanted to run from and there was no more running. He closed his eyes and lowered his own head on top of Roxanne's, feeling her hair touch his cheek. "I won't, Roxi.... I'll try and be there for you and it'll be difficult sometimes, but I'll try." He whispered in return, that idea from earlier really didn't sound like such an idiotic idea. He held the girl close until he felt her pull away, letting go of her. "Come on, we should get back to the Institute, if we get back before Mrs Grumpypants does so we can check if the Library has anything that can help us in our fight." Hendrick said gently in hindsight there seemed to have been no right or wrong choice there. Had he stayed back there with Roxanne, Briane would have gotten herself killed without a doubt. So that was arguably the worse of the two options, but it seemed like it would have prevented him from getting caught in all this. Damn it, why did he have to run into those vampires or rather get wounded so badly by them... If he hadn't he probably would have been able to get away with a solo mission, oh well no going back now anyways. He realised that when they got back to the Institute, Brianne would like to hear what had brought him here in the first place and he wasn't exactly looking forward to it.
Conrad shook the 16 year old's hand though he swore the bloke looked a lot older than 16 but hey who was he to argue. "Likewise, Doon" He said as he walked with him to their first destination. The others had already left and were probably making a lot more speed but hey. "Well while Zephyros undoubtedly wants something in return for his help, I don't. As for my magics, I specialised in three types of magic. One being concealment, now you might think why do you need magic for that, well it allows me to stand in front of you without being seen. Here take a look." Conrad said as he cast concealment on himself disappearing completely for several moments he dispelled it's effect reappearing again. "The other two are Heavenly body which is used for fighting and has a few utility spells but mainly destructive effects, lastly there is Dark Écriture, which is more of a means to an end giving me the ability to dictate rules in a place. And make up magicly enforced contracts." Conrad explained as he walked with the boy. "What has it been like down here all this time and is the situation really that bad that it seems hopeless?"
Alastar sat there meditating on his own quite quickly he got his thoughts back in line and rejoined the others. Derrick had gotten back as well and asked him about the bloke who had mentioned the dead witcher. He described what the two individuals looked like, picking his words carefully when describing the sorceress to not have everything explode again. "The bloke seemed real nervous when talking to me, seemed to hate witchers. Threatened that next time I ran into him he'd kill me, it probably doesn't surprise you that I told him I'd be burying his corpse in the aftermath of that... We already nearly came to blows when I told him he ain't a ****ing witcher despite the swords. I thought it fishy to have someone run around with Witcher gear and not being a witcher and all that. Don't know where they went, but if I run into that ****er again I'll put him in the ****ing ground... He told me the only reason he didn't want to fight was because he felt bad for that witcher's sister or something and you lot needed to know? I don't know... That's the gist of it, did I miss anything Treas?" He asked his neice not sure if he had covered everything. He thought he had, but best to make sure. He should have brought this whole issue up a bit earlier but hey who was he to judge what was the right time to bring something up. Then again it was kind of important to mention this, oh well hindisght.
And everything went Supernova as always 'good job Alastar you did it again' he thought to himself. "Woah woah woah, didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry alright, I'm well aware I look and fight like a bear, mammoth, Griffin whatever... it was wrong of me to act like that, but I can't really help it... as my neice would put it... I lack tact and a boatload at that... But let me argue with an Archgriffin and it'll play nice in a jiffy. I didn't know... well I ran into some bloke who mentioned a witcher dying and something 'bout a sister of his and well I think I saw the aftermath of that masacre, it's all a bit hazy... But I didn't know about the bloody mage hunters or anything... I'm sorry alright, I just wanted to brighten the mood with some fun at my expense... I'm not very good with people.... " He then got **** from Veera for what he had done. When she finished she ripped into Treasa and while she was right he didn't like it but Treasa with difficulty apologised. 'Hell if I'm causing this much trouble, and you're even ****ing suggesting it I might as well leave, Treasa, if you want you can stay with them... they're better examples anyways...' It sounded right in his head but he didn't say it out loud. He couldn't leave Treasa behind, she'd never forgive him for it, he'd betray her and he was the last thing she had left. He was a beast... a savage, having difficulty dealing with people other than his own neice and even at that he sometimes ran into trouble. He walked away, isolating himself a little bit, but not far enough to be out of Treasa's sight, turning his back towards them he knelt to meditate, trying to clear his head up. He had taken note of how Derrick had said Veera had tried to kill him and wouldn't doubt she would hesitate to just end his life for nothing. All he had wanted was to lighten the mood by having Derrick insult him a bit as mates would, but he clearly had taken the wrong bloody tone or picked the wrong ****ing words, some example he was... Sigmund merely waited for the door to open and when it finally did everything started to take care of itself as Tilly went to work with Tessa, that left Seth unoccupied and he figured it would be time to discuss their matter further he had made up his mind. "Seth if you have a moment... the punishment, I have made a consideration, something that I probably shouldn't have done since lady justice is blind, but by the graces of the Gods consider yourself lucky. Unless you absolutely abhor working, then I'll have some bad news for you." The old mage said, he didn't leave the room it hardly mattered anymore whether he liked it or not this was gonna be the last option he would get. "Take note that this is the last drop of mercy you are getting, this will be your punishment and it will be final is that clear?" The mage was stern now, the softer friendly side of him having left for now, it would only complicate things needlessly
