As if on cue, more Lance Soldiers appeared. This time, Ananta was ready for them, so she hopped into action. Swinging her keyblade downwards, she took one of the Lance Solders by surprise. The heartless fell over, causing dust to puff around Ananta and the other heartless. Coughing, Ananta stood up and tried to clear her lungs of all the dust that she inhaled by accident. "Stupid heartless, I'm gonna get you for that, you know!" she said, kicking the heartless that was knocked out in front of her. Looking up, Ananta saw that the other heartless were unaffected. They simply stood there and gazed at her, as if waiting on her to attack next. Once her eyes met theirs, they started running around erratically. Turning to look at them, trying not to take her eyes off of them too much, Ananta got a little confused and shook her head. Managing to squeeze by an attack from one of the heartless, she fell back onto her bottom. A lance was pointed at her face immediately, startling Ananta. Gulping, she scooted back and rolled backwards onto her feet. Standing ready, she held her keyblade in position. Her hat had fallen off in the confusion, but it was close by. Moving a piece of hair that had fallen in over her face, she licked her lips ready.

The same heartless that pointed it's lance at Ananta was the first to rush forward. The other one, that wasn't still on the ground and knocked out, was running around. Ananta parried and blocked many attacks from this heartless before she was able to get the upper hand and stab it with her keyblade. It disappeared in a puff of darkness and soon, it's lance followed with it. Huffing and gasping for air, Ananta could still feel some dust in her lungs. Coughing hard, she felt like she could breath better now. Lucky for her considering the other heartless finally ran towards Ananta. Hopping over the heartless, she slammed her keyblade into the back of its head. The Lance Soldier's helmet flopped forward a little and caused it to drop the lance and try to fix the helmet. Ananta looked at how goofy it was and laughed, casually stabbing the heartless with her keyblade and watching it disappear into black smoke. From behind, Ananta heard the shuffling of armor as the previously knocked out heartless was standing. It stumbled over to Ananta slowly, soon meeting it's end just like the others. Stabbing her keyblade into the ground, Ananta smiled widely.

Gazing at the sky, she saw the stars were beginning to shine as the sky was slowly fading into night. Orange streaked the sky and reminded Ananta of Kross. She was reminded of his eyes and how beautiful they were when the light shone in them. Those gentle eyes of his brought a smile to Ananta's face as she sat down and laid back to rest. The was Kross talked, always careful with his words, it made Ananta happy. He was the nicest person she had ever met. She never wanted to lose his friendship. Thinking about Kross reminded her that the others were around here somewhere as well. "I hope they're able to sit back and relax as often as I am, these darn heartless take forever to come back." she said, closing her eyes. "I wonder if the others on other worlds are doing okay? Things were hectic at that theme park world we were in. Especially after everything before that with Master Yen Sid..." she frowned, opening her eyes and sighing deeply.

It has been 1000 years since Ananta took the position of Sage on Crystallis. In those 1000 years, she continued to live and birth children who went on to do great things. However, she has made some controversial decisions and now has lost favor with many of the current citizens. Be it a person whose family are angry at how she was unable to save their family member 200 years ago or someone who is jealous of her longevity, many people wish her reign would end and a new Sage would take over.

700 years ago, she ordered Crystal Points to be built at certain points around the perimeter of Central Crystarium to relay a shield that surrounded the city and protect it from Crystites. Any outlying cities or settlements were given a Crystal Point to create a small shield to protect them, but they are starting to become ineffective due to them not being maintained as well as the ones surrounding Central Crystarium.

300 years ago, a tower was built to surround the Mother Crystal. It was dubbed the Crystaline Tower. The Crystites were and are still a growing threat to Central Crystarium, so it was decided to try and protect the Mother Crystal with the tower and allowing people to make their own towns inside the tower with no supervision from the cities own military. Now, the tower is crawling with Crystites that are being maintained by those living within the tower.

Atop the Mother Crystal, floating and chained to the tower below, is where the Sages are now living. Before, they lived in their respective districts. Once things started getting dangerous, they were all moved to their new homes atop the Mother Crystal, where they stay and interact with one another and a select few from the academies. Some say the "Sages' Landing", as it's called now by those below, is the 100th floor of the tower.

If one were to make it to the top, who knows what would happen. Many have tried and failed, now making stories and myths that may or may not be true. Those who are brave enough to climb the Crystaline Tower and make it to the Sages' Landing are supposedly awarded with a wish...

In this day and age, the people of Crystallis have found that they each are able to create a weapon from the crystals around their necks. They are simply called "Crystal Weapons". Each weapon is unique to their owners and no two weapons are alike. There may be similar weapons, but they all are different and are able to channel the wielder's magic of choice. If two people were to combine their weapons, who knows what kind of power would come from it, although it is rather uncommon that two weapons can be combined in the first place.

Within the Light Sage District, there is an academy where students from any district or city, who has shown they are capable of summoning a Crystal Weapon, may enroll and learn to use their Crystal Weapons properly. The academy is named Crystallinus. Students who attend Crystallinus may choose to live on campus at the girls and boys dorms or commute from their homes. At this academy, a student is expected to go through 7 years of learning and training, one day able to summon and use their Crystal Weapons with ease. While it is not often, people living outside of Central Crystarium may enroll in this academy, but they usually seen as unclean and are mocked by many students and citizens of Central Crystarium. This is why it has been normal for many students whose hometown is outside of Central Crystarium, to lie about their upbringing. The only ones that know they are from an outlying town are the students themselves and the administrators of the academy.

Those who have graduated from Crystallinus are given the opportunity to either return to their towns or help defend Central Crystarium from Crystites. Crystites are formed when a person has a tainted crystal and does not try to change their ways in hopes of redeeming themselves. Once a crystal has been tainted enough, there is no way to return them to their original state. They are either condemned to wander outside of Central Crystarium or are thrown into the Crystaline Tower. For a long time, the Crystites were kept under control, but they have started to grow in threat. Their leaders have successfully been trapped within the Crystaline tower, but many people are fearful that they will one day break free and escape from the tower. So far, there has been no signs that this will occur.

