Wilkin chuckled mockingly at Koldo's remark "While the powers to use on someone's mind are certainly effective and powerful in their own right, doesn't mean I'm not looking after myself or admire the beauty of a good sword fight." Wilkin said, gesturing to the Rapier that had been strapped to his right hand side. "Nice of you to join us." Wilkin said as Lexander and Damion joined them. Koldo gave out the orders and made a threat as to what would happen "Promises, Koldo, promises..." Was all Wilkin said as he jogged ahead, to go and try look for help, even going as far as quite convincingly call out for help.
"Good, get them manned and properly adjusted." The Ancient God said "As for the machine guns, I want two teams of two have them work in a proper teams one firing one standby, unless they truly start pushing, they are not to fire simultaneously so continuous fire can be achieved. I want one team on that wall directed to the hills, the other on standby for deployment. Deploy the men around the perimeter, schwerpunkt at the quadrant with the hills, looser deployments around. Varraki, find yourself a good spot. Spread the engineers and officers evenly, have the officers ditch anything that gives away their rank. Iron wing, deploy to your positions, David, go make yourself bloody useful." Zahariel ordered the people around, he himself would find a good spot to oversee the battle and give additional orders if need be, his voice would help with this a lot. The Ironwing deployed to their designated positions with the LMG's on the outer sides of the hill quadrant, LAW in the middle between them, rifles at even distances dividing the camp into quadrants between them. The Andaran Prince listened attentively as the Ancient God quickly dished out orders, he had been given some leniency as to where he would be position while on top of the wall would be a nice place as a vantage point but it would be so obvious, and while there was wreckage outside the perimeter it was too far out to make a good position with enough options to run if need be. Instead he found himself a position near one of the barricades, by the hill quadrant already watching like a silent sentinel ready to strike down those who he saw.
The Ifrit merely stood by as the Warlock and the Fae sorted some things within their group."No questions then? Very well. If you would follow me." The Ifrit said as he started to walk off, leading the group towards their destination, as he did one of the group came to him, also a warlock and asked him about his horns. "Indeed I do, my friend, and I have been able to hide them with Lady Gaia's help, she provided me with a glamour in return for my service." Shadi said with a friendly smile, there was no reason for him not to. "What sort of things have you tried to hide them?" The Ifrit asked the warlock. After a short walk through the jungle the group lead by Shadi arrived at a clearing within the majestic jungle, surrounding the clearing were houses that had grown into the trees.
Character name: Shadi Sands Age: 1623 Gender: Male Race: Ifrit Appearance: A pair of grey coloured Owl eyes, black medium long straight hair, tan skin tone, stocky build. Has a pair of Ossicones on his head, he wears a loose fitting white robes Backstory: Seti was born in an age long since past, old enough to have seen the fall of the Western Roman Empire, had he been around the area. He wasn't an ordinairy child as an Ifrit he was born from a human and a demon, sadly he drew the short straw and didn't get any of the magical abilities that generally come with this combo, and thus began the life of Shadi Sands the Ifrit. With little in the way of magic to protect him Shadi started to train in the use of arms, particularly the Khopesh, wielding two of the shortswords simultaneously. He hired himself out as a mercenary to provide himself with coin to get glamours to hide his unusual appearance, something that at a young age he was ashamed of. The Ifrit caught the eye of a particularly powerful individual when he was out on a job, this powerful individual made him an offer all he had to do was swear his undying loyalty to them, and in return he would get glamours to masque himself and a safe place to stay as Shadi had had the habit of ending up in the worst places because of his mercenary path. Shadi agreed and then pledged his services to this individual, serving as a scout and warrior. Weapons: A pair of Khopesh Secondary: A Shotel Magic: N/A Other: Shadi has a pair of Ossicones sprouting from the top of his skull and Owl eyes
His axe bit into the creature's side and the beast tried to snap at his arm with it's beak, the arm got caught in the vicegrip of the beast's beak. He roared in pain as he could feel something snap in the arm and was about to go berserk on the beast with his axe as it realeased, the result of some massive blast. The beasts took off and Alastar didn't know what to think of it. The basilisks ran so something serious must have been happening. When his rage started to subside the pain started to increase. He was nearly certain it was broken he used one of his throwing axes to cut off a pair of straight branches and then tried to set the bone using the two branches to splint the arm, when he was done he looked to Olivia "You alright?" He asked her then looked around "We should go before they come back..." Tobias had already seen the small group of people that had entered the city, while there were a few necrophages following them around in the fog, they had no reason to attack them atleast not in Tobias' eyes. However what one of his other crows had seen, an army and the intent had been made clear when the one rider had moved forward towards the city. He couldn't exactly blame the pesky humans for wanting their city back. He could feel the sentiment of the Scoia'tael now. He had finally given his children a home and they were already coming to flush them out. Well they would have to root them all out then preparations were being made, the gates had been closed and barred, rotfiends had dug in, his three Bullvores were preparing munitions and making sure the gates had been barred properly by stacking large pieces of rubble against them. Ghouls formed up and drowners patrolled the murky waters around the city, grave hags were moving to their designated positions. Today would be a long and hard day, as his people worked Tobias decided to approach the strangers visiting the city himself, keeping his cadre of Graveir guards with him as he approached them, these would hide in the fog just out of sight, ready to jump into the fight if need be. "Greetings strangers, what brings you here?" Tobias inquired.