Hendrick pulled the girl to her feet, he then saw the full extent of her wounds. The way she had been speaking it was as if someone else had been there. He really wasn't suited for this kind of care but he had to try regardless. "He hasn't won yet and while I still draw breath, I won't let him win. We'll beat him, for as long as we are still alive, he hasn't won." Hendrick said confidently, he had full confidence in their abilities to be able to defeat this ******* once and for all. He took off his jacket and ripped some of the fabric free to bandage up the scratches she had made. When he was done he took his stele and drew a healing rune on her arm. As he put his stele away he looked her in her eyes. Her haunted eyes, she was trembling on her feet and he knew it wasn't from the cold. Asking her whether or not she was alright was pointless she clearly wasn't and she needed help, he went over it all in his head, they had been distant to her, because they didn't understand.... She had been all alone in this fight, when she needed them they had abandoned her.... Emotions played across his face as he came to this conclusion. "I won't let that happen, Roxanne... It's gonna be alright, I promise..." He picked his words carefully and needed to control his voice. He looked at her, his face betraying all the turmoil inside of him as he spread his arms. "Do you need a hug, Roxi? Or is there anything else you need?" He asked her, not having dealt with anything at all like this before. No he had purposefully avoided it by going on mission after mission so there wouldn't be any time to think, to feel hurt, Aethelrick didn't always accompany him because he lacked the same sentiment. The broken girl in front of him only revealed the damage behind the walls he had put up. He really didn't like it, but as the oldest of this Institute he had also been picked as caretaker, no matter what Brianne said or did as the head, for some reason, he still needed to look after all of them.... And he was lacking the necessary skills to do it. And he had managed to avoid it until now, he wanted to run away to avoid getting caught in this, but he couldn't...
"Well only to say we're leaving at the very least." Alastar said as Treasa did agree with him to try and talk to Veera and he chuckled at her remark of her insidious hate of all things man, well nearly all things, he was an exception to the rule but only because he was her Uncle atleast that's what he thought was the case. Alastar had gone back while Treasa grabbed some wood to make new arrows, while he was here he decided to grab some wood, liking the idea of setting something on fire right now, a fire was just so homely so he dragged bag some wood and without paying too much attention to the conversation that went on and discussed him. So he was a beast then? Wow not scoring any points there Derrick he merely thought. Veera seemed to be more observant and have figured out part of the deal with him and Treasa, well right now it hardly mattered as Alastar built himself a fire. When he was done and the flames were blazing he looked at the Crow who was still out cold, just to be sure he watched more closely and he still saw the old man's chest move as he breathed, nothing to worry about. The witcher sat down by his fire. "You're not exactly wrong, Veera" Alastar admitted "Something did happen, not going to explain since it doesn't matter anyways. It happened, nothing to be done about it anymore." Alastar had caught her saying that she was just pushing people away before they hurt her, like she apparantly had done herself. "I may not have an as pretty face as you, Derrick, but that doesn't mean I am a beast. I may fight differently from you, doesn't mean I'm a beast. So tell me what makes me a beast in your eyes?" He left out a remark regarding Derrick's vanity, no need to throw more oil on the fire. "Say, does the Crow always sleep that peacefully?" Alastar asked Veera, as he looked at her he saw the damage to her armour. These three had been through hell and had come back. He ignored the earlier comment about Derrick wondering about Olivia, after all if she were a witcher as he had claimed she'd be fine.
Hendrick had noted the newcomer, but didn't say much as Brianne took over. She had ignored his remarks well no matter as long as she had heard them so she could reflect on them later, she told him to go after Roxanne and did as he was asked, this time around, but she had a lead this didn't stop Hendrick from going to try and track her down. The older shadowhunter followed his younger companion, but at a lot slower pace. Eventually he caught up to her finding her under a bridge her fingernails digging into her sides and stomach. He went over to her. "Roxi, come on, don't do that to yourself. It won't do you any good, Brianne is still busy, if we go to the Institute maybe we can find a way to help you and Nick banish Slavko to whatever hellhole he comes from." Hendricks voice was gentle, and he held a hand outstretched to drag her to her feet and as an invitation to come along with him. "And Roxi open your eyes, Mrs. grumpypants may be harsh on you sometimes but she'll miss you when you're dead, just like the Old man would...." Hendrick said in a response to the last thing she had said before leaving them at the police station.