Somewhere on Crystallis, it is said that there is a Crystal Weapon that is able to combine with any other Crystal Weapon. Although this is merely myth, people are hopeful that this individual will come forth and finally defeat Ananta. This person will reign in a new era of peace and finally put everyone at ease.

The beginning of this story will take place on the first floor of The Crystaline Tower, where there are some freshly graduated students wandering around and trying to conquer the tower.

Each district is governed by a Sage who controls a certain magical category. The residents of these districts are usually taught their respective magic and are expected to go into a field where they continue to use their magic to help the city and towns of Crystallis.

Life Sage District - Ananta is the Sage of this district. She is able to revive and treat wounds with relative ease, making her a formidable opponent. She is also able to use some elements of the other districts, but this is only because she has lived so long and has taken liberty of this.
    • Healing magic - Cure, Esuna, Raise etc. etc.
    • Death magic - Death, doom, poison etc. etc.
Mana Sage District - Manisha is the Sage of this district. She is able to create tall buildings with the help of her acolytes as well as create smaller buildings on her own. She has also shown that she is able to manipulate the environment with ease, distorting creations and other objects with little effort.
    • Manipulation magic - They can change their surroundings to work better for them. Example: creating a doorway to pass through a wall or closing off an entrance.
    • Creation magic - Able to create entire buildings when working in great numbers. When alone, they can make small things to do work for them or to serve a purpose.
Nature Sage District - Suma is the Sage of this district. She is able to bend the ground beneath her and move it to her advantage. For the past 76 years, she has been maintaining a steady flow of food to the rest of the districts through her fields and animals that she maintains.
    • Natural magic - Earth, Water, Aero etc. etc.
    • Animal companions - Residents are able to summon their own animals for company or to help them perform tasks such as hunting or farming.
Illusion Sage District - Elakshi is the Sage of this district. She is able to deceive many opponents and is the main reason that Ananta is still liked by so many people. It is even said that she manipulated the memory of Ananta's own children at some point.
    • Deception magic - Can create copies of oneself to confuse the enemy or create illusions to force the enemy to go the wrong way.
    • Memory magic - This magic is dangerous and is only known to those who can be trusted. Users of this magic can give people fake memories or alter current memories to better suit their needs. Once a memory is altered, it can never be recovered unless it is first extracted and placed in a Recorder Crystal.
Enchantment Sage District - Chandrani is the Sage of this district. She has helped the people of Central Crystarium for many years, helping even those who live outside of the city. She shows no discontent with anyone, trying to stay within the people's favor and keeping the peace between other districts.
    • Enchant tools - These people are able to give tools and weapons special abilities or attributes to help them do the job faster.
    • Buffs and debuffs - Residents are able to buff themselves and their allies to allow them to perform tasks better. They are also able to restrict their enemies and hinder their ability to fight or work.
Time Sage District - Bela is the Sage of this district. She watches over the entire world and attempts to keep things in order. She does her best to keep things following the correct timeline. She chooses to indirectly influence the timeline, and so far, this has worked out swimmingly. She can see what her actions will do to the future, but she cannot see what actions she will be performing to change the timeline. As such, she never speaks about the future to any other person, for fear of tainting the timeline.
    • Time magic - Stop and slow. Using this magic on allies can have some very adverse side effects, so it is taboo to perform this magic on people. If one is found to use their stop or slow magic on another person, they are executed with no chance to appeal.
    • Rewind time - This magic is reserved to undo mistakes performed by allies or to prevent an object from breaking. The max limit a person or object can be rewound is 10 minutes.
Destruction Sage District - Swara is the Sage of this district. She tends to fight the Crystites more than help the world, but she does not abandon her duties. When the need rises, she appears to give her own thoughts to the enemy, noting each weakness that she can find. She is a formidable opponent.
    • Elemental magic - Fire, Blizzard, Thunder etc. etc.
    • Scan - Residents are able to quickly assess what the weakness of their enemies are by carefully examining them.

The entire tower is 100 floors, although the 100th floor is actually the Sages' Landing. Each floor leading up to the next boss are the lackeys of that boss. At the level before a boss, as well as floor 1, is a town to help those who have traveled that far to rest and prepare for the harder floors above. As the party climbs the tower, they will have to combine weapons and help each other to be able to overcome the obstacles presented to them.

Hands lowered to her sides, Samsara closed her eyes and bowed her head at Dane. Samsara really messed up, she made Dane so mad that she could just tell he never wanted to talk to her again. Talk. That word echoed in her mind as she tried to think. "Maybe if I just stay quiet for awhile and not interrupt Dane...maybe he'll not find me as stupid or useless as he thinks I am." she thought, shaking her head. This idea was probably the only thing that was going to work now, seeing as Dane had walked away. Looking back up and opening her eyes, Samsara saw him step towards everyone else and ask them a question. Samsara followed him, standing beside him and staying quiet. She didn't really have an idea of what to do, so she just listened to them for now.

Although she was listening, she was also worrying about what she was going to do next. Where was she going to go if she couldn't follow Dane anymore? Sure, Samsara could still try and follow him, but right now he was just far too angry at her. He didn't even comment on her ability to heal him with darkness. Then again, he was probably more angry than caring that she was helping him. Crossing her arms, she closed her eyes again and began to think once more. This time, all she could think about were all the times she hurt people more than she helped them. Although the worst time was probably this adventure of hers. The rest of the times weren't nearly as bad, but they were still bad. Messing up was something Samsara was good at and she hated it. Every time she tried to help somebody, Samsara felt she always messed things up and now look what it's done.

First things first, they needed to find out who or what this ranger was. Samsara looked at Sherridan, with no emotion on her face. She honestly couldn't tell what to feel at this time.