Aethelrick waltzed through New York back to the safe house where he found Ash, Morrigan, Masque and Valister, he figured Cyrus was still there as well, but he didn't go to check on him, given what happened last time when he did. With the portal in place, the warlock and fae went through first with a second warlock in tow, then Valister went through and then Sien, Aethel followed through himself ending up in a jungle that appeared out of nowhere. After him Alarick and Nick passed through and the portal disappeared again. He did a quick headcount, all 8 of them were there in front of a ninth person who was looking at a pocket watch. Shadi had received his orders from the Queen, given a time and place as to where they would arrive, he looked at his pocket watch mentally counting down as the clockhand for seconds slowly ticked away... three... two... one... Exactly at the time that she had told told him the portal opened and the first two people arrived, exactly on time as always. He still found it mind boggling, even after all these years, that she could tell him the exact time and place of such things. When the portal closed Shadi put the pocket watch away and spoke up "Welcome to Somalia, it is good to see you all arrived safely. She knew you were coming here, if you would follow me, I shall lead you to her." The Ifrit said, his pair of grey eyes surveying the people before him, the pair of ossicones rising up between his black hairs, like mountain peaks above the clouds, they must have plenty of questions for him. Aethelrick didn't know what to say to the bloke who was receiving them here in Somalia, wait the person they decided to come look for knew they would arrive exactly here and now? Well **** that was impressive, unless he was bullshiting them. I mean it wasn't too great a leap to think someone could see events before they occured in a world where portals existed and demons invaded this world. But that would require tremendous amounts of power wouldn't it? He wondered if he had made a mistake coming here, someone wielding much power was not to be triffled with...
"Maybe the totem is interfering with your ability to detect people?" Conrad offered up as explanation for him not being able to detect the last two members of their group. Well only one was a part of the group, but he didn't know about this Arval bloke. It was suggested that they'd go and destroy the totem "Sounds like a plan as for running, come to Tyrrus with us, we're at war with Hirokir so I highly doubt you'd be handed over like that. And hey we got you covered." Conrad said the uncertainty hearable in his voice, pissing off the government of another nation didn't seem like a very bright idea, much less when he didn't even know the capabilities of said government. But he had been a soldier, sworn to protect and while he had left the army, they could never take that part of him away from him, duty came first. Ulrich nodded "Luring them out it is then." He said softly. "Do it, if need be I can help out as well." Ulrich said taking the towershield from his back and reading his flail, time for some vengeance against the drakes, this one may have been the one to attack his home, but he couldn't be sure about it. He was ready to assist Lyra with heating the ground. Baldomar had been pilfering through the pockets of the bandits not finding too much that was useful but he now was the proud owner of a new mana giving amulet and a wizard's hat. He wouldn't need the Wizard's hat, but hey he could always sell the thing later. Then some creepy bloke(looking at you Badun) approached him and asked what he knew about Kellan and complimented him on his combat prowess. "Why thank you, I can't say the same about you though." Baldomar said "As for Kellan, he's an alright bloke, city folk, yes, but atleast not too unbearable. Anyways we should go like aston said." With that Baldomar stalked off after Aston.
