The unbroken gaze
I gaze into the depths
There a shadow lies
Ever piercing me
A shallow gloom amidst the rain
Of sparkling inky blue
Ringed with black as if in a cage
but that does not break my gaze,

through the fog of mornings wrath
you shine forth and clear my mind
of worry and woe
when the light becomes to strong
a dark does steady me to see
what life and love truly are

now into mask less life i stare
and pierce its soul like it did mine
but there’s no shadow any more
rather now there’s light instead
light that once was mine
for now we share this light
and both do gaze unblinkingly

until the end
they cannot hide
your wisdom, your heart,
your eyes