"What?" Samsara said, hearing Dane's words. Why was he acting like this, she was trying to help him. She didn't know how bad this would hurt, she hadn't seen any kind of light magic used on him. How was she to know that he'd be so affected by it? For all she knew, Dane just used darkness, she didn't realize just how in tune with the darkness he was until now. Still holding his arm, healing the wound she caused and the burn mark, Samsara looked down and almost felt like crying. Tears wouldn't come, however, so she continued standing there in silence. Trying to think about what she wanted to say, Samsara finally decided on it. She was going to explain everything she'd done in hopes of trying to apologize to Dane. If that didn't work, if that didn't at least make him not as angry, she didn't know what to do. The fact of the matter is, she couldn't just stop being his student now. That would make things much harder for her in the future. So she was going to try her best at apologizing. She truly didn't want to be on Dane's bad side, she just made mistakes is all. Mistakes that she didn't know were bad.

"Everything I've done Dane...all that stuff you make out to be bad...yes they're bad." she said, gripping his arm a little tighter and increasing the darkness flow. She wanted to make sure he was completely healed and had not sustained any other injuries. "Where do I begin?" she said, looking back up at Dane. He really looked like that cure magic really hurt him, it scared her. She wasn't trying to hurt him. "Earlier I threatened you, right? I shouldn't have done that, I honestly was just frustrated that you kept getting my name wrong. But doing that wasn't something I should have done, I should have just ignored it and let you do it. I hope I didn't hurt you, Dane." she said, starting off with that. Thinking about what happened next, she took a deep breath and let it out, trying to calm herself. "And then, I tried to take Alisia. Honestly, that was really stupid of me. I knew she was your slave, I shouldn't have grabbed her and tried to walk away. She would have walked anyway, I think. So, yes, I'm sorry for that too." Samsara now had to think about what else to apologize for. Then it popped into her head. "And the cure magic that caused you so much pain? I honestly had no idea it would hurt you that much, I hadn't seen any done to you before..." she said before cutting herself off. "That doesn't excuse it though! I really should have known that it'd hurt you. I'm stupid. I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me." Samsara said, scared for what Dane was going to do next.

"I just...I don't know what to do to show you how bad I feel right now, I really don't want to make you stay mad. I really don't..." she said, hoping he was listening.

That kid with the mirror jumped away pretty dang easily. Samsara grumbled and stayed at Dane's side, not sure what to do next. This kid was pretty slippery, so they had to focus, but what can they do when he's got this stupid mirror? Standing ready to fight, Samsara was pretty surprised that Dane wanted to end the fight. Letting her keyblade down, Samsara eyed Dane and then Avi to see what they were going to do. Returning her gaze to Dane, Samsara noticed a nasty burn mark on his right forearm. Not sure what to do, Samsara moved in front of him and grabbed Dane's arm. "This looks bad...I should try something." she said, pressing a healing spell into the wound with her right hand and holding his arm with her left. As soon as she had done that, she saw the pain that it caused and immediately stopped. Freaking out a little, Samsara tried to think about what to do next. Gathering darkness into her palm, she pressed it into his wound and tried to see if that would help him any.

Samsara moved her hand away to see the wound was healed a little bit more from her attempt with darkness than with the Cure spell. Sighing in relief, she put her hand back and looked up at Dane. "I know you don't want to hear it, but I really am sorry for earlier. You know, for grabbing your collar and getting angry? That memory spell my mom put on me...it made my head all funny and I wasn't really sure what I was doing. Especially when I got angry at you. That was the worst of it, I think." she said, looking at his face directly. "I mean, I better apologize sooner rather than later, ya know?" She wasn't sure if her words were getting to Dane at all, considering he already told her to save them for somebody who cares. "Also, does this help? Sorry about the Cure, I kind of forgot that that was a bad idea...." she chuckled awkwardly. Removing her hand, the burn was now almost gone. "Just a bit longer and the burn will be gone." she said. "Get angry at me if you want for using Cure on your...I don't mind it, honestly. I'm used to people getting angry at me." she sighed deeply.

"I hope he forgives me..." she thought, swallowing hard. She really didn't want to be on Dane's bad side, she wanted to be a comrade he could count on. One he didn't feel threatened by. Especially after seeing everything and hearing his story from earlier. That left a major impact on her view of him...

"You don't remember?" she mimicked his words with a puzzled look on her face. While it isn't completely out of the ordinary to forget something, Samsara realized just how old Dane was. Over six hundred years, according to what he just told her. Whether or not he mentioned this before, she didn't quite remember. But that was shocking, knowing he'd been around for a good six hundred years. It must have been terribly lonely for him to go around and be the way he is. Especially from what she learned shortly before she regained her memories. Dane had a hard life and Samsara felt bad for him. Unfortunately, if she tried to be a good friend for him, he'd most likely try and keep her away. He didn't seem the type to keep friends close, after all.

Watching as he jumped through his tornado of flying, flaming debris, Samsara almost followed him through before she felt a sting. Looking around, she saw a green light was stretched out from her body towards Bartholomew. Grunting and falling to her knees, Samsara could feel how tired she was now. She couldn't give up, though, she had to help Dane in any way that she could. So she did the next best thing, she decided to run over and attack Avi with Dane. Perhaps if they worked together, Avi could be defeated and Dane could get rid of this tornado. Standing up, she began to make her way over towards Avi. She held her keyblade out soon was behind Avi, swinging her keyblade at him in an attempt to help Dane.

"I'm sorry Dane." she said, beginning her apology. "I mean, now's not the time I'm sure...but I'm sorry for my actions earlier." she said, her keyblade finally closing in on Avi.

The clanking of armor and lances could be heard behind Ananta. Turning around, she widened her eyes at the sight of even more Lance Soldiers. Grumbling, she swung her keyblade over her shoulder and placed her other hand on her hip. "So what do you want me to do now? Swing and slap you about until you're defeated?" she yelled at the heartless. They stared at her while she stepped towards them slowly. Not awaiting an answer, Ananta jumped forward and attacked the first Lance Soldier she could see. Her keyblade hit the heartless caused it to be shoved into the ground slightly. Smirking, Ananta stood up and began to slam her foot into the Lance Soldier, not caring if it wasn't doing much damage at all. Of course, she wasn't too keen on just stepping on the heartless. No, her keyblade was added into the mix, leaving holes in the heartless. Finally walking off, she looked back to see it was now gone in a puff of darkness. Chuckling, Ananta was now much happier at her handiwork. Eyes watching the other Lance Soldiers, Ananta noticed they didn't move an inch during her beating of their comrade. This was troubling, considering they seemed to be working together.