Aethel handed Felicia the liverwurst. "Oh I think he knows I'm here, there's very few people who would want to be brought into contact with Cyrus in that manner." Aethel said, he had noticed that Sien, Alarick and Nick had left. "Fair enough" Was all he said about her plans. He went after them as quickly as he possibly could, following at a distance, given the direction they had taken he figured the might be headed for the safehouse. He figured the Institute was in safe hands with the manpower currently placed there, plus he wouldn't be of much use there. He recalled a mention of a trip somewhere? Was this it? Well at first he had said he wouldn't join them, but after the fight with Cyrus... No, he might as well go along with them, if Cyrus stuck around then the experienced hands would be divided between the two groups, not a bad idea. And it would give him some time to think, he hadn't at all expected it to turn out this way, then again nothing ever went according to plan... he thought back of Prague, that was a plan that went fubar rather quickly. While he was reminiscing about times long gone, Alarick and Nick had slipped away. What the? Where had they gone? No matter, he had heard some stories about Alarick, he would handle himself perfectly fine in the field, he decided to close the gap with Sien and walked next to him "Come on, we should just keep on going, they'll catch up." Aethel said as he urged Warlock along. "The name is Aethelrick, Aethel for short, what's yours?"
The former soldier listened to Laurentinus' account of their story. "Doesn't matter who had the biggest adventure, now does it Ren? We're all alive and well." He responded, Lumen the bloke who had been sleeping throughout the carriage ride asked something but Rayyad was taking care of it. "We haven't seen Shyra or this other man you speak of. Rayyad how extensive are those caves leading here, you know the long route you mentioned?" Conrad asked him, if it wasn't too bad they could try and search for them. When Kara explained what happened with the spider that had taken him captive and Laurentinus asked his question regarding others, he noted how Tessa stepped forward in front of Rayyad and everything would seem to be ready to come to blows as Kara moved closer to Tessa to intervene if necessary, it seemed to be under control, but Conrad did take a pair of steps forward, standing next to Tessa, leaving a gap through, which Rayyad could be seen, he didn't quite match the visible drive to defend Rayyad that Tessa showed, but he himself would raise his sword as he had told them. "Tessa, please, calm down. It's alright." He said, his tone mostly calm, with undertones that reflected the tension that was in the air, as he to help Kara defuse the situation. "Statue? You mean that thing?" He asked jerking his head in the direction of the totem he had dropped earlier. Ulrich walked with Chuck the guard who asked about his arm. "Why? I don't know, I don't make much fuss about it, it's just another arm, not made of flesh and blood like yours, but an arm all the same. Lost my other arm and part of my leg in an incident not to dissimilar to this bloody mess." Ulrich told Chuck, and Lyra soon after they arrived at the forge, wait weren't they going to the armoury? "Hey, Chuck I thought we were going to the armoury? Actually... nevermind... you got any ranged weapons? Hit them from afar before closing in and taking them out?" Ulrich asked in a hushed voice. "What about you? You got anything? If we don't, we could either draw their attention, by throwing a little stone to make some noise, ambush them when they're close or we move in closer, what do you say?" He asked Sebastion about the weaponry and both of his compatriots about the plan.
A lot happened, Brianne going ballistic for example and storming out of the room, seeing Clarity and Alarick went after her he didn't go. He had to wonder though, what had caused her to react like that? Well that was being taken care of and well there were people more quallified and who knew her better to look after her, no matter how curious he was. Rhett didn't seem to understand the simply idea for protection relied on you physicly being there to protect the person. Rhett also mentioned bigger fish to fry, bigger problems than the Inquisitor? Well that wasn't really his problem now was it? He would worm his way out if he did get caught up in it. Aethel listened attentively to Felicia's narration of what had happened. The gaps were filled in and he now had a full account of what had been going on. "He'll come back for me, I can practicly guarantee it, Felicia." Aethel said "But I don't need the protection, I can take care of myself. Pick my time to fight given the chance. Run, hide, it'll be fine." He told her, the offer she made Rhett wasn't a very great plan and the wolf declined it, Aethel only smiled a little at this, was she new to being Alpha? everyone fought for their place, merging the packs would see a good bit of conflict as they established the new order within the pack before everything would run smoothely. Rhett disappeared and he was left with Felicia, realising he still had the liverwurst in hand he cut of a small piece of it for himself to snack on, before offering some to Felicia "You want some?" He asked politely "So what will you do now? I mean I appreciate the offer for protection but I can handle myself keeping myself around you lot will only give you more trouble than it's worth." He said, knowing full well that she might be pissy with him over his little outburst earlier, then again that wasn't anger at all atleast not intended to be, merely stating cold hard facts.