Rayyad suddenly stopped and explained there was someone at the main gate. Someone who might be one of their companions, if it were it would be Kara. If not then it could be anyone. "I agree with Tessa, just keep her there until we can get back there to look for ourselves, we can't just go back now to check." He told Rayyad, he caught Tessa biting her lower lip as she considered it would be Kara. "If it's Kara, she'll get pissed, but that'll blow over. After all it's merely to keep her safe, after all it's dangerous out here. What would happen if she ran into one of those spiders and no one would be there to help. No, we should protect her from herself." He told them sure protecting them from getting hurt too badly was one side of his reasoning the other was settling a score with the girl for her remarks and actions on the carriage, Conrad smiled, oh this was gonna be good.
Alastar merely watched Treasa rage on as the tree took the assault like a champ. "Didn't think you would and I'm not asking that Treas." Alastar said his voice gentle. Her face was stained with tears. "Hush, Treasa, it's alright." He said as he got up and folded his arms around the girl for a moment, letting go when she did. "No, my dear girl, you shouldn't have, you made it out because your will to live was strong enough. Men like him are only the vocal minority, most peasants especially in the smaller villages have a sense of decency. You've seen it for yourself, remember Oreton?" He asked her "And Treas the men that did that to you are all not part of this world anymore." He knew where she kept the dagger and grasped it, the blade in his fist, holding it hilt out to her it was her reminder of strength. "Treas, I know it ain't much, but I'm always watching over you. You know maybe you should talk to Veera, maybe she can help you." He wasn't the best for dealing with these issues, though he always tried to make the effort to help her. Sigmund's face showed a friendly smile when Matilda explained why Gregory was there and apologised for the fuss he was making and said it was alright, it was to be expected. Sigmund went upstairs and softly pushed the door of the guestroom open, he found his guests sleeping in each other's arms. Ah young love... he remembered his younger days, from an age long past. He decided the wounds were to be looked at immediatly, since it had already been too long because of their journey. He silently closed the door again and went back down to go get Matilda, then back up again and knocked loud enough to wake his guests up. "Seth, Tessa, there is a doctor here to look at your injuries." He waited for either of them to open the door eventhough it was his own house. The Witchhunters eyed Lord Bramwell "We know who you are, no need for all that crap of yours. You were expected follow me." One of them said as he lead them through the gate, small village, another gate and into the keep where the new ruler of Crow's Perch sat in front of his fireplace, he had sent out men to riled up more and more of the surrounding villages, despite Archon's Doppler culling they would not be denied. As Villagers kept on flocking to his banner. "Spit it out and cut the crap." Milosh stated not caring who was in front of him, eventhough he knew full well.
Hendrick merely stared Brianne into her eyes unflinchingly as she tossed the blade into the air and shoved it towards him. He countered quickly and with the normal strength, sending a grimace across his face, taking hold off the blade, deactivating it and putting it's hilt at his side. Being the head of the Institute didn't make you an exception to criticism. She told him he was free to resign from watching her back if he wanted to when they were back at the Institute. "Oh no, you ain't getting rid of me that easily." His tone sharp. "As you said you need someone to watch your back, it ain't gonna be Roxanne, so I'll gladly accept that responsibility, after all I need someone to watch my own back as well and it ain't gonna be Nick, Roxanne or that brother of yours." He helped Brianne clean up the wolves, glancing over his shoulder to watch Roxanne go, who hadn't thought much of their criticism. She had said that they didn't care if she were dead. She nor Brianne saw that his criticism was also a way to watch their backs. "So it was Rhett who had been attacked... how is he?" His earlier fears had been confirmed by this, as for Paragon going after Grayson and in her eyes still demanding his respect? Oh no, you didn't abandon your allies in the middle of a fight. And if she had already gotten pissy with him over his riticism of saving Rhett, he couldn't wait for when he told her what had happened back in Prague, part of him silently hoped she had forgotten about his offer for an explanation, but he had made a promise and would keep it. "Paragon, will get my respect when he deserves it, you don't abandon your allies to go after a priority target, no matter how high the priority." Hendrick stated, having calmed down from his outburst but there was still venom in his voice. With the last wolf remains set alight, he looked at Brianne. "Come on, we should go. If the Clave is gonna give us **** for breaking the Accords, I'll take the responsibility, you still got potential to rise through the ranks, shame to throw it away. My carreer has already been shot out of the sky so it can take the hit." Hendrick said, he knew full well what he was asking her to do, lying to the Clave, it was a risk in his eyes worth taking.