Not sure on what to do, Ananta began to wonder if perhaps there was someone else behind the scenes, watching and summoning all of these heartless. Rushing towards the next target, she skidded to a halt when she realized that the two Lance Soliders had both ran to opposite sides. Looking left and right, Ananta watched as they began running towards her in the middle. Ducking down, Ananta covered her head as she felt a gust of wind from the two heartless crashing into each other. Looking up, Ananta saw they were now in a mangled mess of lances and armor, trying to figure themselves out. Covering her eyes, Ananta waited a minute before opening them again and seeing the Lance Soldiers had fixed themselves and were just finishing adjusting their helmets on their heads. Running towards them, Ananta began to strike, hitting each of them equally and watching their movements. These two seemed to be working together as a duo. Movements in unison, they were both equally adept at fighting. Caught off guard at this sudden realization, Ananata was almost subject to a powerful attack. Adjusting her keyblade accordingly, she blocked the lances and flipped back.

"Not too shabby, not too shabby at all..." she commented, wiping sweat off her forehead. "How about some ice to cool off?" she said, putting her keyblade away for the time being. Holding her hands up, she began to form a blizzard spell in each hand. This was going to be rather costly in mana, but she was fine with that. She had plenty to spare from attacking the heartless in the first place. Making steps towards the heartless, Ananta smirked when she saw they decided to attack her. Jumping up, she dodged their initial attack and retaliated with her own. Pressing the spells into their skulls, she watched as it slowly began to sweep over the heartless. Their bodies now frozen, Ananta let them go, watching as their bodies fell over and wobbled a bit from the uneven weight. Summoning her keyblade once more, Ananta stood over the two frozen heartless and hit each of them, watching them shatter into tiny ice shards.

With that done, Ananta stood still and waited for more heartless to appear. So far, it seemed as if there were still more to come. Yawning, Ananta awaited the next round patiently.

"Hmph." Samsara said, holding her keyblade up to block the fire that Avi had sent towards her and Dane. It was hot and burnt both of her hands. Stepping back, she looked at Dane and grumbled. "Yeah sure, do whatever, sorry I tried to help you..." she sighed. Her hands hurt far too much right now for her to care about what Dane said. Although, he was right in saying he didn't need help. "I just want to help you is all, Dane. I don't want you to always think you have to deal with everything is all. Even if you're way more experienced than me, I want to prove that I'm worth a damn." Samsara looked up at Dane, watching him create the huge flaming tornado. It was true, she didn't want to seem like a burden after all. She had to deal with being a burden to her brother for a good 19 years, so now was as good a time as any to start trying to defend herself.

There was still the issue with her hands, however. They were hurting like hell and she couldn't really think of what to do. Looking around the immediate area, Samsara tried to see if there were any plants left that could help her. In all her training, she always remembered how her father liked to use natural remedies to fix their burns from the fire spells. Samsara really liked fire spells, so she always managed to burn herself from excitement. Spotting a plant, she grabbed it and cut off a leaf. Then, she rubbed the cut part on her hands and felt the burning sensation soothe slowly. When it was well enough, Samsara looked up to see the swirling fire tornado was rather large and rather dangerous.

"Dane, I think you need to calm it down, I'd hate if you killed yourself ya know." Samsara called out to Dane, trying to get his attention. "Besides, what good is it to burn an entire for- oh who am I kidding." she stopped herself, realizing how dumb she sounded. Of course Dane wouldn't care if a forest was burnt down. He wanted to destroy all the worlds, so why not cause havoc upon this one by burning it down? Stepping closer to Dane, Samsara watched his scythe and tilted her head. "Where'd you get your weapon anyway?" she asked, awaiting Avi to counter this attack. The tornado was pretty big and made it hard to see, so Samsara wasn't paying much attention to anything around her.

Dane instructed Samsara to go and fight Phantom. Turning towards the Phantom, Samsara watched him get attacked by both Bartholomew and Sherridan. It looks like this kid is down for the count, seeing as he has a freaking arrow in his arm. Still holding her keyblade in a defensive position, Samsara awaited to see what Phantom did next. From the looks of things, Phantom forced his arm into position so he could shoot them. First bullet headed into the forest, second towards Bartholomew, and the last one was headed straight for Samsara. Watched the bullet, it shot at the ground. Tilting her head, Samsara stared at the ground until she felt it rumbling a little. Readying a dark reflect, she wasn't fast enough and some of the spike came through. It poked through and managed to scrape at her leg, leaving behind a rather nasty gash.

Hopping back, Samsara put a hand over her wound and looked down at it. Blood was flowing out slowly, dripping to the forest floor and plopping on the ground. Holding her hand up, she felt a sting in her hand as she summoned Cure magic. Pushing the hand on her wound, she sat and waited for the wound to heal up. Although she wanted to use darkness, Samsara couldn't figure out if she could heal up with a dark spell or would she just suffer? Confused about things, she just waited for the spell to finish. Looking down, the wound was healed and she couldn't feel a bad pain anymore, but she still could feel some soreness. Standing up, Samsara moved a bit to test it and found she was able to move normally. Snapping her finger, her clothes were magically repaired and weren't torn anymore, something that happens in every video game and roleplay ever.