So his ideas had finally been recognised for their genius. Wilkin did his own thing and the next morning returned to Koldo to learn that they were going to use a portal to get there. "Can't argue with that. Though a little bit of physical exercise might be good for you, Koldo." Wilkin said with a grin on his face. "I'm sure the intern will be convincing, otherwise we shall remind him what happens when it comes to failure." The young man said, as he then followed Koldo through the portal without another word keeping his pack with him, he had made sure he looked the weary traveller on the run from Titans the best he could, he didn't exactly enjoy looking like a vagrant, but what had to be done had to be done.
The old Crow watched Tatiana execute the little routine. Each and every time she executed it went better, it was a rathe simple routine. Then his medallion vibrated... he looked around no monsters nearby that he could see... so magic? Did that mage have the audacity to come back here directly? After a few moments something unusual carried over to him, a smell... but that meant.... the smell slowly got stronger... his Medalion vibrated again, the Crow knew what was to come. He saw Tatiana's horrified look at him as he brought up the active quen shield in an attempt to shield himself when the explosion came... The force of the explosion hit the shield and Veceslav gritted his teeth in an attempt to hold it, but he knew it was no use. The shield faltered as the blastwave passed, though the witcher wasn't out of the fire yet as sharp stones pierced his armour, pieces of wood flew into him. The old witcher collapsed, bleeding from a dozen wounds. He knew it was over, there was no one there... and potions wouldn't cut it.... He had always known that his end would be alone, never thought it would come like this... With whatever will he had left he dragged himself towards a piece of what would have been the structure's walls... the sun on his face, he looked at the stone shard embedded in his chest tried to pull it out, knowing full well it would only accelerate his end. Pain shot through him as he tried to remove the chunk, failing at it he let it go. He wrapped his hands around his Medallion hoping to reach out one last message to Veera. He swallowed... hard, blood trickling from his mouth "V-veera....I'm sorry.." He said softly and with great difficulty, coughing up blood as he did. He didn't know if the message would pull through. He took hold of a flask of White Raffard's taking one last glance at Tatiana and then closed his eyes. He saw Master Silas as he taught Veceslav how to lead, he saw his friend, Ramiro of the Viper School, who taught the crow his way around Alchemy more than the wolves ever could. He saw himself stand beside Sigmund as they were putting another group of people through the Trial of the Grasses. He saw himself look after Derrick when he had just arrived and like so many others wanted to go home and sitting by his side as he was subjected to the Trials. He saw himself training with Aaron, to improve his footwork. He saw himself sitting by Veera's side, waiting for her to wake up after the Trials of the Grasses, those were some difficult hours, to see if the subjects would pull through or not and she was the last of her group. And lastly he saw himself in Oxenfurt amidst the chaos being re-united with his lost scions... The witcher's heart stopped beating as his soul left his body... Judging by the annoyed screech of the beast his attack had landed. As did the creature itself, trying to attack him while he was down the coward! Then again animals knew aggresion they didn't understand the concept of cowardice. Alastar pulled the leg the beast was going for back and used the other one to deliver a boot to it's face. After that the witcher scrambled to his feet again, with the beast up-close it was time to get up-close and personal answering it's screeches with a bear-like roar as he brought the silver coated axe down diagonally and used his free gauntleted hand to follow up with a fist.