Looking forward at Phantom, Samsara began rushing over towards him. Once she got close enough, she held her keyblade at his neck and glared. "Send a message to your goddess. Tell her I hope she chokes and dies." Samsara smirked. "She's a lot better off just dying now than waiting for us to find the Hero and all." Moving her keyblade away, she looked up at the Griffon. It was now a screaming ice griffon. "Oh my god." she said, turning around and shaking her head. "I'll leave that to whoever..." she grumbled, running towards Dane. Standing beside him, she held her keyblade ready. "That other kid is down for the count, all that's left is this kid and that griffon. Others got the griffon, I'll help you with this kid." Samsara said, eyes focused on Avi.

Samsara could feel her heart weaken against whatever was going on. Doubling over, she felt tears drip down onto the floor beneath her, staining the ground. Opening her eyes, she noticed even her clothes had changed and that she now looked more like a Sage than ever before. Screaming in agony, she tried to rip the clothes off, but was unable to do so. Giving up, she pressed her back against a mirror and slipped to the floor. She was a crying, sobbing mess now. Looking up, she began to wonder if what she was doing was wrong. She wondered if things would have been better if she had never been born. Many more questioned flooded her mind as she brought her knees to her chest, folded her arms over her knees, pressed her forehead on her arms, and tried to sort things out. "Maybe I should just give up trying to learn to control this darkness? Maybe it'd be better if I just let it take over me..." she thought, sobbing. Tears threatened to flow down her cheeks again, but she stopped them. What was the use in crying if she was stuck here for a long time?

Looking down, Samsara noticed wisps of light through her arms. Turning her eyes upwards, she looked at the glowing figure before her. It was her father, or at least, her father's soul. Standing up, Samsara still couldn't look straight forward into her father's eyes, he was still taller than her, but only a little. Not knowing what to say, Samsara stood in silence before he hugged her in a warm embrace. This was when she got her first, good look, at her father. His hair was navy and eyes light brown. Just like her brother Ohm. Listening to her father, there was only one detail she didn't agree with. Samsara knew that her mother was not to be trusted or loved. Even if she had to kill her later, Samsara didn't care about Ananta anymore. Kross finished his speech and asked her to remember everything he said. She nodded and watched as he disappeared from her arms.

Closing her eyes, Samsara began to focus on what she wanted. She didn't fear this image of her anymore. Because it wasn't true anymore. She knew she'd never be like her mother. She was sure she'd never be like her mother, so she was able to slowly cause the clothing on her body to melt away and reveal her original look and clothes. The crystal around her neck seemed to turn nearly all dark now, only the tiniest light was still within it. Grabbing the crystal and looking down, Samsara grinned. "It's only a matter of time." she said. "Soon, I'll be able to just give it away and not worry about anything..." She chuckled, shaking her head. "I'm glad that dark guy taught me about this...." Samsara nodded to herself.

Eyes staring straight ahead, Samsara walked forward and pressed her hands on the mirror. Feeling darkness flow from her hands, she watched the mirror's image fade from what the other mirrors had been showing. Grinning at the mirror, Samsara saw Bartholomew's hand resting on her shoulder still. Thumping her hands against the mirror, she beat the mirror until cracks began to form. Then, once the cracks formed, small shards began to fall from the mirror before it shattered completely. Reaching her right hand over her shoulder, she gripped Bartholomew's hand. Her eyes lit back up and soon she had turned around and held her keyblade up to Bartholomew's neck. A frown spread across her face while she looked at him. "Do that again and I'll be sure to clip your wings." she threatened, letting him go. "But I gotta say thanks, because you've helped me a little today." she said, dark wisps floating away from her body and from where her hand had gripped Bartholomew's arm. "Now excuse me while I go to try and fight...that thing." she nodded her head towards the Griffon.

Stepping forward, Samsara stood behind Dane and awaited him to hop back towards her. "Got any plans?" she asked him, not wanting to get in his way. "Do I need to try and take down that kid?" she motioned towards Phantom, slapping away a few ice shards with her keyblade. Samsara was subject to fiercer magic than this, so she wasn't too scared of these ice shards. At least, not in their small numbers she wasn't, but if that kid managed to shoot off many in succession, she'd be in trouble. Looking up, Samsara saw the Griffon started to shell out it's own ice bombs, shooting at everyone. Reaching a hand up, Samsara managed to grab one before it exploded and returned the ice bomb, hitting the Griffon and causing it to reel back in surprise. Staring at her hand, Samsara hissed at the freezing feeling it gave off.

She scoffed at Lucien saying her words wound him. He was being rather pretentious, considering the circumstances, but that wasn't what caught her off guard. The fact that Audrey was putting herself in the middle of all this, made her take a few steps back. Samsara bumped into Dane, but soon backed away more and stood with her keyblade in her hand. She didn't want to fight anymore, mostly because of the fact Audrey was right there in the thick of it. She also didn't want to fight because some strange dude came along and put Dane in some kind of trap. Watching him, Samsara heard Dane make jokes about people wanting to kick his ass. She rolled her eyes. "I bet you have fun letting those people wait, don't you?" she joked with him, chuckling a little. While at first, Samsara wanted to kick his ass, that's passed now. She knew that wanting to kick his ass wasn't going to help her when she needed to train, so she let it go. Dane is her teacher after all. This also meant that trying to protect her teacher was something she was obligated to do, no matter how odd it was.

The spiel from the ranger was lost on Samsara, considering he just got here and hadn't seen the entire battle, so it's not like he understood exactly what was going on. "Look here you arrow butt, you obviously didn't see what happened, so don't jump in and try to be a hero." she said, groaning at the stupid trap that was now containing Dane. This was frustrating and she couldn't really think of what to do right now. On the one hand, she could just continue following Dane, but she could tell that he wasn't too happy that she wanted to fight alongside him. What was she supposed to do? Just sit back and let him get attacked? She was his comrade, probably his only comrade, so she didn't want him to be alone out here. Samsara then noticed how much she wanted to help a guy she barely knew. Shaking her head, she dispelled those thoughts. She met him a few hours ago at least, so it wasn't like they hadn't been searching for this HERO guy for a few minutes.

A hand laid on her shoulder and gave her a small jump. Samsara turned to see it was Bartholomew. "You scared me, you creepy guy. Where've you been anyway?" she asked, realizing he was talking to her. He told her that she wouldn't be able to help him. Why wouldn't she? She's right there, she can help Dane. Samsara could be useful and not just stand around like Bartholomew. Shaking her head, she looked back at Dane, then to Bartholomew. She blinked, wondering why her eyes were playing tricks on her, because she was now standing in a hallway of mirrors, nobody was around her. She could have sworn she could still feel the hand on her shoulder, however. Looking at the mirrors, Samsara saw herself, but not wearing the same clothes she had on. No, the reflection had on the same robes that a Sage from her world wears. Samsara saw her reflection was older and looked unhappy. "What?" she whispered, not understanding what was going on. She backed up and bumped into another mirror. She turned around to see that this mirror also had her in the Sage robes. All the mirrors reflected that and the same expression of unhappiness. Not sure what to do, but certainly getting scared, Samsara fell to her knees in this illusion world. Her hands trembled as she placed them on her head and grasped at her hair. Looking down at herself, she saw the same robes were now on her body. Shaking her head and closing her eyes, she started to feel tears prickling at her eyes and falling down her cheeks. She screamed to try and help herself come to terms with this world.

Back in the forest, Samsara was standing still with Bartholomew standing behind her with a hand on her shoulder. On the outside she seemed fine, although quiet, and things didn't seem to be wrong. On the inside, however, she was feeling extremely fearful, unable to escape this hallway of mirrors.

Sensing something amiss, Ananta looked behind her with the same goofy smile on her face that was there before. She was greeted with a lance that was nearly poking her face! Screaming and jumping back, she landed on her bottom and stared at the three new Lance Soldiers that decided to pop out of nowhere. "How am I gonna deal with you guys?" she asked herself, trying to think of a way to deal with them rather quickly. "If I had known there'd be more than three, I'd probably have run off towards another entrance..." she grumbled to herself. As she was mulling over what to do, Ananta didn't notice the Lance Soldier rushing towards her. Hearing the clunk and clang of it's armor, she looked up in time to see it's lance stick into the ground between her legs. Rolling backwards, she stood back up and dusted herself off. "That was too close for comfort!" she exclaimed. Huffing, she kept hopping back, dodging each lance strike. As she kept hopping, she stepped on a rock and slipped on it. Ananta began to fall, getting scratched by the lance, and landed on her side. Gripping the wound, she held her hand there while her Cure magic slowly began to work it's way into the wound. She summoned her keyblade and ran towards the Lance Soldier, striking it until it finally disappeared.

Holding her keyblade and standing still, Ananta huffed and puffed. Healing herself and fighting at the same time was not something she had to do often, so she exerted herself needlessly while trying to beat this Lance Soldier down. Grunting as she turned to stare at the remaining Lance Soldiers, Ananta swallowed hard and readied herself for another onslaught of attacks. She hoped that she wouldn't have to move too much, she wanted to finish healing herself, but she didn't want to be caught off guard either. Luckily for her, it seemed these Lance Soldiers were waiting for Ananta to go first. So, she decided to step around, as if she was going to attack, but didn't move too fast. The healing was taking awhile, but eventually she was done healing and was able to move about freely once more. Moving her hand away, she looked down at the previous area and saw nothing was left save for a small scratch where the lance had struck her. Cure magic was wonderful like that.

Grinning widely, Ananta ran towards one of the Lance Soldiers and immediately began wailing on it. She dodged it's strikes with relative ease, considering it was just poking at her wildly. This one seemed to be scared of Ananta, not wanting to get hurt at all. Ananta just wanted to recover her Mana by slapping it around a little. It was working, although her attacks were taking awhile. That's what happens when you focus on magic, you aren't so great with strength in the end, but your magic is deadly. Ananta didn't care, she would rather fight from far away than up close anyway.

With the second Lance Soldier defeated, all that was left was the third one. Hopefully, this one would be the last and she wouldn't have to fight anymore. Turning towards it, she tried slapping it with her keyblade, but was met with it's lance. Their weapons clanged together and made scratching noises as Ananta tried to push harder. After a few minutes of pushing, she managed to shove the heartless back and get a few good swings out onto it. With one last hit, the heartless was now defeated and Ananta could leave.

Her face expressionless, Samsara watched Audrey try and run to Alisia. She managed to grab her and beg her not to kill Juliet. It was far too late for that, Audrey's mother was dead. "Good riddance." Samsara mumbled, having an extreme dislike for mothers at the moment. Stepping forward, she noticed Bartholomew. Turning towards him, Samsara tapped his shoulder. "Don't stop me, no matter what happens next." she asked him. "I don't need to be babied or told no. I'm not going to be forced to do nothing or anything by anyone." she said, frowning at him. Turning towards Dane and Alisia, Samsara watched him beat the girl. Looking down, she grinned at Alisia's pain. She deserved it, after all, seeing as she thinks she can escape and all. Samsara didn't even wince when she saw the way Dane kicked her. The grin on her face remained all throughout this punishment. Samsara was glad that she was getting what she deserved. However, she didn't exactly agree to the doom spell on Audrey. She was about to speak about it before she noticed that it was gone.

Shaking her head, she stood closer to Dane and looked at his face. "I went to my homeworld you know. I...I had a small breakdown, I couldn't kill her. Not yet, anyway. I mean, finding out your world is still there after being lead to believe it was gone..." she started, a tear rolled down her face. Samsara quickly wiped it away and snapped. "It pisses me off to no end! I don't care what happens to that world, it's all dead to me anyway." she said, shaking her head. Looking back at Dane, she realized something. "I wanna say sorry for grabbing at you earlier. I got angry over something small, so...sorry. And thanks for the compliment." she said, nodding at him.