While raiding the fridge he looked around to see for something to snack on, dinner would have to wait for now, well at this rate it would probably classify as a midnight snack. He found some liverwurst and confiscated it for quality inspection, taking a bite out of it he decided to see where the hell everyone else was, not that he was gonna share that thing, well okay he found in their fridge so he would share it with the other Nephilim. He found the others quickly enough and saw it had gotten a whole lot busier in here. "Well then, it would appear it has gotten rather crowded over here.." Aethel said to no one in particular. He took note of all the people in the room, knew the significant ones with the exception of one, which was Nick, but there was time for that later. He decided to be rude once more and mix himself into the conversation between Rhett and Felicia, the latter of which said she was gonna leave on a promise of dealing with the big I, well of course the Inquisitor would be dealt with. "No worries, wolfie, I promise I'll take care of it, after all it's kinda my fault he's after you in the first place. And it would be rather convenient for me as well were he out of the equation." Aethel said, in a rather light tone, forgetting he still had that liverwurst in his hand.
The old Crow watched her readjust the grip and prepare for the strike, she tried to do a jab him, he used his sword to easily parry the strike. "Again." The crow instructed, the jab wasn't a bad place to start. After she had jabbed again, he once again parried and asked her to do so again, and again passed the parry. "It's a bit simple, but never underestimate a good jab." Veceslav said, then taking up position next to her "Now, just follow my example. I'll take it slow so you can follow it easily." As the Crow demonstrated a simple sword routine, both hands on the hilt, slashing downwards diagonally, twisting the blade to cut horizontally, then closing it with a jab. He demonstrated it again and then turned around as he had moved forward during the little routine. "Now you, don't worry, take it slow. Doing it right is the first priority, speed comes later." The old Crow said, keeping his eyes on Tatiana watching her perform the routine. "Come on, ugly *******. Bring it!" Alastar taunted the beast, keeping his silver axe in hand attempting to strike it as it had landed on the little mound, but it flew away before he could. The beast flew away again, circled around and came for another dive, this time tail on the ground. Alastar stood his ground silver axe in hand, body coiled to strike the beast in it's neck, As the beast dove towards him, he tried to twist out of the way, simultaneously bringing his axe upwards towards the beast's neck, however somehow the beast had figured what way he would attempt to twist, the tail crashing into his left side and while the armour did protect him from lacerations, it didn't do nearly as much for blunt impacts like this. The witcher still attempted to hit the beast with his silver axe, but was uncertain if he would as he started to feel like he was going for the dirt, roaring as he did, the anger was good, more fuel for the fight, with his rage growing and the adrenaline pumping he didn't feel too much of the wound, but it would hurt like hell after, if there was an after...
Conrad hauled the totem through the caves all the way back to Rayyad's house, he wanted to ditch the thing outside, when he saw a familiar face get out of the house. Kara seemed rather happy to see them both safe and sound. He caught the wink she gave him and returned the smile. "Good to see you too, Kitty." Conrad said "That's Rayyad, he's an alright bloke." He was blindsided by Kara hugging both him and Tessa and nearly dropped the Totem on someone's feet. Conrad thought for a moment picking his words carefully. "Well, initially it was a kidnapping... however as soon as we were here our bonds were removed and the explanation our friend gave us, was reasonable, we decided to help him out with a little problem of his. We pulled each other through the challenges and he ain't a bad guy honestly. He made a mistake, we all do that." Conrad said answering both Kara and Laurentinus' questions, the latter of which just joined them too. "We have been digging up, this thing right here." Conrad said as he jerked his head, nearly hitting it on the totem that was still on his shoulder, then it hit him, he was still carrying the damn thing. He unceremoniously dropped the thing on the stone floor, of course making sure no one's toes would be underneath it. "Say Laurentinus what have you been up to then?" The ex-soldier asked.
Aethelrick soon found the broken down doors of his parabatai's room. It was a garden, well then Cyrus getting busy here, not that different from the past, Cyrus was always busy. There were obvious signs of a fight here, with the blood on the floor, spent shell casings laying there as well it was a mess. His stomach growled, getting all his plan in motion must have made him more hungry than he expected oh well. He loved it when a plan came together. Seeing he hadn't poked around any of Cyrus' belongings only made a quick stroll through the garden, that the Nephilim appeared to have claimed. He hadn't known Cyrus to be particularly into plants and 'erbs Look at it and despair, Relatively Sane but since he had gotten here, he started to doubt how well he actually knew Cyrus, did he take up an entirely different identity with that new name? He wondered as he walked down the stairs headed for the kitchen to raid the fridge.