Looking back down to Alisia, she saw how the girl wobbled and cried, dirt and tears obviously causing pain to her face. Samsara almost knelt down to try and heal her, but she looked up to see Lucien had grabbed Juliet's keyblade and was making his way over to Dane. Standing back up, Samsara moved to stand between Dane and Lucien, summoning her keyblade in a puff of dark smoke, and holding her keyblade in front of her defensively. She didn't care if he wanted to fight Dane, Samsara knew that a keyblade would be bad news to a guy of darkness like Dane. This also was her first time summoning her keyblade since she got the new keychain. "Bartholomew, don't stop me, I'm protecting my teacher." Samsara said, glaring at Lucien. "You've always pissed me off, so don't even think for a moment I'm going to go easy on you."

A scream could be heard in the distance, Ananta turned her head and recognized the voice. "Princess Minnie!" she gasped, ready to run and see what happened. Pluto was already bounding off, leaving Ananta to reach forward and try to stop the dog. Before she could, however, 3 Lance Soldier's appeared in front of her! Ananta skidded to a halt and stared wide-eyed at the heartless. Turning around, she began to run around, trying to lose the heartless. Ananta ran in circles with the heartless running goofily behind her for a good couple a minutes before she stopped, realizing an important detail. "Oh yeah, I'm a keyblade wielder..." she said, laughing to herself. Behind her, Ananta heard the crashing and clanging of metal. Looking back, she noticed that the 3 Lance Soldier's had managed to crash into each other and create a heap of metal. Swirl's replaced their eyes, symbolizing their dizziness, as they laid there. Ananta crossed her arms and tilted her head, wondering when they were going to try and fight her back. It just so happened that one of the heartless got up and grabbed it's lance, wobbling towards Ananta. Summoning her keyblade, Ananta lunged at the heartless. The dark monster fumbled and missed her enough times that she was able to easily dismiss the first Lance Soldier easily.

Next came the second Lance Soldier, who had a little more time to recover. It lunged itself at Ananta and nearly managed to hit her. She dodged it in time, seeing as the Lance Soldier was rather slow, and so she retaliated. This one was able to block her attacks, posing a serious threat to her. In fact, it managed to knock the wind out of her with a strike from it's hand. "Who told you that you could punch me? That's cheating!" she said, coughing and wiping saliva off of her chin. Gathering herself, she ran towards the heartless and began to strike at it faster than before. The Lance Soldier's had managed to irritate her, so she wasn't going to go easy on it anymore. It didn't help that she had an annoying time with some of the same heartless earlier, so she knew how to deal with them, but just hated how annoyingly persistent they are. Luckily for Ananta, this one didn't take much more effort before she defeated it. That just left one more Lance Soldier and she could go help Princess Minnie.

Looking in the general direction of the Lance Soldier, Ananta noticed that it was gone. Blinking, she looked around to try and find out where exactly it had gone. That was when she felt the rushing of wind behind her. Turning around, she saw the final Lance Soldier was darting around erratically, just as the ones from earlier had done when they lost control of their lances. Readying herself, Ananta waited a couple of times before she finally grabbed the Lance Soldier's arm. She held tightly, zipping around with it and holding her hat on her head. It finally launched itself into the air and darted towards the ground again. The lance stabbed into the ground and flung the heartless and Ananta off of it. Ananta used the momentum to bring the Lance Soldier in front of her as they hurdled towards the building next to them. The Lance Soldier slammed into the building and soon disappeared afterwards.

Feet landing softly in the grass, Ananta wiped her hands together and smiled. Placing her hands on her hips, she nodded at herself. "Well, that's done, time to head on and save Princess Minnie!" she said, pumping her fist in the air. Behind her, three more Lance Soldier's appeared, each readying their lances.

Gritting her teeth, Samsara rushed behind the procession of Sages, zooming by Ananta. Startled, Ananta dropped the picture of her late husband on the ground, shattering the glass. Samsara turned her head to look behind her long enough to lock eyes with Ananta. She gave her the deepest, darkest glare that she could muster before she jumped up and above the building. Falling to her knees, she wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come. Instead, she felt the anguish and fear deep within her culminate and begin to strengthen her. "So, is this what darkness makes you feel like?" she thought, standing back up and sporting a blank expression on her face. Swiping her hand in front of her, Samsara summoned a dark corridor, stepping through it and appearing on the other side, in front of her house. Memories of her childhood flowed into her mind, especially spending time here with her brother Ohm, having him protect her was the best thing to ever happen. But now, she was strong enough to stand up on her own. She didn't need him anymore.

Walking up the pathway, she stopped at the front door. Her hand rested over the doorknob, not touching it just yet. "There's magic here...if I touch the door, she'll know I'm here..." she said, looking around the exterior. Her eyes stopped on a window that was open. "Parvati and Sati's room..." she spoke to herself, gulping. Hopefully, they wouldn't tell Ananta that she was here. Hoping up, she jumped inside and landed with a roll. Standing up, she found the room empty. Sighing, she was happy that her siblings weren't in here. Tip-toeing towards the door, she opened it quietly and soon emerged in the hallway. Stepping quickly, she made it to her parents' room and walked inside. Stepping close to the closet, she reached down under the rug to reveal a storage space. Inside was a box that was locked without a keyhole. Samsara knew that the lock was hidden from everyone else who are not keyblade wielders. Holding her starseeker keyblade, Samsara opened the box and looked inside at the keychains her parents had accumulated over the years. Her hand dug through the box and yanked out one she liked. Removing the previous keychain from her keyblade, she replaced it with the new one and watched as it's shape changed before her eyes.

Samsara returned the box to it's original place and stood up. She was done with this world and would rather never see it again. Swiping her had again, she made a dark corridor appear before her and stepped inside, appearing behind Alisia and Audrey. Looking up, she was just in time for Dane to start retaliating against Juliet. Samsara frowned, not caring that Dane had to fight, but she cared that Juliet was stupid enough to try and fight Dane. Looking to her right, she saw Audrey was at least preoccupied with a story for the time being. That didn't last long, seeing as the young girl started pleading for Dane to stop attacking Juliet. Or rather, she pleaded with her mother to stop attacking Dane. Perhaps even for Alisia to stop the spell. Either way, Samsara felt that this girl would cause trouble if she wasn't restrained. Samsara knelt down and grabbed the girl. She tried to keep her turned away from the battle, but was unsuccessful. Instead, she opted to at least keep her arms tightly around the girl, covering her eyes when the most gruesome parts happened.