Baldomar crushed the Thug's skull like one would crush a walnut. The hammer was the craftsmanship of a certain blacksmith he had in this small little village in the middle of nowhere. The other thugs died as they were supposed to and as the crossbowman tried to run from the fight but Russell killed them. The Pyromancer tried to crawl away but Baldomar wasn't having any of that, walking after him, letting the pyromancer slowly crawl away from the victorious group. Not making an aweful lot of speed, not in a haste to kill the Pyromancer. "Go on, you can get away, I'm sure of it." The barbarian said as he kept on walking, after the Pyromancer "Just kidding." He finally said as he turned the Pyromancer on his back, placed his left foot on the chest and then brought down the hammer on the skull of the pyromancer, crushing it. With that out of the way the Barbarian started to pilfer through the pockets of the dead to see if there was anything useful when Aston asked if anyone had any medical skills "I know some medicine. Give me a moment." The Barbarian said as he was trying to go from corpse to corpse as he tried to find anything useful.
"I do now." Was all the Crow said about her question regarding him understanding where her life would be going. As Tatiana said she was ready Veceslav told her to wait as he sent a raven with a letter to Sigmund, requesting his presence. After he had taken care of that, he found Tatiana again and lead her to the Courtyard, time to start with basic training. And he wouldn't go for training swords either. He pointed to a weapon rack "Find yourself a sword you think feels right in your hand. It's important that it's weight feels right. When you have found someone I want you to try and strike me with it, I want to see what you know first. Don't worry, I'll parry. First lesson, stick them with the pointy end." Veceslav said as he drew his own sword, even if he didn't parry, he was certain that he could either evade or take the hits. Sigmund wasn't paying too much attention to the people that came into his room as he cleaned up the failed experiment. She mentioned going to get Talon and needing a way to defend herself. "Very well, there is a good blacksmith down the street from here. I'll lend you some Crowns, since you said it yourself I expect you to repay me." The old Mage said "Joris!" Sigmund called, a servant came over "Yes, Master Sigmund?" Joris was one of his most loyal servants, been in his service the longest, practicly master of the house in absence of the lord. "Bring Tessa enough crowns to acquire a proper dagger." Joris nodded "As you wish." The Servant went to get the gold and handed it over to Tessa "Anything else?" The servant asked "No that'll be all, thank you, Joris." The mage said "Anything else? Tessa? Seth? Matilda?"
Conrad still disagreed with the plan to heal the spider but just let it happen, if this was going to bite them in the ass, it wasn't on him, no wait they'd probably still blame him for not speaking up. No matter, Rayyad was talking to the spiders, telling them to calm down didn't he say he didn't have any power over them or was he just confused about that. No matter, Tessa did what she had to do and patched up the huge Arachnid. "Well done." Conrad said, looking at the result of Tessa's handiwork, he was glad there was a skilled medic among them, he had seen quite a few people not make it because the medics either ****ed up or wasn't present at all. As they went on they quickly stumbled on the Totem as Rayyad suggested he should carry it. "Yes, yes, working on it." The soldier said as he walked over to the totem and wrapped his arms around it trying to lift it and have it rest on his shoulder so it would be easier to carry and move about.
The flight towards the encampment went off without a hitch. When they landed the God gave a few quick gestures to the members of the Ironwing, and told Varraki to come with him. "Well met Lieutenant Corenna." Zahariel said, not returning the salute. For two reasons, first and foremost because of battlefield protocol, second he wasn't an army officer strictly speaking. "What preperations were made, Lieutenant?" He asked "Give me the details of your positions, as for the permission to attend the defence of your camp, you insult me with such a remark, I don't need your permission" The Ancient God adressed the Lieutenant. "Now tell me, what intel do we have on their strengths and what can you tell me about the terrain?" He hoped this commander was atleast semi-decent at his job and could provide him with more information to mount the defence, holding static positions was hard enough, but he trusted in his Ironwing to hold together the other soldiers as their lines would be tested.