Blinking, Samsara watched Dane and tilted her head. What was he talking about? Crystallis was gone, why would he ask her to go there? Shaking her head, she stood at the dark corridor and listened to Dane's story about his upbringing. His mother sounded like the worst mother ever. Samsara thought her mother was bad, but after hearing his story, she knew she was wrong. Samsara felt bad for Dane. His mother made him out to what he is today. But he wasn't angry, he was thankful, since this light of his was snuffed out. According to him, the light was burning him from the inside. It reminded her of the slight burning sensation she's been feeling for awhile now. Holding onto herself, Samsara could still feel the burning deep down. Reaching up, she took her crystal and returned it to it's previous place in her shirt. Dane was now done with his explanation and Samsara decided to take that as a sign she should go through this dark corridor finally.

Stepping through, she felt the darkness and relished in the relief it gave her from the burning light she had deep inside. Looking forward, she was nearly blinded by the bright light on the other side of the dark corridor. Her eyes adjusted to the light and widened in surprise. Standing there, she looked up to see the Mother Crystal was shining brightly in front of her. Everything was still there, nothing was gone. Tears formed in her eyes and started to stream down her face. Knees buckling, Samsara fell to the floor, hunched over and screaming into her hands. Calming down, she sat on her knees and wiped her eyes. Staring at the Mother Crystal, she felt a sudden pain in her head. What was this pain? It felt like things were rushing into her head and filling in holes where things once were. Soon, Samsara remembered everything. She remembered walking by her parents' room and hearing them discuss the memory spell that Ananta was going to use on Anta. She remembered how Ohm followed her after she ran away. She even remembered the last thing before her memories were changed. She remembered her brother's fingers rubbing her eyes and her memory had changed right there. "All this time, I was believing a lie..." she said, her voice cracking. "I even attacked my own brother..." Samsara stood up and cleared her throat, wiping any tears off of her face and staring ahead angrily. "Ananta has to pay." she said, jumping up and onto the chains that held the Mother Crystal in place.

Her eyes scanned the horizon until she noticed a lot of people were gathered around the Sending Chamber. Samsara ran along the chains and hopped down, running towards the building in question. She made her way through the crowd and stopped at the front. Ahead of her in black robes was her mother, knelt before the Sending Crystal Shard. She recognized the incantation that she was speaking. Somebody had died and Ananta was the one sending them off, the other Sages were knelt down with her, doing their own incantations for their magic they were the wards of. Slowly, they all stood up and began to walk down past Samsara. Ananta was the last one to walk, holding a picture of Kross in her arms and tears clearly visible in her hand, Kross' wedding band in a chain around her neck.

Samsara stood there, shocked at the realization of what just happened.

Walking along, Dane didn't seem to get Samsara's explanation. How else was she supposed to explain it? She didn't miss any details, so it's not like she wanted to hide anything from Dane. At least he kept his promise and was going to teach her something, finally. His next few words confused Samsara. "Why do I need to get all of that? The rabbit and logs I can get here and put up for later, but some guy named Beuce's arm?" she asked, confused as heck. "Why do we need his arm?" she asked next, trying to get a reason to his method of madness. Whatever the case, she reached down and found a dead rabbit. Seemed like this was one of the animals that ran away earlier, but was too injured to live. She stuffed it into her laws-of-physics-defying-pocket that every person in every video game ever has, along with two relatively large logs. This was all done while she still held Alisia.

Speaking of Alisia, Samsara noticed the girl was making noises in her unconsciousness. Eventually, the girl screamed, causing Samsara to hear a slight ringing in her ear for a little bit before she started getting pounded on her back. "Ow, ow!" she said, sitting Alisia on her feet. "First you scream, now you-" she started, before she noticed the tears and sweat on the girls' face. Samsara pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and leaned down to wipe Alisia's face. As she did so, her crystal fell out and dangled by it's chain from her neck. "Now, let me say sorry for knocking you out, but that was the only way I knew how to get rid of that thing you did to me. Here." she said, holding her hand up. A Cure spell formed in her hand and soon was pressed into Alisia's stomach, warming her and soothing the pain a little bit. "My magic isn't as strong as others who know healing magic, but it should help with the pain a little. Now, don't cast another one of those spells unless you're asked by Dane, okay?" she said, putting the handkerchief away.

Everything looked to be going normally now that the Princess was returned in time. Ananta watched as Princess Minnie was escorted out of her carriage. Turning her head to her companions, Ananta froze when she heard a dog barking. Turning her head slowly, she saw Pluto happily barking at Mickey. Soon, the dog was sniffing everyone and jumping about. Pluto got to Ananta and started growling viciously at her. Luckily, Mickey was able to calm him down a little, causing him to not growl anymore. Ananta sighed in relief and heard Donald joke about it. "I hope you're right, Donald..." she said, scratching her head. Goofy spoke up about splitting up. It sounded like a good idea, so Ananta nodded and giggled at Pluto barking to be included. She turned her head to the Princess and Mickey as Princess Minnie suggested that he should watch over her. Ananta covered her mouth to hide the grin on her face.

Next, Ananta was paired off with...Pluto?! Ananta's eyes widened and looked at the dog before turning back to Goofy. "Wait!" she said, seeing she was ignored as everyone else was paired off and walking to their positions. Ananta looked at Pluto as he growled at her more and more. Sighing, she walked to her position at the South Side and leaned against the wall, trying to ignore the growling dog in front of her. "Why would they stick me with Pluto? He's been growling at me all night!" she said, shaking a little bit. "This better be worth it in the end, I mean, I kinda wanna go see The Opera..." she said.

Suddenly, the camera changed to a poster and music could be heard playing.

Ananta grabbed the poster and ripped it off the wall in frustration. "Stupid musical posters!" she said, crumpling the paper.
